Konjic is a beautiful city in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegowina, located at the extreme north of Herzegowina.

The city lies in a valley on both side of river Neretva. The charm and antiquity of the city are some of the reasons why Cities in 4K made a stop there.
Although Konjic is known through his history as a trading city in the past and as a traditional wood carving center, there are a lot of nature beauties in and around this amazing town. The most popular, which are part of the video, is the Boracko lake, Jablanicko lake, ethno village “Raj u raju”, rafting on river Neretva. In the video Konjic in 4K you can also see the bridges, mosques and other significant buildings in Konjic.

A Walk Around Konjic.
On the way back to Banja Luka from our trip to Blagaj, we stopped off for an overnight break at Konjic.
It also gave me the opportunity to meet with the team at Visit Konjic.
In the coming months I will be partnering with Visit Konjic to show you some of the amazing activities you can take part in whilst discovering this beautiful country.

Now some fun facts and history.
Konjic is a town and municipality located in northern Herzegovina, around 50 kilometres (31 mi) southwest of Sarajevo.
It is a mountainous, heavily wooded area, and is 268 m (879 ft) above sea level. The municipality extends on both sides of the Neretva River.
The city is one of the oldest permanent settlements in Bosnia, dating back almost 4000 years; the city in its current incarnation arising as an important town in the late 14th century.
Konjička Stara Ćuprija (Stara Ćuprija = Old Bridge) was built between 1682 and 1683 by Ali-aga Hasečić (as shown by a stone plaque at the center of the bridge).
It was built over six slightly pointed stone arches.
It is the best preserved Ottoman bridge in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The arches were destroyed by the retreating German army in March 1945.
The bridge was rebuilt in its original state between 2003 and 2009.
The bridge is now proclaimed a National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

početka funakcioniranja ovoga aerodroma. Radi se o pravim raritetima iz 1968., 1969. i 1970.
godine na koje nismo nigdje naišli tokom brojnih godina entuzijastičkog bavljenja ovim poslom
i za koje smo dobili eskluzivnu dozvolu javnog predstavljanje u edukativne svrhe.
Korištene fotografije su vlasništvo Hrvatsko državnog arhiva (HDA) iz Zbirke fotografija

operations of this AFB complex. This is a real rarity from 1968., 1969. and in 1970., which we
haven't encountered anywhere during many years of reashrces.
We got an exclusive license for public presentation of these materials for
educational purposes.
Used photos are the property of Croatian State Archives (CSA) from the Collection of photos
of 5th Army District HR HDA 1211.
On these photographs can be seen brand new AFB Željava-Bihać.

Konjic
Konjic is a town and municipality in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located in northern Herzegovina, around 50 kilometres (31 mi) southwest of Sarajevo. It is a mountainous, heavily wooded area, and is 268 m (879 ft) above sea level. The municipality extends on both sides of the Neretva River. The town of Konjic, housed about a third of the total municipality population.
The city is one of the oldest permanent settlements in Bosnia, dating back almost 4000 years; the city in its current incarnation arising as an important town in the late 14th century. Today, the population of Konjic municipality is estimated at 26,000 people.
History
The area near the town is believed to be settled up to 4000 years ago, and settlements around 2000 years ago by Illyrian tribes travelling upstream along the Neretva River have been found. Konjic was earliest recorded by name in the records of the Republic of Ragusa on 16 June 1382. The town, being part of the Bosnian kingdom, was incorporated into the Ottoman Empire, of which the lasting feature for the town (apart from the many mosques and bringing of Islamic faith) is the Ottoman-inspired bridge which features in the town's coat of arms, and later into the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Bordered by Croatia to the north, west, and south; Serbia to the east; Montenegro to the southeast; and the Adriatic Sea to the south, with a coastline about 20 kilometres (12 miles) long surrounding the city of Neum. In the central and eastern interior of the country the geography is mountainous, in the northwest it is moderately hilly, and the northeast is predominantly flatland. The inland is a geographically larger region and has a moderate continental climate, bookended by hot summers and cold and snowy winters. The southern tip of the country has a Mediterranean climate and plain topography.

Konjička Stara Ćuprija (Stara Ćuprija = Old Bridge) was built between 1682 and 1683 by Ali-aga Hasečić (as shown by a stone plaque at the center of the bridge).
It was built over six slightly pointed stone arches.
It is the best preserved Ottoman bridge in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The arches were destroyed by the retreating German army in March 1945.
The bridge was rebuilt in its original state between 2003 and 2009.
The bridge is now proclaimed a National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On the way back to Banja Luka from our trip to Blagaj, we stopped off for an overnight break at Konjic.
It also gave me the opportunity to meet with the team at Visit Konjic.

Opet lete vrbaske laste-Mišo Vidović Najbolju vrbasku lastu na ovogodišnjem „Ljetu na Vrbasu“ izveo je Dario Mišlicki.Ovaj Banjalučanin nakon dvije serije skokova bio je najbolji u konkurenciji 25 skakača-letača iz BiH (Banja Luka, Konjic, Mostar, Bugojno, Sarajevo, Zenica), i Srbije i Crne Gore(Užice,Kolašin, Novi Sad).Drugoplasirani bio je Borko Miladinović iz Užica, dok je treće mjesto osvojio Sanel Selman iz Mostara. Medjutim, čini se da je najviše interesa bilo za „vrbasku lastu“.Kako smo saznali, još desetak momaka bilo je spremno da se sa „perde“ polete prema prema Vrbasu ,ali prema onome što se nezvanično moglo čuti iz krugova bliskih organizatoru- Turističkoj organizaciji Banja Luka, „iz tehničkih razloga nije bilo moguće primiti sve zainteresovane takmičare“.Iz gradske turističke organizacije poručili su da iduće godine „ne isključuju mogućnost da se poveća broj takmičara u ovoj disciplini“. Jedan broj skakača 1.avgusta u Banja Luku je doputovao iz Užica.Tamo su dan ranije održani skokovi s mosta.Neki su prvi put imali „susret“ sa Gradskim mostom i Vrbasom, pa su vrijeme do početka takmičenja koristili da izvedu probne skokove, da , kako su rekli, isprobaju most i rijeku.Obećali su da će doći i iduće godine. U revijalnom dijelu programa okupljeni kod Gradskog mosta „počašćeni“ su i izvodjen„preloma“.
