A fire at Zydeco's Cajun Restaurant in Boutte shut down traffic on Route 90 Monday (May 30). Capt. Pat Yoes, spokesman for the St. Charles Parish sheriff's office, said the call came in shortly after 5 p.m. The restaurant was closed at the time, Yoes said. State and St. Charles Parish fire officials say a lightning strike may be the cause of the fire Monday (May 30) that destroyed the popular seafood restaurant Zydeco's on U.S. 90 in Boutte, shutting down the road for hours. The restaurant was closed at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported. Deputy State Fire Marshal Brant Thompson estimated the damage at $1 million.
