Season 5 of the American Western crime drama TV series “Longmire” is bound to return to Netflix in the second half of this year now that production for the show is way past its halfway mark.
There have been plenty of reports and rumors about the show although mostly are just hints and not delve so much into specific details. Apparently, there is apparently an unwritten standing instruction to the show cast and production members not to spoil “Longmire” Season 5 to fans and critics.
The latest update regarding “Longmire” Season 5 is the inclusion to the casting of actor Dylan Walsh, who shall reportedly play the role of criminal mastermind Shane Muldoon.
Muldoon is described as Eddie Hefferman’s boss but it can hardly be noticed from his well-mannered demeanor as well as his calm and assertive intelligence, notes Crossmap.
So whether Muldoon is just doing fly fishing or cracking down on loose elements in his criminal organization, there is an ominous edge to Shane Muldoon’s charming manners.
Returning old character
While there has been no official statement or announcement from Netflix regarding the casting and possible plotlines for the upcoming Season 5 of “Longmire,” several of the cast members have been posting photos of the set through their social media accounts, notes the Christian Post.
There have been insinuations that the upcoming fifth season of “Longmire” shall feature the return of an old character, but there has been no official detail on who it is going to be, leaving fans and viewers to speculate at their will.
It was actually actress Kate Sackhoff, who plays the role of Vic Moriarty in the TV series, who teased in her Twitter account just recently that there will be someone who is going to make a comeback in Season 5 of “Longmire.”
The toss-up of the speculations is on Omar and Branch with Omar getting the most preference from fans rather than Branch.
What is confirmed at this point is that the come-backing character would be returning on the fourth episode of the upcoming fifth season of “Longmire,” according to Sackhoff.
Working together more
Actor Lou Diamond Philips, who plays Henry Standing Bear, in “Longmire” revealed recently that his character in the TV series will be spending more time with Mathias, played by Zahn MaClarnon, as they collaborate on certain cases. Reports have it that Mathias will be deputizing Henry to work with him.
Henry tried to do so in Season 4 through the secretive route as Hector but it did not work out so fans are hoping that the two get to share more working time together in the upcoming Season 5.
Meanwhile, there are reports coming out that Season 5 of “Longmire” will be casting some Irish crime family members whom Walt Longmire, played by Robert Taylor, will take an interest on with regards to a drugs-related murder.
There are also hints that the sheriff will end up being romantically involved with his deputy despite the relationship with Doctor Donna Sue Monaghan, played by Ally Walker, which was previewed during the Season 4 finale episode.
Hunt Baldwin, executive producer of “Longmire,” said in a previous interview that Vic will be ready to take a different look at her love life after having finally accepted the end of her marriage.
He said that fans are aware that there is some interesting tension between Vic and Walt but it would not be a smooth sailing one as there will be new characters who shall be entering the scenario who might complicate the situation.
In addition to the possible return of a fan-favorite character, a new casting addition has been confirmed for Season 5 of “Longmire.”
Actor Sterling Beaumon, best known for his films such as “Crawlspace,” “The Pretty One,” and “Senior Partner,” has agreed to a recurring role in “Longmire.”
