**I'm talking about the recordings**
Famous and very realistic. The choral contributions are very spectacular and effective. And the cannons are as they should be: not blazing out the music ! This is not cannons with behind them overture 1812.This is 1812 with realistic Cannons!
In this transcription by American conductor Igor Buketoff the following changes and additions were made:
The opening segment, God Preserve Thy People is sung a cappella by a choir.
A children's or women's choir is added to the flute and cor anglais duet rendition of At the Gate, at my Gate.
The orchestra and chorus unite in the climax with a triumphant version of God Preserve Thy People and God Save the Tsar.

The war was fought around the same time Napoleon invaded Russia and lasted from 1812 to 1814 killing thousands of soldiers, civilians, and untold destruction of property and damaging relations between America,Britain and canada to this very day.

The war lasted until 1815, and it resolved very little. John will take you through the causes of the war, tell you a little bit about the fighting itself, and get into just why the US Army couldn't manage to make any progress invading Canada. And yes, Canadians, we're going to talk about the White House getting burned down. The upshot: no territory changed hands, and most of the other bones of contention were solved prior to the actual war. Although nothing much changed for the US and England, the Native Americans were the big losers. Tecumseh was killed, and the Indian tribes lost a lot of territory. I can easily say that this is my favorite recording of this piece!
The 1812 Overture is famous for its very epic finale, and though the piece was written to celebrate the anniversary of Russia's victory over France in 1812, the piece's finale is very often used for the 4th of July during fireworks displays.
This is the entire recording of the piece; to hear the very famous finale, you can listen through the whole thing or fast forward the video to where it begins at 11:30 in the video.

The Year 1812, Festival Overture in E flat major, Op. 49,[1] popularly known as the 1812 Overture or the Overture of 1812 is an overture written by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1880 to commemorate Russia's defense of Moscow against Napoleon's advancing Grande Armée at the Battle of Borodino in 1812. The overture debuted in the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow on August 20 [O.S. August 8] 1882,[2] conducted by Ippolit Al'tani.[3] The overture is best known for its climactic volley of cannon fire, ringing chimes, and brass fanfare finale.

The Year 1812, Festival Overture in E flat major, Op. 49,[1] popularly known as the 1812 Overture or the Overture of 1812 is an overture written by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1880 to commemorate Russia's defense of Moscow against Napoleon's advancing Grande Armée at the Battle of Borodino in 1812. The overture debuted in the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow on August 20 [O.S.
