On June 6, Albuquerque’s Launchpad slithers with Snakes, in addition to Echoes of Fallen, Cambodian Death Squad, and Infirmary. Doors for this 21+ show open at 8 p.m., with the first band taking the stage at 9 p.m. Entry is only $5. Ticket price is subject to change at the door.
Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Snakes plays a variation of stoner metal it likes to call “stonerviolence.” Snakes’ latest full-length studio CD is a greatest hits compilation, available at bandcamp. Also available from bandcamp are Random Acts of Grindness and NGAF Demo. Members of Snakes are Secret Snake on guitar and vocalssss and Tornadowind Snake on drumssss.
Hailing from Belen and Albuquerque, Echoes of Fallen play a blistering combination of ripping death metal and punishing grindcore. The band’s self-titled demo was released in 2007. Echoes of Fallen consists of Vanson and Rich on guitars, Mike on drums, Lawrence on bass, Roman on vocals, and Travis on noise/samples. According to their Facebook page, one of the band’s goals is “to tour the world.”
Cambodian Death Squad mixes up punk rock with doom/sludge metal. The band has a nine-track 7” out, titled El Cerro Mission, available at bandcamp. Expect real short tracks, as most of the songs clock in at just several seconds over a minute.
Albuquerque’s Infirmary plays post-core crusty doom metal. Sample a demo song from the band at Youtube. Members of Infirmary are Rayce Tapia on percussion, Steve Kiyabu on guitar and backing vocals, and Bryndan McCracken on bass and lead vocals.
