Montgomery College celebrated its 66th commencement ceremony on Friday, May 24. The event honored graduates from the College's three campuses in Montgomery County, Md.—Germantown, Rockville, and Takoma Park/Silver Spring—along with apprenticeship graduates in Workforce Development & Continuing Education programs. Of the more than 3,000 students who have completed graduation requirements for associate's degrees, apprenticeships or certificates this academic year, more than 800 will participate in the ceremony, which will be held on the Rockville Campus athletic field.
Norman R. Augustine—retired chairman and CEO of the board of Lockheed Martin Corporation— delivered the commencement address. Prior to joining Martin Marietta, he served as both assistant secretary and undersecretary of the US Department of the Army. He also was a professor at Princeton University, his alma mater.
He served on the boards of Black & Decker (now Stanley Black & Decker), Procter & Gamble and ConocoPhillips. Augustine was chairman and principal officer of the American Red Cross for nine years, chairman of the National Academy of Engineering, president and chairman of the Association of the United States Army, chairman of the Aerospace Industries Association, president of the Boy Scouts of America and chairman of the Defense Science Board. He is a trustee emeritus of Johns Hopkins University, a former member of the board of trustees of Princeton University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is a regent of the University System of Maryland.
The commencement ceremony also featured speeches by four graduating students who have been selected as the College's Board of Trustees Scholars. The scholars, who earn an award for future tuition or educational costs, represent each of the three campuses and Workforce Development & Continuing Education. This year's Board of Trustees Scholars are:

This iz my 8th annual year-end countdown. I did it back in January 2008, when I was 19, and I'm finally gettin' it online, in video format. This countdown iz statistically based off of how popular each song was on my outlets--mixed with my own spins--in 2007.
Tha countdown iz divided into eight levels (100 songs each, excludin' Level 1).
I attached a transcript to view all tha songs. I think all tha songs come up in tha YouTube search, too. I'm still new to tha transcripts on YouTube so I hope to get better at it, soon.

David (/ˈdeɪvɪd/; Hebrew: דָּוִד, Modern David, Tiberian Dāwîḏ;ISO 259-3 Dawid; Arabic: داوُد Dāwūd; Syriac: ܕܘܝܕ Dawid; Ancient Greek: Δαυίδ; Latin: Davidus, David; Strong's: Daveed) was, according to the Books of Samuel, the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel, and according to the New Testament, an ancestor of Jesus. His life is conventionally dated to c. 1040 – 970 BCE, his reign over Judah c. 1010–970 BCE.
The Books of Samuel, 1 Kings, and 1 Chronicles are the only Old Testament sources of information on David, although the Tel Dan Stele (dated c. 850–835 BCE) contains the phrase בית דוד (bytdwd), read as "House of David", which many scholars confirm to be a likely plausible match to the existence in the mid-9th century BCE of a Judean royal dynasty called the House of David.
Depicted as a valorous warrior of great renown, and a poet and musician credited for composing much of the psalms contained in the Book of Psalms, King David is widely viewed as a righteous and effective king in battle and civil justice. He is described as a man after God's own heart in 1 Samuel 13:14 and Acts 13:22.

Stereophonic sound
Stereophonic sound or, more commonly, stereo, is a method of sound reproduction that creates an illusion of multi-directional audible perspective. This is usually achieved by using two or more independent audio channels through a configuration of two or more loudspeakers (or stereo headphones) in such a way as to create the impression of sound heard from various directions, as in natural hearing. Thus the term "stereophonic" applies to so-called "quadraphonic" and "surround-sound" systems as well as the more common two-channel, two-speaker systems. It is often contrasted with monophonic, or "mono" sound, where audio is heard as coming from one position, often centered in the sound field (analogous to a visual field). In the 2000s, stereo sound is common in entertainment systems such as broadcast radio and TV, recorded music and the cinema.
The word stereophonic derives from the Greek "στερεός" (stereos), "firm, solid" + "φωνή" (phōnē), "sound, tone, voice" and it was coined in 1927 by Western Electric, by analogy with the word "stereoscopic".

Montgomery College
Montgomery College (MC) is a public, open access community college located in Montgomery County, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C.. The college has three campuses, the largest of which is in Rockville. Its other campuses are in Takoma Park/Silver Spring and Germantown. Its off-campus sites include the Business Training Center in Gaithersburg and Westfield South in Wheaton, which are operated by the college's Workforce Development and Continuing Education division.
History
This college was organized in 1946 as "Montgomery Junior College," with its campus located at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School. In 1950, the college moved to Takoma Park, absorbing the Bliss Electrical School, a private, for-profit institution formed in 1893, and that had occupied the site since 1908. During World War II Bliss had the distinction of being selected by the U.S. Navy as one of six engineering schools to give Primary School in the Electronics Training Program and it graduated over 3,000 students.

Montgomery College Commencement 2013
Montgomery College celebrated its 66th commencement ceremony on Friday, May 24. The event honored graduates from the College's three campuses in Montgomery County, Md.—Germantown, Rockville, and Takoma Park/Silver Spring—along with apprenticeship graduates in Workforce Development & Continuing Education programs. Of the more than 3,000 students who have completed graduation requirements for associate's degrees, apprenticeships or certificates this academic year, more than 800 will participate in the ceremony, which will be held on the Rockville Campus athletic field. Montgomery College celebrated its 66th commencement ceremony on Friday, May 24. The event honored graduates from the College's three campuses in Montgomery County, Md.—Germantown, Rockville, and Takoma Park/Silver Spring—along with apprenticeship graduates in Workforce Development & Continuing Education programs. Of the more than 3,000 students who have completed graduation requirements for associate's degrees, apprenticeships or certificates this academic year, more than 800 will participate in the ceremony, which will be held on the Rockville Campus athletic field.
Norman R. Augustine—retired chairman and CEO of the board of Lockheed Martin Corporation— delivered the commencement address. Prior to joining Martin Marietta, he served as both assistant secretary and undersecretary of the US Department of the Army. He also was a professor at Princeton University, his alma mater.
He served on the boards of Black & Decker (now Stanley Black & Decker), Procter & Gamble and ConocoPhillips. Augustine was chairman and principal officer of the American Red Cross for nine years, chairman of the National Academy of Engineering, president and chairman of the Association of the United States Army, chairman of the Aerospace Industries Association, president of the Boy Scouts of America and chairman of the Defense Science Board. He is a trustee emeritus of Johns Hopkins University, a former member of the board of trustees of Princeton University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is a regent of the University System of Maryland.
The commencement ceremony also featured speeches by four graduating students who have been selected as the College's Board of Trustees Scholars. The scholars, who earn an award for future tuition or educational costs, represent each of the three campuses and Workforce Development & Continuing Education. This year's Board of Trustees Scholars are:

Kathleen M. Burns, Germantown Campus Scholar
