Sivakumar (Tamil: சிவகுமார்; born 27 October 1941 as Palanichamy Gounder) is a Tamil cinema actor who has portrayed a wide range of character roles onscreen. Sivakumar was introduced in the Tamil movie Kaakum karangal (1965) which was produced by AVM Productions.
Though he came as side actor to the industry, He has starred in the role of leading man and character actor in many Tamil movies such as Kandan Karunai, Thunivae Thozhan and Uyarndha Manidhan. He has acted in nearly 200 films till date. He is a three time winner of Filmfare Awards and a recipient of Tamil Nadu State Film Awards. His roles in Marupakkam and Sindhu Bhairavi showed his versatility as an actor, with the former winning the Golden Lotus Award for Best Feature Film
Sivakumar is married to Lakshmi and the couple have three children; two sons who are actors, Surya Sivakumar and Karthik Sivakumar, and a daughter Brindha Sivakumar.

Plot: Sivakumar (Vishal) is an ordinary guy working in a mobile service center in small town Madurai, who falls for a school teacher (Lakshmi Menon). His father (Bharathiraja), a retired government employee shows much care on Sivakumar's elder brother. Meanwhile there is big mafia gang led by a tough guy Simmakkal Ravi(Sharath Lohitashwa), who rules Madurai with an iron fist. Sivakumar's brother, an honest government officer gets into his bad books and is bumped off. Now, the helpless father and the meek son draw up separate plans to eliminate the bad guy.

Plot: At a Keralite Christian wedding, a young man in the audience watches mournfully as the woman of his dreams walks down the aisle. Flashback, a young wannabe filmmaker Kartik (Simbu) shares a house with a Keralite family, whose daughter Jessie (Trisha) he instantly falls in love with. After a few minor spurns, Kartik chases Jessie to her hometown and gradually begin a relationship. Trouble brews when her family finds out, leading to fist-cuffs, and Jessie's father fixing her marriage with a boy within the community. The couple continue to meet, but as his filmmaking career starts to take off, there is new friction in their relationship and a drastic step from Jessie.
