Bulley is a hamlet in Gloucestershire, almost 7 miles (11 km) west of the city of Gloucester and about 1 mile (1.6 km) north of the village of Churcham.
The Church of England parish church of St Michael and All Angels has been a dependent chapelry of St Andrew's parish church, Churcham since at least AD 1100. Both St Andrew's and St Michael's are now members of the Forest Edge group of churches.
St Michael's building is Norman. A Perpendicular Gothic window on the south side of the nave is a 15th-century addition. In 1886 the building was restored under the direction of the architect Sidney Gambier-Parry. The church is a Grade I listed building.
Bulley has had a long association with Churcham. When a parish school was founded for Churcham and Bulley in 1856 it was built at Bulley. Under the Local Government Act 1894 Bulley was made a separate civil parish, but in 1935 it was merged with that of Churcham.
In the wintercold I see the blood
clotting slowly in the snow
Unsung heroes cry in the night
may they die before dawn
Broken banners mourn fallen crowns
grieving swords lay all around
As the swansong touches the mountainside
unseeing eyes look at you
Can't you hear it
hear the sorrows vail
Oh, can't you see it
the newborn day
Impaled hearts welcome the end of pain
black blood releasing warrior souls
Vultures circle 'round the fields of grief
another graveyard, another tale
Can't you hear it
hear the sorrows vail
Oh, can't you see it
the newborn day
