Nikon Corporation (株式会社ニコン, Kabushiki-gaisha Nikon) (UK /ˈnɪkɒn/ or US /ˈnaɪkɒn/; listen [nikoɴ]), also known just as Nikon, is a Japanese multinational corporation headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, specializing in optics and imaging products.
Its products include cameras, camera lenses, binoculars, microscopes, ophthalmic lenses, measurement instruments, and the steppers used in the photolithography steps of semiconductor fabrication, of which it is the world's second largest manufacturer. The companies held by Nikon form the Nikon Group. Among its products are Nikkor imaging lenses (for F-mount cameras, large format photography, photographic enlargers, and other applications), the Nikon F-series of 35 mm film SLR cameras, the Nikon D-series of digital SLR cameras, the Coolpix series of compact digital cameras, and the Nikonos series of underwater film cameras. Nikon's main competitors in camera and lens manufacturing include Canon, Sony, Fujifilm, Lumix, Pentax, and Olympus.
Founded on July 25, 1917 as Nippon Kōgaku Kōgyō Kabushikigaisha (日本光学工業株式会社 "Japan Optical Industries Co., Ltd."), the company was renamed Nikon Corporation, after its cameras, in 1988. Nikon is one of the subsidiaries of Mitsubishi.

We compare the new Canon 70D (http://bit.ly/Can7oD) with Nikon's mid-level DSLR - the D7100 (http://bit.ly/NikD7100) - to see which one is best for you. The Canon comes with some new tech under that polycarbonate shell: dual pixel CMOS tech and some old trusted tech in the form of the 7D focusing system. But is it better than the Nikon? The Nikon D7100 is the latest in a line of midlevel DSLR cameras to be released. As always the big questions are, how does this camera rank against the D7000 that it replaced as well as its Canon counterparts. Well this review is not about how one camera matches up against another but it how the D7100 is as a camera. First off this camera sells for $1,199 body only and currently is Nikons top of the line DX camera since the D300s has yet to be replaced. We all know that as cameras progress the tech inside continues to get better and better. The D7100 definitely benefits from some major tech updates. This is how I like to do my reviews, I like to use the ca...

Very Much Worth Watching in 1080p! Please subscribe & share if you would like to see epic shootouts like this! Had such a positive response from my last Epic Shootout, that I took the opportunity to do one on the Canon 70D and Nikon D7100, testing the most important functions of each camera in a head to head comparison. I spend a lot of time on the opening sequence so you guys know this is a piece of work that is important to me and not one that I take lightly. I know all shooters are very passionate about their respective brands and I want to be as fair and unbiased as possible, so I hope you enjoy the Epic Movie Teaser Opening and especially results I share in this shootout. As always, I am sure there will be plenty of criticism and scrutiny about my tests, so if you have comments or...
