Marshall (London cricketer)

Marshall (first name and dates unknown) was an English cricketer who had amateur status. He played in major matches for London Cricket Club during the 1730s and is recorded taking part in a major single wicket match at Kennington Common on Monday, 11 August 1735. Others involved in the fixture were Dunn, Ellis, Pool and Wakeland.

As Marshall had established his reputation by 1735, he must have been active for some years previously and his career probably began in the 1720s. Very few players were mentioned by name in contemporary reports and there are no other references to Marshall.

Marshall, Texas

Marshall is a city in and the county seat of Harrison County in the northeastern corner of the U.S. state of Texas. Marshall is a major cultural and educational center in East Texas and the tri-state area. At the 2010 census, the population of Marshall was about 23,523.

Marshall was a political and production center of the Confederacy during the Civil War. Later it was a major railroad center of the T&P Railroad from the late 19th century until the mid-20th century. The city's large African American population and the presence of black institutions of higher learning made Marshall a center of the civil rights movement in the American South. The city is known for holding one of the largest light festivals in the United States, the Wonderland of Lights, and, as the self-proclaimed Pottery Capital of the World, for its sizable pottery industry.

Marshall is also referred to by various nicknames; the Cultural Capital of East Texas, the Gateway of Texas, the Athens of Texas, the City of Seven Flags and Center Stage, a branding slogan adopted by the Marshall Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Woodworth, Louisiana

Woodworth is a town in Rapides Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is part of the Alexandria, Louisiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,080 at the 2000 census.

This small town is growing rapidly with a number of residential subdivisions under development. Woodworth is emerging as a bedroom community for nearby Alexandria, to the northeast. Louisiana State Senator Joe McPherson resides in Woodworth. So did the late State Representative R. W. "Buzzy" Graham, who operated an insurance agency in Alexandria.

According to a 2007 report, Woodworth was named one of the 10 worst speed traps in the state of Louisiana. Woodworth made 61.32% of its revenue, an average of roughly $706 per capita population, from fines and forfeitures in the 2005 fiscal year.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 4.9 square miles (13 km²).4.9 square miles (12.7 km²) of it is land and 0.20% is water.
