Michael Haley (rugby player)

Michael Haley (born 13 September 1987) in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England is a rugby league player who has played for the Leeds Rhinos in the European Super League. He plays as a prop. He is now with the Featherstone Rovers club after joining them in the winter of 2010 from Sheffield Eagles. On 20 February 2011 Haley suffered a severe injury to his knee in Featherstone's win at Barrow. The powerhouse prop (5'11" - 17st4) returned just weeks later.

Michael Haley is an officer in the South Carolina National Guard and husband of South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.

Personal life

The Haleys met 1989 as undergraduates at Clemson University While Nikki Haley is a Clemson graduate, Michael graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in business administration. Michael Haley is a graduate of Hilton Head Preparatory School.

Michael and Nikki Haley were married in 1996 in two ceremonies, a Sikh ceremony, and a ceremony at St. Andrew’s by-the-Sea, the Methodist church in Hilton Head, where Mr. Haley’s parents, Carole and Bill, have lived since retiring from jobs in Cleveland, Ohio when Michael was in the ninth grade. Before retiring to Hilton Head, Bill Haley was director of a steel manufacturing plant and Carole Haley taught school.

Haley worked in Exotica International, the clothing store founded by his mother-in-law, Raj Randhawa, before becoming a full-time federal military technician with the South Carolina National Guard in 2006.

Michael Haley (born 28 June 1993 in Preston, England) is a rugby union player for the Sale Sharks in the Aviva Premiership. He plays as a fullback. He made his professional debut against Saracens on the 10th March 2013.
