Seat Time : Episode 40 : Bromance Level

This week's episode starts the beginning of our new format. Without Bloody anymore, we need talent to bench race with us. Caleb Ramsey is the first addition to the Seat Time couch squad. We go through all the Loretta Lynn's double header action, the last WORCS event (including our man Kurt Caselli's 3rd WORCS title) and the season opener of the 2011-2012 TORO series. For those that don't know, Seat Time was out at the Loretta Lynn's GNCC to put on another Awesomeness Competition. The fans loved it; having something to do between the ATV podium and the Parts Unlimited dinner. With great prizes from all the GNCC Sponsors, the competitors took multiple tries to be the 'Most Awesome'. XC1 Champion - Charlie Mullins The racing at Loretta Lynn's was spectacular. Charlie Mullins had a healthy points lead, but still needed to secure the championship. Friday was disappointing for Mullins, as he wrecked himself out of the race. Paul Whibley capitalized, taking the win from Mullins. Cory Buttrick had his strongest finish of the year, landing second on the podium. And Josh Strang took advantage of Mullins misfortune, by finishing in third, cutting the points lead in half. Sunday saw misfortune for multiple riders. Strang, Buttrick and DuVall all wrecked themselves out of the race. DuVall was the only one who didn't need to go directly to the hospital. This was all great for Mullins, who once was out front, was untouchable. When he crossed the finish line, he was over 2 minutes ahead of Kaluib Russell. Russell fought hard with Paul Whibley towards the end to get that second spot in the podium. Whibley though, being the veteran he is, was able to ride hard to the finish for third place. The WORCS event in Surprise, AZ was no surprise at all. Kurt Caselli rode smart and consistent to wrap up his third WORCS tile. Taylor Robert and Mike Brown were going back and forth all weekend, with Robert being the benefactor, getting the Overall win. Brownie finished second on the weekend and this solidified his second overall for the year. Robert finished out the season in third. Destry Aboott also retired from full time off-road racing after the event. It will be sad to not see his familiar face out and about anymore. He is certainly a stable in the off-road community. TORO kicked off ist 2011-2012 season with a race at Rocky Ridge. And as the name implies, it was held on a ridge and it was rocky. With four past TORO champions on the line, everyone knew they were in for some great racing. Cole Kirkpatrick got the holeshot and early lead. From there, he never looked back and sailed in for first place. Cameron Ishmael, Haydn Franklin and Caleb Ramsey though all had to fight for their positions. Ishmael and Ramsey found themselves fighting through the pack due to their bikes not firing first kick. After working their way into second and third respectively, Ramsey had a near death experience with a tree, allowing Franklin to make a pass into third. Bryan Vaughn rode in the front pack for awhile, finishing fifth behind Ramsey. From what we have heard, the first race was a huge success. Starting off with a great recon and finishing with some Red Bull girls, music and good times. We look forward to many more great TORO events and hope that we'll see you at the races. This weekend, we will see the final round of TSCEC in Muenster, TX. Haydn Franklin will make his victory lap as he as already solidified his 7th TSCEC championship. LACC will be having their last round of the season at Desoto MX Park just south of Shreveport, LA and the Raines Riding University will be in Pittsburg, TX for a three day class. Plenty of racing and riding to be had, make sure you have a fun and safe weekend and we look forward to seeing y'all in the future.
