Date of
Journey:
March 31st, 2014
It was my first journey in a
Double Decker train, and i got the platform level window seat, it was a journey i was looking forward to. The only problem was it was the first row, i mean literally the first row of seats facing
Bangalore, ahead of my row, came the door, Vestibule, and ahead of that the only other people traveling to Bangalore were the
OBHS staff in the
EOG and the LP/
ALP in the loco ahead of that. Seriously, it was like i was leading the pack, but anyways, coming back to the journey, my alarm rang at 05:00 sharp, i took a quick shower, changed and rushed to the
Bus Stop and immediately got a direct bus to
Chennai Central station. I reached at 06:37, it took me another 3mins to get my luggage checked and enter the station, and just as i was entering, some
WAP7 gave a massive honk and departed from pf1 with the
Nizamuddin bound
Duronto. And i entered pf3, assuming that DD would either depart from PF2A or pf4, but thats when the rake of
Brindavan express was shunted into pf4, immediately after the rake of GT was taken to the yard. And pf2 was occupied by the
Coimbatore Shatabdi. Thats when i heard the announcements that DD would depart from pf1 that day, so i took my luggage and trudged towards pf1, but used the trolley path, since i knew that my coach
C10, would come somewhere near the
North end of the pf. And sure enough, as soon as the power of the
CBE Shatabdi,
RPM WAP7 30379 came and got itself coupled to the rake on pf2, my train was shunted into pf1 by a
TNP WDM7, and our power RPM WAP7 30350, came almost immediately and got itself attached to the rake, and at 07:25 began a dream run from
MAS to
SBC, a journey that lasted almost 6hrs, it was hectic, but was fun, and am looking forward to my next Double Decker ride, will try a different one this time. I spent most of my time at the door, and the rest of the journey will be explained to you through the video itself. :)
Hope you all enjoy it.
