A short film about the transcendental quality of friendship. Friendship is, in many ways, involuntary. It does not require the common grounds of age, perspective or even cultural background in order to formulate. Today the roles of the old and young have been reversed. Where children learn the fundamentals of language from their grandparents, today the old learn the fundamentals of technology from the wise youth. Such is this story. The story of a young man, a complete party animal and his strict, old fashioned landlady. It is also the story of an old woman, forgotten and forgetful, and her attempts to reconnect with a world obsessed with technology. It is the story of their bonding. The story of an unlikely but honest human connection in a world where even the most loved ones are viewed on a screen.

Talking about her heroes, Kamini Kaushal reminisces, unlike his screen image Dev Anand (“Ziddi”) was very shy and focussed on his work. “I used to think how I will work with such a reticent actor. Raj Kapoor (“Jail Yatra”, “Aag”) was an incorrigible prankster and supremely confident. When we worked for the first time, he sold me the dummy that he is a very experienced actor and I remained under the impression for a long time till I discovered that he is just one film old. Dilip Kumar was quiet and sincere.”
Her romantic chemistry with Dilip Kumar stood out and gossip mills were full of stories of their affair with the thespian almost admitting that he had a crush on Kaushal. “It was like I loved all my sisters but with the eldest one I shared a special bond,” says Kaushal. Her eyes light up when one refers to the scene in “Shaheed” where young freedom fighter’s eyes well up at the time of leaving his beloved. “He used to plan his every movement in advance and I was a cheery girl who believed in spontaneous reactions. We used to have disagreements, where I would chide him for not being natural and he would listen patiently but still do his own thing.” The two worked together in four films: “Shaheed”, “Nadiya Ke Paar”, “Shabnam” and “Arzoo” and in each one of them Kaushal’s name came above Dilip Kumar in the credits.

Kamini Kaushal
Kamini Kaushal (born 16 January 1927) is a Hindi film and television actress, most noted for her roles in films like Neecha Nagar (1946) which won the 1946 Palme d'Or (Golden Palm) at Cannes Film Festival and Biraj Bahu (1955) which won her the Filmfare Best Actress Award in 1955. She played lead heroine in films from 1946 to 1963 wherein her roles in Do Bhai, Shaheed(1948), Ziddi, Shabnam, Nadiya Ke Paar, Arzoo, Paras(1949), Namoona, Jhanjar, Aabru, Night Club, Jailor, Bade Sarkar and Godaan are considered her career's best performances. She played character roles since 1963 and was critically acclaimed for her performances in Shaheed (1965),in 3 films of Rajesh Khanna like Prem Nagar, Do Raaste, Mahachor and with Sanjeev Kumar - Anhonee (1973 film) and 8 films with Manoj Kumar.
Early life
Kamini Kaushal was born Uma Kashyap in Lahore on 16 January 1927. She was the youngest among two brothers and three sisters. Kamini Kaushal was the daughter of Prof Shiv Ram Kasyap Professor of Botany, Punjab University at Lahore, British India (now in Pakistan). Prof Kashyap is widely regarded as father of Indian Botany. Her father was a distinguished botanist who discovered six species of plants.While she was only seven when her father died on 26 November 1934. She did her B.A. (honours) in English literature from Kinnaird College in Lahore. She got an offer to act in films through Chetan Anand in 1946 for the film Neecha Nagar.

It's all about Indian girl power all the way! Making a mark on the global map, seven Indian celebrated personalities including singer Asha Bhosle, tennis star Sania Mirza and veteran actress Kamini Kaushal have made it to BBC's list of 100 most aspirational women. The list was announced on Wednesday, read a statement.
Each year, BBC names 100 women - a mix of influential women who are world leaders in politics, science and entertainment, as well as less popular but inspirational women from all over the world.
Other names to crop up in the list are Rimppi Kumari (farmer), Smriti Nagpal (entrepreneur), Mumtaz Shaikh (campaigner) and Kanika Tekriwal (entrepreneur).
The names of the celebrities have taken their stories of success to the world with their dedication and hardwork. Legendary singer Asha, who started working in Bollywood in 1943, has recorded songs to be mimed in 1,000 films by hundreds of actresses.
And Kamini, better known as the Vivienne Leigh of her generation in Bollywood, has acted in more than 100 films. She was the leading actress in Neecha Nagar which won best film in Cannes in 1946 - the first Indian film to do so.
Rimppi is a farmer who, along with her sister Karamjit, took over a 32-acre farm in Rajasthan after their father died. Sania's story is not hidden to anyone. She is one of India's most successful tennis players and in 2015 was both the Wimbledon and US Open women's doubles champion.
Smriti was inspired by her work as a sign language interpreter in India, which has the largest deaf population in the world, to set up Atulyakala. Mumtaz's fight to get free facilities for women through the Right to Pee network earned her the honour. She ensured 96 toilets were free for women to use in Mumbai and made the government set aside 50 million rupees ($770) to build female-only urinals around the city.
After being diagnosed with cancer in her early 20s, Kanika was determined to make her mark. She established India's first and only marketplace for private jet and helicopter charters.

It's all about Indian girl power all the way! Making a mark on the global map, seven Indian celebrated personalities including singer Asha Bhosle, tennis star Sania Mirza and veteran actress Kamini Kaushal have made it to BBC's list of 100 most aspirational women. The list was announced on Wednesday, read a statement.
Each year, BBC names 100 women - a mix of influential women who are world leaders in politics, science and entertainment, as well as less popular but inspirational women from all over the world.
Other names to crop up in the list are Rimppi Kumari (farmer), Smriti Nagpal (entrepreneur), Mumtaz Shaikh (campaigner) and Kanika Tekriwal (entrepreneur).
The names of the celebrities have taken their stories of success to the world with their dedication and hardwork. Legendary singer Asha, who started working in Bollywood in 1943, has recorded songs to be mimed in 1,000 films by hundreds of actresses.
And Kamini, better known as the Vivienne Leigh of her generation in Bollywood, has acted in more than 100 films. She was the leading actress in Neecha Nagar which won best film in Cannes in 1946 - the first Indian film to do so.
Rimppi is a farmer who, along with her sister Karamjit, took over a 32-acre farm in Rajasthan after their father died. Sania's story is not hidden to anyone. She is one of India's most successful tennis players and in 2015 was both the Wimbledon and US Open women's doubles champion.
Smriti was inspired by her work as a sign language interpreter in India, which has the largest deaf population in the world, to set up Atulyakala. Mumtaz's fight to get free facilities for women through the Right to Pee network earned her the honour. She ensured 96 toilets were free for women to use in Mumbai and made the government set aside 50 million rupees ($770) to build female-only urinals around the city.
After being diagnosed with cancer in her early 20s, Kanika was determined to make her mark. She established India's first and only marketplace for private jet and helicopter charters.
