Le documentaire attirera l'attention sur le charme mondial de la cité ocre qui attire, chaque année, quelque 2 millions de touristes qui viennent profiter de son cadre féérique.
L'émission projettera de la lumière, également, sur le poids des coutumes qui se heurtent parfois à l'élan que voit la ville, un élan qui ne prend point en considération le caractère conservateur du pays.
Un autre visage sera présenté lors de cette enquête exclusive, celui de l’essor économique de Marrakech qui a causé des dégâts importants à la nature, notamment le dépouillement de palmiers ancestraux.
Cependant, cet élan touristique a bien profité à la ville avec 6 millions d'euros de rentes annuellement à l'économie marocaine et une satisfaction pour les artisans et, également, pour la place mythique de Jemaa El Fna.

This is from my visit to Morocco (Marakech and Agadir) in october 2011.
The film shows:
The Medina (old town) with the wellknown Jema el-Fna square during daytime and nightmarket.
At the Medina you find a lot of Riads, small family own hotels with an open space/garden in the middle.
Jardin Majorelle, was own by Yves Saint Laurent until his death in 2008.
In the Souk (at the Medina) you can buy almost everything. It is also hard to find the way there. It is like walking in a maze.
A restaurant visit with a balancing dance performance is also shown on the film.
A horseride in the evening.
The wellknown Koutoubia mosque. Maybe the most common view from Marrakesh.
The ruins of Palais el Badi. The ruins have an interesting story.
Finally a bustour to Agadir and a few pictures from there. The city is situated at the atlantic coast and was completely destroyed of an earthquake on february 29 1960. The city was rebuilt so the buildings are mainly from 1960 or newer. Agadir, with its beach is a holiday resort for lots of people.

Marrakech or Marrakesh (Berber: ⵎⴻⵕⵕⴰⴽⴻⵛ Merrakec or Murakuc, Arabic: مراكش Murrākuš, local pronunciation: Mərrakəš), known as the "Ochre City", with a population of over 1,000,000 inhabitants is the most important former imperial city in Morocco's history. The city of Marrakesh is the capital of the mid-southwestern economic region of Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz, near the foothills of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, being also the third largest city in Morocco according to the 2004 census.
Like many Moroccan cities, the city of Marrakesh comprises both an old fortified city (the medina) and modern neighborhoods, the most prominent of which is Gueliz, for a total population of 794,620 and 1,063,415 in the metropolitan area (2004 census). It is served by Ménara International Airport (IATA code: RAK) and a rail link to Casablanca and the north.
Marrakesh has the largest traditional Berber market (souk) in Morocco and also has one of the busiest squares in Africa and the world, Djemaa el Fna. The square bustles with acrobats, story-tellers, water sellers, dancers and musicians. By night food stalls open in the square turning it into a huge busy open-air restaurant.

A visit to Marrakech
This is from my visit to Morocco (Marakech and Agadir) in october 2011. The film shows: The Medina (old town) with the wellknown Jema el-Fna square during daytime and nightmarket. At the Medina you find a lot of Riads, small family own hotels with an open space/garden in the middle. Jardin Majorelle, was own by Yves Saint Laurent until his death in 2008. In the Souk (at the Medina) you can buy almost everything. It is also hard to find the way there. It is like walking in a maze. A restaurant visit with a balancing dance performance is also shown on the film. A horseride in the evening. The wellknown Koutoubia mosque. Maybe the most common view from Marrakesh. The ruins of Palais el Badi. The ruins have an interesting story. Finally a bustour to Agadir and a few pictures from there. The c... -
