Syria War 2016 - Heavy Clashes As Kurdish YPG And Syrian Government Troops Battle Over Al-Qamishli.
Heavy clashes occured recently as Kurdish YPG units together with FSA rebels started heavy fighting and firefights with Syrian government troops from the National Defense Force (NDF) over the control of the northern Syrian town of Qamishli.
The footage shows Kurdish YPG fighters in heavy urban combat in the town that mostly was untouched by the raging Syrian Civil War.
A main battlefield durign the short battle of Al-Qamishli was the Allya prison that was overtaken by Syrian government forces and led to the erruption of the clashes between Kurdish YPG fighters and National Defense Forces.
The battle was won by the Kurds leading to the capturing of at least 50 Syrian government loyalist. About 21 NDF fighters were also KIA.
The Syrian Army shelled Kurdish positions in northern Syria with artillery and mortar fire as a response to the battle.
However after the intervention of a Russian special delegation sent by Vladimir Putin to Qamishlo a truce has been reached between the Kurdish Forces and the forces loyal to Bashar Assad in which the NDF agreed to pull out of the city and leave the security measures to the Kurdish Asayish and YPG forces.
That prevented further escalations between Kurdish militia groups and the Syrian government.

Palmyra is an ancient Semitic city in present-day Homs Governorate, Syria. Archaeological finds date back to the Neolithic period, and the city was first documented in the early second millennium BC. Palmyra changed hands on a number of occasions between different empires before becoming a subject of the Roman Empire in the first century AD.
The Palmyra offensive (March 2016) was a military operation started by the Syrian Arab Army, supported by Russian airstrikes, in a bid to recapture city of Tadmur (near the ruins of the ancient city of Palmyra), which was strategically important for both forces due to its position in central Syria. The city was recaptured on 27 March.

Pro Syrian government source announced the recapture of the Syrian town of Palmyra from the the Islamic State after heavy clashes and fighting backed by the Syrian Air Force and also Russian Air Force today.
The fighting was ongoing during the last weeks with Syrian Army forces gaining more and more ground day by day advancing till the final assault on the city that caused ISIS to retreat after heavy pressure by pro goverment troops.
Before the war in Syria Palmyra was known to be a desert oasis surrounded by palm trees in central Syria. Its strategic crossroads also linking the Syrian capital, Damascus, with the country's east and neighbouring Iraq.
The loss of Palmyra marks a major setback for IS, which has been losing ground for months in both Iraq and Syria. The capture of the town brings Syrian forces closer to Raqqa, the IS group's de facto capital, and the eastern city of Deir el-Zour, which is almost entirely held by the extremists.
The video shows Syrian Army troops in heavy clashes, fighting and firefights against ISIS, Tanks and technicals pounding ISIS positions with their guns and machine guns, Syrian MIG 21 fighter jets and SA-342 Gazelle helicopters conducting airstrikes on Islamic State strongholds and Russian MI-24 aswell as Mi-28 helicopters in action. The later was just shown for the first time in Syria during the battle for Palmyra.
The footage was mostly released via pro government sources and the Syrian state media agency Sana.

Syria War 2016 - POV GoPro Footage Of Syrian Rebels Capturing Several ISIS Fighters During Firefight.
Syrian rebels released POV GoPro "helmet cam" footage of them capturing several ISIS fighters in a firefight during a raid on a small ISIS held village.
The exact location is unknown but judging on the ladscape and rebel logo it most likely happend in southern Syrias Daraa or Quneitra region.
A thing that backs this is as said the logo of the rebel movement that belongs to Alwiya al-Furqan, a independent southern Syrian rebel branch that claims to be the largest Islamic faction currently operating in Quneitra.
The raid got the ISIS fighters by suprise so they were not able to put on significant resistance and did not even had the time to put on their shoes.
Rebels are shown dismounting from their vehicles and raiding the area resulting in a firefight and the capture of at least 3 ISIS militants.
The whereabouts of the Islamic State militants is currently unknown.

POV GoPro footage from heavy clashes and fighting between Syrian Rebels and the Syrian Army during a Syrian rebel assault on Syrian Army positions on the battlefield in Aleppo.
Heavy clashes, fighting and firefights continue between Syrian rebels and the Syrian army despite a ceasefire agreement was made a few weeks ago.
Footage shows an combined arms assault mostly filmed with GoPro helmet cameras mounted on the heads and guns of rebel fighters and on tank turrets aswell.
The storm on the Syrian army positions took place in Khalidiya and is part of the battle of southern Aleppo.
The rebel groups fighting here are mostly radical islamist groups who are not affected by the ceasefire that was mainly made between the Free Syrian Army and the Syrian Arab Army.
The group seen here is mostly Jaish Al-Tahrir but also the al-Nusra Front is known to have participated in the battle.
Clashes and fighting are currently ongoing making the region of Aleppo one of the fiercest battlefields in the entier Syrian Cvil War in 2016 with also Syrian, Russian and American airstrikes occuring on a daily basis.

The Battle of Aleppo is an ongoing military confrontation in Aleppo, Syria between the Free Syrian Army, Islamic Front, People's Defence Units and Sunni militants against the Syrian government, Hezbollah and Shiite militants. The battle began on 19 July 2012 as a part of the Syrian Civil War. The battle's scale and importance led combatants to name it the "mother of battles". The battle has been highly noted for the Syrian army's indiscriminate use of barrel bombs dropped from helicopters, killing thousands. Hundreds of thousands have been forced to evacuate. On the other hand, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights denounced the Free Syrian Army for the indiscriminate bombardment of government-held districts, with gas cylinders filled with explosives, which resulted in hundreds of casualties. The battle has also caused catastrophic destruction to the Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Khan Tuman is a village in northern Syria, administratively part of the Mount Simeon District of Aleppo Governorate, located southwest of Aleppo. Nearby localities include Urum al-Kubrah, Urum al-Sughrah, al-Shaykh Ali and al-Zurbah.
On 9 April, the rebels took control of the village of Khalidiyah, near Khan Tuman, as well as two hilltops and large parts of Zaytan, Birnah and al-Qal’ajiyyeh. Meanwhile, government forces intensified their shelling of Tel el-Ais and nearby Zorba, with over 100 mortars and rockets being fired at rebel positions, while Russian air-strikes continued.
The next day, the military recaptured Khalidiyah and the rebels withdrew from Zaytan, Birnah and other positions they had taken during the previous 24 hours. During the rebel assault on Khalidiyah and Khan Tuman, four members of the newly arrived Iranian 65th Airborne Special Forces Brigade were killed.
On 12 April, a new government assault on Tel el-Ais started. Before the attack, 300 rockets were launched at rebel positions in the area. Fighting also took place near Khan Tuman. The Army managed to advance and capture several hills in the area, as well as most of the village itself. However, this latest attack on Tel el-Ais was also eventually repelled, when government forces withdrew from the village after not being able to take Jabal Al-‘Eiss hill. The hills that they had also seized earlier in the day were once again under rebel control. Later in the day, a second attack against Tel el-Ais was launched.

Footage of clashes between government troops and Kurdish YPG in the northeastern city of Qamishli. Fighting between the two factions in the northeastern Syrian town sharply intensified on Thursday, after Kurdish police, known as Asayish, seized Allya prison where pro-government forces had been holed up. The Kurdish officials said the violence was triggered by Syrian government arrests and attacks on civilians.
At least 50 pro-Syrian government fighters have been taken captive by Kurdish forces in the Syrian town of Qamishli in the mostly Kurdish-controlled Hasaka province after fierce fighting entered a second day, various media report.
The Syrian government still controls a few areas in the city centre, and its airport.

The Battle of Aleppo is an ongoing military confrontation in Aleppo, Syria between the Free Syrian Army, Islamic Front, People's Defence Units and Sunni militants against the Syrian government, Hezbollah and Shiite militants. The battle began on 19 July 2012 as a part of the Syrian Civil War. The battle's scale and importance led combatants to name it the "mother of battles". The battle has been highly noted for the Syrian army's indiscriminate use of barrel bombs dropped from helicopters, killing thousands. Hundreds of thousands have been forced to evacuate. On the other hand, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights denounced the Free Syrian Army for the indiscriminate bombardment of government-held districts, with gas cylinders filled with explosives, which resulted in hundreds of casualties. Khan Tuman is a village in northern Syria, administratively part of the Mount Simeon District of Aleppo Governorate, located southwest of Aleppo. Nearby localities include Urum al-Kubrah, Urum al-Sughrah, al-Shaykh Ali and al-Zurbah. On 9 April, the rebels took control of the village of Khalidiyah, near Khan Tuman, as well as two hilltops and large parts of Zaytan, Birnah and al-Qal’ajiyyeh. Meanwhile, government forces intensified their shelling of Tel el-Ais and nearby Zorba, with over 100 mortars and rockets being fired at rebel positions, while Russian air-strikes continued. The next day, the military recaptured Khalidiyah and the rebels withdrew from Zaytan, Birnah and other positions they had taken during the previous 24 hours. During the rebel assault on Khalidiyah and Khan Tuman, four members of the newly arrived Iranian 65th Airborne Special Forces Brigade were killed. On 12 April, a new government assault on Tel el-Ais started. Before the attack, 300 rockets were launched at rebel positions in the area. Fighting also took place near Khan Tuman. The Army managed to advance and capture several hills in the area, as well as most of the village itself. However, this latest attack on Tel el-Ais was also eventually repelled, when government forces withdrew from the village after not being able to take Jabal Al-‘Eiss hill. The hills that they had also seized earlier in the day were once again under rebel control. The battle was won by the Kurds leading to the capturing of at least 50 Syrian government loyalist. About 21 NDF fighters were also KIA.
The Syrian Army shelled Kurdish positions in northern Syria with artillery and mortar fire as a response to the battle.
However after the intervention of a Russian special delegation sent by Vladimir Putin to Qamishlo a truce has been reached between the Kurdish Forces and the forces loyal to Bashar Assad in which the NDF agreed to pull out of the city and leave the security measures to the Kurdish Asayish and YPG forces.
That prevented further escalations between Kurdish militia groups and the Syrian government.

The fighting was ongoing during the last weeks with Syrian Army forces gaining more and more ground day by day advancing till the final assault on the city that caused ISIS to retreat after heavy pressure by pro goverment troops.
Before the war in Syria Palmyra was known to be a desert oasis surrounded by palm trees in central Syria. Its strategic crossroads also linking the Syrian capital, Damascus, with the country's east and neighbouring Iraq.
The loss of Palmyra marks a major setback for IS, which has been losing ground for months in both Iraq and Syria. The capture of the town brings Syrian forces closer to Raqqa, the IS group's de facto capital, and the eastern city of Deir el-Zour, which is almost entirely held by the extremists.
The video shows Syrian Army troops in heavy clashes, fighting and firefights against ISIS, Tanks and technicals pounding ISIS positions with their guns and machine guns, Syrian MIG 21 fighter jets and SA-342 Gazelle helicopters conducting airstrikes on Islamic State strongholds and Russian MI-24 aswell as Mi-28 helicopters in action. The later was just shown for the first time in Syria during the battle for Palmyra.
The footage was mostly released via pro government sources and the Syrian state media agency Sana.

Pro Syrian government source announced the recapture of the Syrian town of Palmyra from the the Islamic State after heavy clashes and fighting backed by the Syrian Air Force and also Russian Air Force today.

Syrian rebels released POV GoPro "helmet cam" footage of them capturing several ISIS fighters in a firefight during a raid on a small ISIS held village.
The exact location is unknown but judging on the ladscape and rebel logo it most likely happend in southern Syrias Daraa or Quneitra region.
A thing that backs this is as said the logo of the rebel movement that belongs to Alwiya al-Furqan, a independent southern Syrian rebel branch that claims to be the largest Islamic faction currently operating in Quneitra.
The raid got the ISIS fighters by suprise so they were not able to put on significant resistance and did not even had the time to put on their shoes.
Rebels are shown dismounting from their vehicles and raiding the area resulting in a firefight and the capture of at least 3 ISIS militants.
The whereabouts of the Islamic State militants is currently unknown.

Khan Tuman is a village in northern Syria, administratively part of the Mount Simeon District of Aleppo Governorate, located southwest of Aleppo. Nearby localities include Urum al-Kubrah, Urum al-Sughrah, al-Shaykh Ali and al-Zurbah.
On 9 April, the rebels took control of the village of Khalidiyah, near Khan Tuman, as well as two hilltops and large parts of Zaytan, Birnah and al-Qal’ajiyyeh. Meanwhile, government forces intensified their shelling of Tel el-Ais and nearby Zorba, with over 100 mortars and rockets being fired at rebel positions, while Russian air-strikes continued.
The next day, the military recaptured Khalidiyah and the rebels withdrew from Zaytan, Birnah and other positions they had taken during the previous 24 hours. During the rebel assault on Khalidiyah and Khan Tuman, four members of the newly arrived Iranian 65th Airborne Special Forces Brigade were killed.
On 12 April, a new government assault on Tel el-Ais started. Before the attack, 300 rockets were launched at rebel positions in the area. Fighting also took place near Khan Tuman. The Army managed to advance and capture several hills in the area, as well as most of the village itself. However, this latest attack on Tel el-Ais was also eventually repelled, when government forces withdrew from the village after not being able to take Jabal Al-‘Eiss hill. The hills that they had also seized earlier in the day were once again under rebel control. Later in the day, a second attack against Tel el-Ais was launched.

The Kurdish officials said the violence was triggered by Syrian government arrests and attacks on civilians.
At least 50 pro-Syrian government fighters have been taken captive by Kurdish forces in the Syrian town of Qamishli in the mostly Kurdish-controlled Hasaka province after fierce fighting entered a second day, various media report.
The Syrian government still controls a few areas in the city centre, and its airport.
