Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (From Doom to Doom), also known by the initialism QSQT, is a 1988 Indian romantic drama film directed by Mansoor Khan. Written and produced by Nasir Hussain, the film is an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. It stars Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla in the lead roles. Upon release, the movie was a major success, was declared a blockbuster at the box office, and shot its leading stars to fame overnight. It was also the first major hit for the music-director duo of Anand-Milind and singers Udit Narayan. It was singer Alka Yagnik's first complete album.
Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak's music, romantic storyline , and young actors shifted the momentum away from the violent and aging ethos that were prevalent in the films at the time. It made melodious tunes once again popular over the 80's trend of disco- and breakdance-influenced soundtracks. Indiatimes Movies ranks the movie amongst the "Top 25 Must See Bollywood Films".
It won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, and seven Filmfare Awards from eleven nominations including Best Film, and Best Director for Mansoor Khan.
