Kudur-Mabuk was a ruler in the ancient Near East city-state of Larsa from 1770 BC to 1754 BC. His sons Warad-Sin and Rim-Sin I were kings of Larsa. His daughter En-ane-du was high priestess of the moon god in Ur.
Kudur is a place in the southern state of Karnataka, India. It is located in the Magadi taluk of Ramanagara district in Karnataka.
As of 2001 India census, Kudur had a population of 7653 with 3938 males and 3715 females. The location is accessible from Solur (around 18 km to kudur) or from Marur handpost (around 5 km to Kudur). Both these locations lie right on NH 48 (Bangalore-Mangalore Highway).
Travel by KSRTC bus direct to Kudur from Bangalore makes it convenient. Alternately any bus going towards Kunigal, Hassan, will stop at one of the above locations, from which there are private bus services that can be leveraged to reach Kudur. Since the location is around 65 km from Bangalore driving down may be a good alternative, too. The roads leading to the location is good for the most part of it.
Kudur is a place, where horses were cared n used for wars during olden days. "Kudurammana Jatre" also known as " konda" is among the well known annual celebrations performed for the well being of the people of kudur. "Ramanavami Utsava" is another noted annual celebration in the village.
