Maharaja Ranjit Singh (13 November 1780 – 20 June 1839) was the first Maharaja of the Sikh Empire.
Ranjit Singh belonged to a Sikh clan of Northern India. He was born in Gujranwala, now in modern-day Pakistan. According to some historians, into a Jatt Sikh family and some that he was born into a Sansi Sikh family who were Sukerchakia misldars. As a child he suffered from smallpox which resulted in the loss of one eye. At the time, much of Punjab was ruled by the Sikhs under a Confederate Sarbat Khalsa system, who had divided the territory among factions known as misls.
Ranjit Singh's father Maha Singh was the Commander of the Sukerchakia misl and controlled a territory in the west Punjab based around his headquarters at Gujranwala. After his father's death he was raised under the protection of Sada Kaur of the Kanheya Misl. Ranjit Singh succeeded his father at the age of 18. After several campaigns, he conquered the other misls and created the Sikh Empire.
Pashtun King Amir Ahmad Shah Abdali 1747–1772 of Afghanistan Durrani Known as Kings of Kings first crossed the Indus River in 1748, the year after his ascension – his forces sacked and absorbed Lahore during that expedition. The following year (1749), the Mughal ruler was induced to cede Sindh and all of the Punjab including the vital trans Indus River to him, in order to save his capital from being attacked by the Afghan Pashtun forces of the DurraniEmpire.

Plot: Amarchandra lives a poor lifestyle in British India along with his mom, dad, Baba Thakur, and a sister. His dad works as a guard with the British Army, which is commandeered locally by George. When Governor Jackson and his daughter, Diana, visit the region, Amarchandra launches a protest and also leads villagers to a meeting that is being addressed by Mohandas Gandhi much to the chagrin of his father. Nevertheless, Amarchandra continues with his protests, and even humiliates Jackson. Then Jackson orders additional men and ammunition via a train from Delhi to deal with Amarchandra, who finds out and decides to sabotage and blow up the train. Little does he know that he will soon be betrayed by one of his own men, Bahadur, and not only he, but his father, as well as his sweetheart, Swarnamukhi, will all be killed. Years later in an independent India, Amarchandra will be re-born as Ashok, an unemployed, middle-classed, slacker and trouble-maker, who lands a job with TV24 as a reporter, and will soon be pitted against the corrupt and seemingly invincible 80 year old Bahadur, who now calls himself Vijay Kumar, and who is soon to be the country's Prime Minister.

Plot: 55 years after attaining independence from the British, India still continues to struggle against issues such as crime, poverty, malnourishment, and corruption. A honest businessman Ranjit Singh, who is forced to bribe the State Chief Minister, Bandrekar, and a Pakistani ISI Agent, Ansari, so that he can open an arms factory; Megha, a press reporter, who witnesses the death of 3 terrorists at the hands of Raj, the son of the Chief Minister; D.C.P. Arun Bedi, who at one time was known as the Sarfaresh-E-Hind, is now a mere tool in the hands of his politically-motivated superiors and politicians; Ranjit's son, Amar, who is a college student, gets killed by terrorists; Pappu, the Chief Minister's married son, carries on with a number of prostitutes in his residence; and a crippled soldier sings and bemoans the regression everywhere. Amidst this background, Raj recalls that his father had killed his mother during his childhood, and has him arrested - knowing fully well that his father is a man who had not hesitated to kill his wife, will not surely spare him. The question remains: Will the authorities be able to protect the son against the father? And who will even attempt to stop Ansari from inflicting sectarian and religious violence?

Plot: After the passing away of their parents, Ravi Anand, the eldest of seven brothers, takes it upon himself to raise them - albeit a little wild and kinda animal-like. The brothers all sport long beards, hate taking showers/baths, and above all hate Ravi bossing them around. When Ravi tries to convince Nurse Sheela to marry his friend, Shekar, he mistakenly lectures the wrong girl, Indu, and as result Ravi falls head over heels in love with her. But Indu is not available to marry any stinky creep, who has not washed himself in weeks, so Ravi shaves, washes, dresses up smart, successfully woos Indu and marries her. After the marriage, Indu is shocked when she gets to meet the rest of his terrifying brothers, all the more when Ravi did not even mention that he had more than one brother. Nevertheless, Indu decides to make a go of this marriage, instills some sense and responsibility amongst the brother and soon becomes pregnant. Then her wheel-chair bound friend, Seema Singh, and five of her girlfriends come over to stay with them, resulting in some more changes taking place, this time with the rest of the brothers - who too smarten up like Ravi and start wooing Seema's friends. Then one day Ravi is abducted by Seema's paternal uncle, Ranjit Singh and his men, and held in an underground cellar on an isolated island. The person who takes Ravi's place is his look-alike, an ex-convict, Babu. His mission to find Seema and kill her so that Ranjit can claim her inheritance, and if necessary, kill anyone else who dares to oppose him.

Plot: Kishinchand has taken to a life of crime, namely that of forging passports, and for that is under surveillance by the police. Upon his wife, Shanti's, and son, Pyarelal's insistence, he decides to give up all criminal activity and become honest. Then Shyamlal approaches him to make a fake passport, which he does, for a suitcase full of gold bars. Shyamlal escapes, but Inspector Shinde confronts Kishinchand and in the scuffle that follows, Shinde gets killed. Kishinchand re-locates to London, England, where he is now known as underworld Don, King. He has given up on his wife and son and believes they had been burned alive in a fire during Diwali. Now years later, a young man approaches and informs him that he is Pyarelal, and that Shanti is still alive in India. Kishinchand is overjoyed, and invites his wife to come to London right away, only to find out that the man claiming to be his son, is really Ronnie, a con-man and smuggler. Kishinchand is re-united with his real son and wife and all seems to be going well, until he finds out that the man claiming to be his son is really Ram Shinde, the son of the Police Inspector he had accidentally slain, and is really out to kill him. Not only is Ram after Kishinchand's life, but a woman named Sonia Singh also wants him dead, as due to his slaying Shinde, her innocent father was convicted for this crime and spent 14 years behind bars. The question remains, where is the real Pyarelal, and who will finally succeed in killing Kishinchand?

Plot: Lawyer Rakesh Singh is devastated when his wife, Geeta, passes away after a brief illness. After the funeral Rakesh can think of nothing but her, and this leads him to depression. To confound this, Inspector Daljit informs him that a thug named Sunaina, who has been recently apprehended by the police alongwith members of her gang, claims that she is Geeta, Rakesh is astounded at this and goes to meet this woman, who does indeed resemble his wife. Rakesh, however, does not believe that she is his wife, as he himself had cremated her with his own hands. But this woman is adamant, the matter goes to court, which must find out whether this woman is really Geeta or an imposter, before trying her for her crimes.

Plot: Even though India attained independence from the British, several Maharajas continue with their oppressive regimes including widower Balbirsingh. Living with him in his mansion are his rather subdued children: Pratap, Hemlata, Rajendra and Ashalata. They are instructed to conduct themselves as royals even when alone with their father, who they can only address as 'Your Highness'. For several years Hemlata has lost the use of her legs, is refusing treatment, tasteless food, and wants to die. Balbir then appoints Dr. Sanjay to treat her, he does so enthusiastically, she responds positively, and both are drawn to each other and fall in love. With the Government threatening to dismantle such regimes, Balbir must first deal with Hemlata's romance, and then decides to contest elections, ensure that he wins by hook or by crook, so that he can continue to rule the region with impunity.
