An aria ([ˈaːrja]; Italian: air; plural: arie [ˈaːrje], or arias in common usage, diminutive form arietta [aˈrjetta]) in music was originally any expressive melody, usually, but not always, performed by a singer. The term became used almost exclusively to describe a self-contained piece for one voice, with or without orchestral accompaniment, normally part of a larger work. The typical context for arias is opera, but vocal arias also feature in oratorios and cantatas, sharing features of the operatic arias of their periods.
The term, which derives from the Greek and Latin 'aer' (air) first appeared in relation to music in the 14th century when it simply signified a manner or style of singing or playing. By the end of the 16th century, the term 'aria' refers to an instrumental form (cf. Santino Garsi da Parma lute works, 'Aria del Gran Duca' ). By the early 16th century it was in common use as meaning a simple setting of strophic poetry; melodic madrigals, free of complex polyphony, were known as madrigale arioso.
Aria is the fifth studio album by British rock band Asia, released in 1994. It was their second album released after the band's reformation in 1992.
All tracks written by Geoff Downes & John Payne, except "Desire" & "Aria", written by John Payne, Andy Nye & Geoff Downes.
Aria: Canticle of the Monomyth was a role-playing game published by Last Unicorn Games in 1994. Unlike many other role-playing games which centered on individual characters in a pre-set game world, Aria was intended to facilitate the creation of gameworlds, complete with cultures, histories, and politics. Players play not a single character, but a series of characters across the history of the game world, in essence playing the role of a given guild, city or culture, and telling a larger, grander story than would be accomplished with individual characters.
The emphasis for character, culture, and world creation is placed on concepts over statistics, and is meant to encourage players and game-masters to create fully fleshed-out, realistic worlds and cultures with feasible histories and politics. Magic is largely left open for the game master (the Mythguide) to decide, in terms of how magic is performed, how one learns it, and what it is capable of within the world. As with most other aspects of Aria there are no set rules on how magic has to work, which races are available, or any other aspects of the culture or world.

https://zakaria.bandcamp.com the following is a collection of previously unreleased songs, written and recorded from the time of 2019 to 2023. everything is in here, from random sonic experiments, samples and flippant and goofy field recordings, electronica and gazey soundscapes, acoustic guitar ballads and synthpop songwriting; all under zak aria’s signature production style which relishes and gleefully indulges in elements of extreme-lofi, outsider cassette/vhs pop and neopsychedelia. the songs were composed primarily with a mixture of digital synthesizers and zak aria’s casio keyboard. i made a point of very quickly curating and mixing/mastering practically every unreleased track from my hard drive and what resulted was this eclectic suite of 33 songs. #outsidermusic #casiopop #indi...

Who says the earth is crumbling
And no sky is falling through?
Sometimes, I just can't die
The world should be assembling
But not just right out of view
Whole days I like to fry
Easy action, got a rocket in your pocket
When you're a jet, you're a jet all the way
From your first cigarette to your last dying day
Who says the earth is trembling
