David Steinberg (born August 9, 1942) is a Canadian comedian, actor, writer, director, and author. At the height of his popularity, during the late 1960s and early 1970s, he was one of the best-known comics in the United States. He appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson more than 130 times (second only to Bob Hope in number of appearances) and served as guest host 12 times, the youngest person ever to guest-host. Steinberg directed several films and episodes of many of the most successful television situation comedies of the last twenty years, including Seinfeld, Friends, Mad About You, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and more than 35 episodes of Designing Women.
Since 2012, Steinberg has hosted the interview program Inside Comedy on the Showtime network.
Born the son of Yasha, a strict, Romanian-born rabbi, and Ruth Steinberg in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, David initially studied theology in Israel. Later, while studying English Literature at the University of Chicago, he decided to become a comedian after seeing Lenny Bruce perform. He finished school and was discovered by one of the founders of The Second City in Chicago, which he joined in 1964. There he performed with Robert Klein, Fred Willard, Peter Boyle, and Joe Flaherty. He remained with the group for six years. In 1972, Steinberg was best man at the wedding of his friend, the gangster Crazy Joe Gallo.

David Steinberg (born in 1996) is a crossword constructor and editor. At 14, he became the second-youngest person to publish a crossword in The New York Times during Will Shortz's editorship. At 15, he became the youngest published constructor in the Los Angeles Times and the youngest known crossword editor ever for a major newspaper (The Orange County Register). Steinberg is also the founder and director of the Pre-Shortzian Puzzle Project.
Steinberg was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and raised in California and Washington. In middle school, he was introduced to the New York Times crossword puzzle by his parents and, after seeing Merl Reagle build a puzzle in the movie Wordplay, began constructing. He attended Turtle Rock Elementary School in Irvine, California, the Lakeside School in Seattle and Palos Verdes Peninsula High School; he currently attends Stanford University.

What a Joke is a 1991 album by the Christian speed/thrash metal band Deliverance. It features many short "joke" songs, hence the title of the album. The album speaks out against those who think the idea of combining Christianity and heavy metal is evil, especially in the song "It's the Beat". "Silent Night" is a cover of the traditional Christmas carol and "After Forever" is a Black Sabbath cover. After being out of print for many years, the album was reissued in 2011 with new cover art on Intense Records.
David (Bulgarian: Давид) (died 976) was a Bulgarian noble, brother of Emperor Samuel and eldest son of komes Nicholas. After the disastrous invasion of Rus' armies and the fall of North-eastern Bulgaria under Byzantine occupation in 971, he and his three younger brothers took the lead of the defence of the country. They executed their power together and each of them governed and defended a separate region. He ruled the southern-most parts of the realm from Prespa and Kastoria and was responsible for the defence the dangerous borders with Thessalonica and Thessaly. In 976 he participated in the major assault against the Byzantine Empire but was killed by vagrant Vlachs between Prespa and Kostur.
However, there's also another version about David’s origin. David gains the title "comes" during his service in the Byzantine army which recruited many Armenians from the Eastern region of the empire. The 11th-century historian Stepanos Asoghik wrote that Samuel had one brother, and they were Armenians from the district Derjan. This version is supported by the historians Nicholas Adontz, Jordan Ivanov, and Samuil's Inscription where it’s said that Samuel’s brother is David. Also, the historians Yahya and Al Makin clearly distinguish the race of Samuel and David (the Comitopouli) from the one of Moses and Aaron (the royal race):
David (Spanish pronunciation: [daˈβið]) officially San José de David is a city and corregimiento located in the west of Panama. It is the capital of the province of Chiriquí and has an estimated population of 144,858 inhabitants as confirmed in 2013. It is a relatively affluent city with a firmly established, dominant middle class and a very low unemployment and poverty index. The Pan-American Highway is a popular route to David.
The development of the banking sector, public construction works such as the expansion of the airport and the David-Boquete highway alongside the growth of commercial activity in the city have increased its prominence as one of the fastest growing regions in the country. The city is currently the economic center of the Chiriqui province and produces more than half the gross domestic product of the province, which totals 2.1 billion. It is known for being the third-largest city in the country both in population and by GDP and for being the largest city in Western Panama.
David is a life-size marble sculpture by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The sculpture was one of many commissions to decorate the villa of Bernini's patron Cardinal Scipione Borghese – where it still resides today, as part of the Galleria Borghese It was completed in the course of seven months from 1623 to 1624.
The subject of the work is the biblical David, about to throw the stone that will bring down Goliath, which will allow David to behead him. Compared to earlier works on the same theme (notably the David of Michelangelo), the sculpture broke new ground in its implied movement and its psychological intensity.
Between 1618 and 1625 Bernini was commissioned to undertake various sculptural work for the villa of one of his patrons, Cardinal Scipione Borghese. In 1623 – only yet 24 years old – he was working on the sculpture of Apollo and Daphne, when, for unknown reasons, he abandoned this project to start work on the David. According to records of payment, Bernini had started on the sculpture by mid–1623, and his contemporary biographer, Filippo Baldinucci, states that he finished it in seven months.

No, he’s not someone’s accountant – David Steinberg is our featured comedian on this episode. He rose to fame using his childhood as inspiration for one of his most popular bits, "The Sermon". He was a member of Second City for four years, inspired by Lenny Bruce, and was hated by Richard Nixon (always the sign of a creative artist with a conscious!). He was a part of "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour" television show firing scandal and was the voice of a generation. * Listen in as Kelly, Tom and I look back at the career and legacy of David Steinberg and his 1974 album, “Booga Booga.” You can hear the entire podcast at the link below. Stand Up Comedy "David Steinberg" 1980's
George Stroumboulopoulos asks comedian, comedy writer and host of Showtime's 'Inside Comedy' David Steinberg about what it's like to look at the world through the lens of comedy, what it was like being the opening act for famous jazz musicians, and why he chose to interview Jerry Seinfeld alongside Don Rickles on the show. It was Jerry, by the way, who coined the title of a new documentary about David's legacy that premiered at the Hot Docs festival in Toronto. CBS cut this sermonette from an episode of the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour that was to be broadcast in April 1969. Then, CBS decided to fire Tommy and Dick Smothers and censored the entire episode, even after this sermonette was deleted. Tommy and Dick Smothers sued CBS for breach-of-contract, winning a settlement in the early 1970s. I'm so tired of all this guile
Homo's saying they're not perverted
It's an alternative lifestyle
Law enforcement, politicians and businessmen
These days with most of them
Corruption is a synonym
We fight this battle not against evil
Against those who think they are good
I've not stolen, murdered or destroyed
God will let me in!
What a joke
God will laugh at your calamity
What a joke
He will mock when your terror comes
Want to be intellects spew
"There is no God"
Proving themselves fools, liars and frauds
Remnant prays this battle against evil
Against those who perceive they are right
They've not stolen, murdered or destroyed
God must let them in!
What a joke
God will laugh at your calamity
What a joke
He will mock when your terror comes
What a joke
Despising knowledge, choosing not to fear
What a joke
Complacency of fools will destroy
