Frederik Magle (born 17 April 1977 in Stubbekøbing) is a Danish composer, concert organist, and pianist.
Frederik Magle is the son of actress and writer Mimi Heinrich and painter and sculptor Christian Reesen Magle (1925-96). He is the great-nephew of the composer Emil Reesen (his grandmother's brother). Frederik Magle studied composition and music theory with Leif Thybo, organ-playing with Ib Bindel, and attended the Royal Danish Academy of Music where he studied composition and organ. The first public performance of his compositions took place on easter morning 7 April 1985, in Stubbekøbing church. His father died in 1996, shortly before the first performance of Frederik Magle's christmas cantata A newborn child, before eternity, God!, which is dedicated to him.
He has gained a reputation as an organ virtuoso and has also been involved in organ construction, creating the tonal design for a 25-ranks pipe organ in Jørlunde church, Denmark, which was inaugurated in October 2009. In 2010 he released a double CD, Like a Flame, with free improvisations recorded on the Jørlunde-organ.
