DAYTON -- With just one week to go before April the snow is still coming down hard. When it's all said and done, this March could be one of the five worst in Dayton's history when it comes to snowfall. Two years ago, we saw 27 inches of snow. Last year, just 9 inches and this year we are up to 35 inches. Some people, like Martha Meikle's family love a heavy snowfall in the last week of March, For our family it's like a gift, she said.However most drivers and clean-up crews are counting down the days before the Spring temperatures.Your pretty tired afterwards, the crews have a rough time, said Dayton street maintenance manager Jim Brinegar. Getting out there on the roads is stressful.With heavy snowfall, Dayton Street Maintenance workers get little sleep.We have 16 hours on 8 off and 16 on, said Brinegar. Our crews have been reduced over the years and we aren't able to staff two crews.But even with snowfall coming this late in the season, this winter has actually been pretty average. We spend a total of about $400,000-500,000 on both overtime and salt usage, said Montgomery County auditor Paul Gruner.We called around to Miami, Greene Clark and Montgomery County and they all said today's snow brought them to the their seasonal budget.Darke County's engineer estimates they may actually exceed the budget this winter, but they'll be the only local county to do so.So while it may feel like this is a long winter and taxpayers have to fund more clean up, Martha Meikle says this is nothing.When we were kids, I remember one year my grandma had to tunnel out from her front door and that was the coolest thing ever and that was in Ohio and that wasn't that long ago, said Meikle. I feel like my kids are being cheated out of winter because winters in Ohio lately haven't been very good. County engineers say they saved almost half their budget with last years mild winter. Paul Brinegar
Paul Brinegar (December 19, 1917 – March 27, 1995) was an American character actor best known for his roles in three western series, The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp, Rawhide, and Lancer.
Born and reared in Tucumcari in eastern New Mexico, Brinegar headed to California as a young man and made his feature film debut in Larceny (1948). From there, he launched a steady film career that slowed down considerably in the late 1950s, after he began appearing on television but did not end until 1994, when Brinegar made his final screen appearance, as a stagecoach driver, in the 1994 film version of Maverick.
Brinegar appeared more than one hundred times between 1946 and 1994 in western films. He is remembered as the barman in Clint Eastwood's High Plains Drifter in 1973. He was cast as the cook, George Washington Wishbone, on the CBS series Rawhide from 1959 to 1966, which also starred Eric Fleming as the trail boss, Gil Favor, and Clint Eastwood as the drover Rowdy Yates. He had even played Tom Jefferson Jeffrey in the 1958 movie Cattle Empire upon which Rawhide was based.

DAYTON -- With just one week to go before April the snow is still coming down hard. When it's all said and done, this March could be one of the five worst in Dayton's history when it comes to snowfall. Two years ago, we saw 27 inches of snow. Last year, just 9 inches and this year we are up to 35 inches. Some people, like Martha Meikle's family love a heavy snowfall in the last week of March, For our family it's like a gift, she said.However most drivers and clean-up crews are counting down the days before the Spring temperatures.Your pretty tired afterwards, the crews have a rough time, said Dayton street maintenance manager Jim Brinegar. Getting out there on the roads is stressful.With heavy snowfall, Dayton Street Maintenance workers get little sleep.We have 16 hours on 8 off and 16 on, said Brinegar. Our crews have been reduced over the years and we aren't able to staff two crews.But even with snowfall coming this late in the season, this winter has actually been pretty average. We spend a total of about $400,000-500,000 on both overtime and salt usage, said Montgomery County auditor Paul Gruner.We called around to Miami, Greene Clark and Montgomery County and they all said today's snow brought them to the their seasonal budget.Darke County's engineer estimates they may actually exceed the budget this winter, but they'll be the only local county to do so.So while it may feel like this is a long winter and taxpayers have to fund more clean up, Martha Meikle says this is nothing.When we were kids, I remember one year my grandma had to tunnel out from her front door and that was the coolest thing ever and that was in Ohio and that wasn't that long ago, said Meikle. I feel like my kids are being cheated out of winter because winters in Ohio lately haven't been very good. County engineers say they saved almost half their budget with last years mild winter. In 1973, Stacy was hit by a drunk driver while driving his motorcycle, resulting in the amputation of his left leg and arm and the death of his girlfriend. He returned to acting in 1975 before retiring in 1991. In 1996, Stacy was convicted of molesting an 11-year-old girl for which he served a six-year prison sentence. When it's all said and done, this March could be one of the five worst in Dayton's history when it comes to snowfall. Two years ago, we saw 27 inches of snow. Last year, just 9 inches and this year we are up to 35 inches. Some people, like Martha Meikle's family love a heavy snowfall in the last week of March, For our family it's like a gift, she said.However most drivers and clean-up crews are counting down the days before the Spring temperatures.Your pretty tired afterwards, the crews have a rough time, said Dayton street maintenance manager Jim Brinegar. Getting out there on the roads is stressful.With heavy snowfall, Dayton Street Maintenance workers get little sleep.We have 16 hours on 8 off and 16 on, said Brinegar. Our crews have been reduced over the years and we aren't able to staff two crews.But even with snowfall coming this late in the season, this winter has actually been pretty average. We spend a total of about $400,000-500,000 on both overtime and salt usage, said Montgomery County auditor Paul Gruner.We called around to Miami, Greene Clark and Montgomery County and they all said today's snow brought them to the their seasonal budget.Darke County's engineer estimates they may actually exceed the budget this winter, but they'll be the only local county to do so.So while it may feel like this is a long winter and taxpayers have to fund more clean up, Martha Meikle says this is nothing.When we were kids, I remember one year my grandma had to tunnel out from her front door and that was the coolest thing ever and that was in Ohio and that wasn't that long ago, said Meikle. I feel like my kids are being cheated out of winter because winters in Ohio lately haven't been very good. County engineers say they saved almost half their budget with last years mild winter. Tales of Wells Fargo is an American Western television series starring Dale Robertson that ran from 1957 to 1962 on NBC. Produced by Revue Productions, the series aired in a half-hour format until its final season when it expanded to an hour.
Set in the 1870s and 1880s, the series starred the Oklahoma native Dale Robertson as special agent Jim Hardie, noted at the time as "the left-handed gun". The series development was influenced by the biography of Wells Fargo detective Fred J. Dodge. The concept of Tales of Wells Fargo, a company troubleshooter in the American West, was also adapted by the syndicated series Pony Express, co-starring Grant Sullivan as detective Brett Clark, which aired in the 1959-1960 season, nearly coinciding with the centennial of the Pony Express. Even earlier, from 1954 to 1955, Jim Davis had starred as a railroad investigator, Matt Clark, in the syndicated Stories of the Century. Series Premise:
Tales of Wells Fargo is an American Western television series starring Dale Robertson that ran from 1957 to 1962 on NBC. Produced by Revue Productions, the series aired in a half-hour format until its final season when it expanded to an hour.
Set in the 1870s and 1880s, the series starred the Oklahoma native Dale Robertson as special agent Jim Hardie, noted at the time as "the left-handed gun". The series development was influenced by the biography of Wells Fargo detective Fred J. Dodge. The concept of Tales of Wells Fargo, a company troubleshooter in the American West, was also adapted by the syndicated series Pony Express, co-starring Grant Sullivan as detective Brett Clark, which aired in the 1959-1960 season, nearly coinciding with the centennial of the Pony Express. A "Search for an Unknown" is undertaken by a private eye, who probes a case involving four people who received threatening letters.
Series Premise:
The Whistler was one of American radio's most popular mystery dramas, with a 13-year run from May 16, 1942 until September 22, 1955. In 1954 THE WHISTLER came to TV presenting stories in which a person's criminal acts were typically undone either by an overlooked but important detail or by their own stupidity. On rare occasions a curious twist of fate caused the story to end happily for the episode's protagonist. Ironic twist endings were a key feature of each episode. Many of the stories used on the television show were actually taken from the original radio episodes. William Forman was both the narrator and the voice of "The Whistler."
