My search for
LED job-site lighting led me to the
Milwaukee tool company who sell a high quality line of
LED lighting
Compact and Durable
Design
The Milwaukee stand light has an impact resistant, tri-pod leg design that results in a low center of gravity for sturdy deployment. The light head is protected by an impact-resistant lens and bezel, and it secures and stores into a protective shroud for secure transport and storage.
The LED head tilts 90-degrees and pivots 180-degrees allowing focused, direct lighting or indirect light, it attaches to a telescoping mast which can extend from 4-feet up to 7-feet. Cordless, hands free lighting at it’s best!
The telescoping mask is controlled by locking levers and the mast slides easily up and down to adjust the lighting height.
The stand light folds up quickly and easily by depressing the “leg release button.”
Once folded up it measures 40-inches and can be easily transported by its integrated upper handle.
It weighs 14.15 pounds and additional 2 pounds when the
5.0 Ah battery is attached.
Light Output
The Milwaukee stand light provides 2,
000 lumens of high definition light output for in its high mode, 1,
300 in medium and 850 in low, and it can run for up to 4, 6, or 10 hours with an
M18, XC 5.0 battery pack.
High: 2,000 lumen – 4 hour runtime
Medium: 1,300 lumen – 6 hour runtime
Low: 850 lumen – 10 hour runtime
While not as bright as a halogen light, it is more durable, runs much cooler, and there are no cords to trip over.
Light
Quality
This is where Milwaukee engineers really geeked out. They engineered this light with high quality
LEDs with a neutral white color and a high color rendering index. They call this technology “Trueview.” The light head has a specially designed reflector to produce an even beam pattern.
The result is of this high definition lighting technology is that it delivers a true representation of colors, optimized color temperature, and an even beam.
Contractors that work with wires will appreciate the true color representation.
Improvements
The one area where I think Milwaukee missed the mark was on the power source. I'd prefer to see a dual source power, similar to their Trueview LED
Flood Light 2630-20, which has a recessed, male plug that can easily attach to an extension cord.
Overall
Impression
I really like the durable, tripod design.
It’s a versatile and efficient light, that is super fast to deploy!
