A.E. "Abe" Lemons (November 21, 1922 - September 2, 2002) was an American college basketball player and coach. As a coach at Oklahoma City University, Texas-Pan American University and The University of Texas, he compiled a record of 599 wins and 343 losses in 34 seasons.
Lemons was born in Ryan, Oklahoma and given the initials-only name "A.E.". He grew up in the town of Walters, Oklahoma and graduated from Walters High School in Spring 1941.
He earned a basketball scholarship to play for Southwestern Oklahoma Teachers College (now known as Southwestern Oklahoma State University). and their long-time coach Rankin Williams.
After United States entered World War II in December 1941, he joined the Merchant Marine. He served in the Pacific and often referred to the pressures of his war experience to put sports pressures into perspective.
After the war, he enrolled at Hardin College, which had just added a four-year senior college in 1946. He was a 6 foot 4 inch center/forward for the Indians, who finished 4-15 under first-year head coach Fermon “Red” Rutledge, during the 1946-47 season.

Oklahoma City, lying in the Great Plains region, features one of the largest livestock markets in the world. Oil, natural gas, petroleum products and related industries are the largest sector of the local economy. The city is situated in the middle of an active oil field and oil derricks dot the capitol grounds. The federal government employs large numbers of workers at Tinker Air Force Base and the United States Department of Transportation's Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (these two sites house several offices of the Federal Aviation Administration and the Transportation Department's Enterprise Service Center, respectively).

Oklahoma City University, often referred to as OCU or OKCU, is a coeducational, urban, private university historically affiliated with the United Methodist Church. It is located in the uptown district of Oklahoma City, in the U.S. state of Oklahoma.
The university offers undergraduate bachelor's degrees, graduate master's degrees and doctoral degrees, organized into eight colleges and schools and one Methodist seminary. Students can major in more than 70 undergraduate majors, 17 graduate degrees, including a JD, MBA and PhD in Nursing, and an Adult Studies Program for working adults to earn a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree. The university has approximately 4,000 students, including 1,600 graduate students. OCU has a large student life network including athletics, honor societies, clubs and student organizations and fraternities and sororities. The official school and athletic colors are blue and white. Alumni have gone on to prominent careers in government and law, business, education, sports, arts, and entertainment.
Abe Lemons Arena is a multi-purpose arena on the campus of Oklahoma City University in Midtown Oklahoma City.
It is the home arena of the OCU Stars athletic teams, and in 2007 was to be home to the Oklahoma City Cavalry of the Continental Basketball Association. The arena seats 3,500.
