Performance management and results
The Australian Government is determined to ensure that taxpayer’s money spent on the aid program is being well managed and achieving progress towards key goals.
To do this, a new performance framework, Making Performance Count, was launched by the Minister for Foreign Affairs on 18 June 2014. This framework outlines how we measure and report on the performance and results of the aid program.

Office of Development Effectiveness
The Office of Development Effectiveness (ODE) at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade plays a key role in building stronger evidence for a more effective aid program.
ODE monitors the performance of the aid program, evaluates its impact and contributes to international evidence and debate about aid and development effectiveness.
