Champagne (French: [ʃɑ̃.paɲ]; English /ˌʃæmˈpeɪn/) is a sparkling wine produced from grapes grown in the Champagne region of France following rules that demand secondary fermentation of the wine in the bottle to create carbonation. Some use the term champagne as a generic term for sparkling wine, but many countries reserve the term exclusively for sparkling wines that come from Champagne and are produced under the rules of the appellation.
The primary grapes used in the production of Champagne are Pinot noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Champagne appellation law only allows grapes grown according to appellation rules in specifically designated plots within the appellation to be used in the production of Champagne. Some sparkling wines produced in other regions of the world use other grapes.
Champagne first gained world renown because of its association with the anointment of French kings. Royalty from throughout Europe spread the message of the unique sparkling wine from Champagne and its association with luxury and power in the 17th, 18th and 19th century. The leading manufacturers devoted considerable energy to creating a history and identity for their wine, associating it and themselves with nobility and royalty. Through advertising and packaging they sought to associate Champagne with high luxury, festivities, and rites of passage. Their efforts coincided with the emergence of a middle class that was looking for ways to spend its money on symbols of upward mobility.
Andrea Bocelli, OMRI, OMDSM (Italian pronunciation: [anˈdrɛːa boˈtʃɛlli]; born 22 September 1958) is an Italian tenor, multi-instrumentalist and classical crossover artist. Born with poor eyesight, he became blind at the age of twelve following a football accident.
Since winning the Newcomers section of the Sanremo Music Festival in 1994, Bocelli has recorded thirteen solo studio albums, of both pop and classical music, two greatest hits albums, and eight complete operas, selling over 75 million records worldwide. Thus, he is the biggest-selling solo artist in the history of classical music and has caused core classical repertoire to "cross over" to the top of international pop charts and into previously uncharted territory in popular culture.
In 1998, he was named one of People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People. In 1999, his nomination for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards marked the first, and so far only time a classical artist had been nominated in the category, since Leontyne Price, in 1961.The Prayer, his duet with Celine Dion for the animated film The Quest for Camelot, won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song and was nominated for an Academy Award in the same category. With the release of his classical album, Sacred Arias, Bocelli captured a listing in the Guinness Book of World Records, as he simultaneously held the top 3 positions on the US classical albums charts. Six of his albums have since reached the Top 10 on the Billboard 200, and a record-setting 8, have topped the classical albums charts in the United States.

Plot: Photography student François leads a mostly carefree life in Québec, spending most of his time hanging out with and photographing his girlfriend, Geneviève. That life changes after his father, Eugène, the family breadwinner, gets laid off from his job at American owned J.W. Goldwater and Sons, where he's worked for twenty years. Eugène and many of his fellow employee's jobs have been mechanized, and that particular factory sold. The men plan on holding continual solidarity protests - which includes not allowing other union employees to go to work - until they get their jobs back. Aspiring photographer François wants to document the protests on film. Believing the situation at Goldwater a systemic problem fostered by big business supportive provincial government policy, a small faction of the union, led by two men named Pierre and Fernand, want to co-opt François as part of their team to work clandestinely to get the third place Independence Party, led by Pierre Lemoyne, into power at the upcoming Québec provincial election, the plan which also includes using J.W. Goldwater the man. François' primary role is as photographer. He agrees as he agrees with this group's politics. François does not tell his family or Geneviève what he is doing as the activities of this group are illegal, including kidnapping and bombing. As François gets deeper and deeper into the activities of the group, something doesn't feel quite right to him, especially as certain planned events get out of control. By the time he figures out what's going on, it may be too late for him.
