This video portrays how the forests and summer pastures of Ismayilli region of Azerbaijan degrade because of overgrazing and exceeding cattle/sheep breeding. We are introducing eco-system based approach to sustainable manage the exceeding practice. This video is prepared in the framework of the projects on "Ecosystem-based approaches to climate change" (Clima East Pilot Project and "Sustainable Land and Forest Management in the Greater Caucasus landscape" (GEF Project). Projects are financed by EU and GEF, respectively.

In 2016, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will celebrate its 50th anniversary. UNDP came into being in 1966 as a merger of two predecessors: the Expanded Programme of Technical Assistance, and the United Nations Special Fund. Today, fifty years later, UNDP is as relevant as ever: leading the UN development system in over 170 countries and territories and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. To mark the occasion, UNDP is hosting a Ministerial Meeting on 24 February 2016. Ministers from all UN Member States are invited.
The new UNDP country programme is based on the new United Nations Azerbaijan Partnership Framework (UNAPF). The new country programme will continue to benefit from government cost-sharing contributions, thereby ensuring strong national ownership of programme priorities and a continuing spirit of partnership.
The publication summarizes progress of the UN System in Azerbaijan towards achieving the outcomes of the UN Development Assistance Framework and charts out the work plan for 2016.
