Eric Eisner is the son of Disney magnate Michael Eisner and a producer. He currently co-owns the film production company L+E Productions.
Eisner is the son of Jane Breckenridge, a business advisor and computer programmer, and Michael Eisner. His mother is a Unitarian of Scottish and Swedish descent while his father is Jewish.
Eisner holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College and a Master of Business Administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Eisner started his entertainment career in sports, working for the NHL team, the Anaheim (Mighty) Ducks. There he worked in the hockey operations department and helped renegotiate both the radio and television contracts. Eisner also spent two years as a talent scout and participated in the scout table during those NHL entry drafts.
Eisner founded the popular original content site, Romp.com. The site produced original short form animations and live action shows. Eisner wrote and directed the film, Jake's Booty Call, an animated feature-length film based on a short on Romp.com and distributed by National Lampoon.
Michael Dammann Eisner (born March 7, 1942) is an American businessman. He was the chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company from 1984 until 2005.
Eisner was born to an affluent, secular Jewish family in Mount Kisco, New York. His mother, Margaret (née Dammann), whose family founded the American Safety Razor Company, was the president of the Irvington Institute, a hospital that treated children with rheumatic fever. His father, Lester Eisner, Jr., was a lawyer and regional administrator of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. His great-grandfather,Sigmund Eisner, established a very successful clothing company that was one of the first uniform suppliers to the Boy Scouts of America and his great-grandmother, Bertha Weiss, belonged to an immigrant family that established the town of Red Bank, New Jersey. His parents were both descendents of German Jewish immigrants and Eisner had 16 relatives who were killed in the Holocaust.
He was raised on Park Avenue in Manhattan. He attended the Allen-Stevenson School kindergarten through ninth grade followed by The Lawrenceville School in 10th through his senior year and graduated from Denison University in 1964 with a B.A. in English. He is a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity and credits much of his accomplishments to his time at Keewaydin Canoe Camp for boys in Vermont. Eisner has one sister, Margot Freedman.
The Tornante Company, LLC is a privately held investment firm founded by former The Walt Disney Company CEO Michael Eisner in 2005. Tornante invests in and creates media and entertainment.
At Webby Connect, Michael Eisner said that the name came from a bike trip he took in Italy; he found out that Tornante means hairpin turn in Italian.
Tornante is based in Beverly Hills, California.
Eisner's company signed a worldwide distribution deal with Universal Pictures to release the firm's slate of films.
Current ventures for the firm include:
The given name Eric, Erik, or Erick is derived from the Old Norse name Eiríkr (or Eríkr in Eastern Scandinavia due to monophthongization). The first element, ei- is derived either from the older Proto-Norse *aina(z) meaning "one" or "alone" or from Proto-Norse *aiwa(z) meaning "ever" or "eternal". The second element -ríkr derives either from *rík(a)z meaning "ruler" or "prince" (cf. Gothic reiks) or from an even older Proto-Germanic *ríkiaz which meant "powerful" and "rich". The name is thus usually taken to mean "one ruler", "autocrat", "eternal ruler" or "ever powerful", "warrior", and "government".
The most common spelling in Scandinavia is Erik. In Norway, another form of the name (which has kept the Old Norse diphthong) Eirik is also commonly used. In Finland, the form Erkki is also used. The modern Icelandic version is Eiríkur, while the modern Faroese version is Eirikur. Éric [eʁik] is used in French, and in Germany Eric, Erik and Erich are used.
Although the name was in use in Anglo-Saxon England, its use was reinforced by Scandinavian settlers arriving before the Norman Invasion. It was an uncommon name in England until the Middle Ages, when it gained popularity, and finally became a common name in the 19th century. This was partly because of the publishing of the novel Eric, or, Little by Little by Frederick William Farrar in 1858.
Michael /ˈmaɪkəl/ is a male given name that comes from the Hebrew: מִיכָאֵל / מיכאל (Mīkhāʼēl, pronounced [miχaˈʔel]), derived from the question מי כאל mī kāʼēl, meaning "Who is like God?" (literally, "Who is like El?). In English, it is sometimes shortened to Mike, Mikey, Mickey, or Mick.
Female forms of Michael include Michelle, Michele, Michaela, Mechelle, Micheline, and Michaelle, although Michael is occasionally seen as a female name; women named Michael include actresses Michael Learned and Michael Michele. Another form is Mychal, which can either be a male or female name.
Patronymic surnames that come from Michael include Michaels, Carmichael, MacMichael, McMichael, Micallef, Michaelson, Mikkelsen, DiMichele, Mikhaylov, Mykhaylenko, Mikeladze, Michels, and Mitchell.
The name first appears in the Hebrew Bible in the Book of Numbers, 13:13 where Sethur the son of Michael is one of 12 spies sent into the Land of Canaan. The archangel Michael features in the Book of Daniel 12:1, and in the Qur'an as Mikhail.

Former Manheim Auction CEO, Dean Eisner and Dealer’s United co-founder, Jesse Biter are paired in this interview to discuss how they first met through the auto industry, and how their passions led them to do business in Sarasota, FL. Jesse Biter – a millionaire by his 30's – was on Eisner’s radar for years while Eisner served on the board of Auto Trader, a major automobile auction company which eventually bought Biter’s innovative software. Eisner’s passion for connecting people and Biter’s success in building ‘something from nothing’ have allowed them to make a positive impact on the Suncoast. The two describe their humble first jobs - Eisner first worked (and was amusingly fired) from Baskin-Robbins as a young teen, while Biter biked to work as a busboy at a small pizza and ice cream sho...

A Chilton, Wisconsin native, Eisner becomes the 20th men's basketball coach in program history and brings 17 years of head coaching experience to the helm, most recently at Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska, where he led the school to three consecutive berths in the NAIA Division II national tournament and finished as national runner-up in 2014. Explore Jewish Britain on Film on BFI Player (UK only): https://player.bfi.org.uk/free/collection/jewish-britain-on-film This charming amateur film offers a snapshot of a new life for the Eisner family, who had recently emigrated from Romania to the Derby suburb of Allestree. Mum Vera and children Edward and Erica are filmed by dad Joseph in the back garden of their new home and the family enjoy day trips to Chatsworth House, Warwick Castle and Ann Hathaway's Cottage near Stratford-upon-Avon. Though King Carol was sympathetic to the Jewish community, the situation in Romania had become increasingly precarious by the late 1930s. Carol abdicated in 1940; the following year Romania entered the war on the side of Nazi Germany and larger-scale persecution of Jews began, with thousands murder...

However, Derek and Andy resist the urge to play armchair quarterbacks, so they don't second-guess the six-member panel of judges or focus on what they would have chosen if they had been on the selection committee. As diligent comics scholars, they judicial and discerning in their commentary. At the same t...
