A dialogue from the Katha Upanishad between Nachiketa and Yama (the god of death).
This video is based on a dialogue from the Katha Upanishad between Nachiketa and Yama (the god of death). For his third boon, Nachiketa asked Yama to explain to him the mystery of what comes after death. Yama's reply explains the core of Hindu Philosophy or Advaita Vedanta i.e the doctrine of non-duality. It explains who we really are and how to realize our true self.

In Hindu mythology, Yama (Sanskrit: यम) is the lord of death, first recorded in the Vedas. Yama belongs to an early stratum of Indo-Iranian theology. In Vedic tradition Yama was considered to have been the first mortal who died and espied the way to the celestial abodes, thus in virtue of precedence he became the ruler of the departed. In some passages, however, he is already regarded as the god of death. Yama's name can be interpreted to mean "twin", and in some myths he is paired with a twin sister Yamī.
Yama is assisted by Chitragupta who is assigned with the task of keeping complete records of actions of human beings on the earth, and upon their death deciding to have them reincarnated as a superior or inferior organism, depending on their actions on the earth (Karma).

I call this remix "Yama's Shadow Temple." It is named after the Buddhist/Hindu god of death, the underworld, the afterlife, reincarnation and purgatory, Yama. I felt that the association with Buddhism was appropriate for this piece. Unlike my other dungeon/temple Zelda remixes, this cover deviates a lot more from the main melody. Hopefully, you will still be able to enjoy the aesthetic and ambiance of this dark, mysterious composition.
I primarily used Tibetan instruments to create this song. I used a variety of tibetan cymbals and bells, and a jogi baja, which is a Tibetan woodwind instrument. Most of the voices are recordings of Tibetan throat singing, but there is also some Gregorian chant present. I used a Japanese Chu-Daiko for the drumming, as I felt it fit very well with this particular piece. This time, contrary to my usual orchestral setup, I used only two European instruments including a Celtic wire strung harp and a contrabass to add to those sinister basey notes. I created and mixed it in Abletone Live from scratch.
I'm planning on doing many more dungeon themes from other Zelda games, including Wind Waker, Majora's Mask, Minish Cap, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, A Link Between Worlds and Link's Awakening.

DO NOT agree with Atsuro when he says 'We should leave'. If you do so, Midori will leave, die and THEN Keisuke will rejoin the party.
This battle is....complicated. It can be annoying, but in reality it's not too hard. It's just very complex. Basically, the mission fails if Keisuke dies, even though he is a foe. The mission fails if the one citizen who to be honest, no one is going to give a damn about dies. And also if any of the tamer cops are defeated by anyone except your team, the mission is a failure.
First, Prioritize your attacks on the tamer cops. It is near vital that you defeat them by all your team's first turns, otherwise the demons and/or Yama will have a field day owning a tamer cop with just 1HP. If Keisuke attacks you, DON'T KILL HIM. Only kill his demons. If you want, you can drain him of all MP so his attacks don't do smack. When the tamer cops have left the field, Yama will turn on you. At this moment Keisuke will move back and attack no one. Ideally by now you will have killed all of the demons.
To be perfectly honest, Yama is actually not that hard. True his Agidyne and Maragi are brutal, but he spends MP quite quickly and then it's down to simple attacks. That Stone effect was most certainly a lucky hax, but I'm not sure if I really needed it.
Of and if you want to crack anything in this battle, CRACK MAGIC YANG! One of the best abilities in the game since it halves the amount of MP a spell requires to work. The only downside is that it applies to the enemy too. Oh and also crack Agidyne.
wn.com/Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor Boss Battle Three Yama (Shiba Park 13 00)
Historical Facts: Yama is the god of death in Hinduism. In the Vedas,Yama was the first mortal to die, and by precedence he became the ruler of the departed.

Story :
Vājashravasa, desiring a gift from the gods, started an offering to donate all his possessions. But Nachiketa noticed that he was donating only the cows that were old, barren, blind, or lame;[5] not such as might buy the worshiper a place in heaven. Nachiketa wanting the best for his father's rite, asked: "I too am yours, to which god will you offer me?". After being pestered thus, Vājashravasa answered in a fit of anger, "I give you to Death (Yama)".
So Nachiketa went to death's home, but the god was out, and he waited three days. When Yama returned, he was sorry to see that a Brahmin guest had been waiting so long. He told Nachiketa, "You have waited in my house for three days without hospitality, therefore ask three boons of me". Nachiketa first asked for peace for his father and himself. Yama agreed. Next, Nachiketa wished to learn the sacred fire sacrifice, which also Yama elaborated. For his third boon, Nachiketa asked to learn the mystery of what comes after death.
Yama was reluctant on this question. He said that this had been a mystery even to the gods. He asked Nachiketa to ask for some other boon, and offered many material gains.
But Nachiketa replied that material things will last only till the morrow. He who has encountered Death personally, how can he desire wealth? No other boon would do. Yama was secretly pleased with this disciple, and elaborated on the nature of the true Self, which persists beyond death. The key of the realization is that this Self (within each person) is inseparable from Brahman, the supreme spirit, the vital force in the universe. Yama's explanation is a succinct explication of Hindu metaphysics, and focuses on the following points:
The sound Om! is the syllable of the supreme Brahman
The Soul, whose symbol is Om is the same as the omnipresent Brahman. Smaller than the smallest and larger than the largest, the Soul is formless and all-pervading.
The goal of the wise is to know this Soul.
The Soul is like a rider; the horses are the senses, which he guides through the maze of desires.
After death, it is the Soul that remains; the Soul is immortal.
Mere reading of the scriptures or intellectual learning cannot realize Soul.
One must discriminate the Soul from the body, which is the seat of desire.
Inability to realize Brahman results in one being enmeshed in the cycle of rebirths. Understanding the Self leads to moksha
Thus having learned the wisdom of the Brahman from Yama, Nachiketa was freed from the cycle of births.

Extraterrestrials! Are they real? What do Hinduism and Swamiji say? Plus... an experience!

For the first time in years, I'm opening up about one of the topics my channel is known for: ETs! I'm answering one of my most frequently asked questions, which is why I keep the Arcturian video up if I don't talk about it any more, and also getting into the topic of whether or not the Hindu tradition has any information about beings from other planes and places. (Which, spoiler alert, it does!) At the end of the video, I share one of my most favourite experiences for the very first time.
Besides what I say in the video, there are a few points I'd love to mention here:
1. The Vedic scriptures mention extraterrestrial beings A LOT! They give in-depth descriptions of their flying craft, called "Vimanas." Different star systems were named; for example, Arcturus is called "Swathi," and Pleiades is called "Kartika." What we call "aliens," they called Rishis, Munis, Devas, Devathas, and more.
2. Swamiji Paramahamsa Sri Nithyananda said the word "alien" is wrong; we should call these other worldly beings "aligned," because they are!
3. As the subject of extraterrestrials becomes more popular in society, and even "rational" people are starting to become open to disclosure thanks to television programs like Ancient Aliens and Hangar One, I feel we are truly being prepared for an imminent revelation that they have been visiting us all along. This is supported by the fact that Swamiji has declared that SOON all humanity will know extraterrestrials are real, because they are making contact.
4. Someone asked Swamiji about Crop Circles during the recent special Inner Awakening called Nithyanandoham. He told us that He scanned them, (looked at the phenomenon with His third eye,) and found they are created by Extra Terrestrials! (No surprise! And no wonder I felt so much diving energy when I visited those sacred circles in England a few years ago!)
If you're ready to experience your own superconsciousness, experience and express divine powers, and receive the best possible training by a living enlightened avatar... and even ask Him whatever you want to know about beings from other places and planes... come to Inner Awakening! www.innerawakening.org
Some of Swamiji's quotes about extraterrestrials:
"For millions of years we were declaring that there are extra terrestrial beings - but they are not aliens. Because we are all part of one organism."
"There was a time, aliens were not aliens to us. Please understand, when your mind divides, divides, divides, even the other country people are called aliens. No, this is the extreme stupidity some of the so-called developed countries call the other country citizens as aliens. There was a time, we were so vast in our heart, the Satya Yuga, even aliens were not aliens, they were smoothly, easily able to go and come. That was the time this story (Katha Upanishad, the story of Natchiketa and Lord Yama,) happened, where a 7 year old kid can walk up to Yama’s abode! Yama comes showing his form clearly. Aliens were not aliens in those days; I hope, again, the same space will come back." (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kelBREZbUzA)
"Advaitha has only three major components: Jeeva, Ishwara, Jagat. Jiva means the soul, you. Ishwara means the God, Whole. Jagat means the Nature, Cosmos. We completely missed the component of humanity, society. Only a few scriptures add humanity, society, into Jagat, the world! But most of the scriptures don’t even mention human society, civilization, humanity, as a component of the cosmos! Understand? For you to achieve, the knowledge is enough, jiva, ishwara, jagat... The amount of knowledge they had about the Aliens: Deva, Devata, Gandharva, Kinnara, Yaksha, Rakshasha, Pisacha, Rishi, Muni, Kindara, Kinduga... we did not give that much of time in the scriptures to complete with our neighbours!" (Amazing to see the names of all different extraterrestrial beings in Sanskrit! Found: https://www.facebook.com/ma.nithya.sudevi/posts/10152174784595764)

This solo piano piece is titled after the Hindu god of death Yama. In mythology, Yama inhabits a palace Kalichi in Patala, the Hindu underworld. Sometimes Yama will ascend from his palace in Patala to Prithvi or earth. He will ride on his waterbuffalo and carry a mace in one hand to strike down the living and a noose in the other to drag their souls to the underworld. His has many attendants and the road to his palace is guarded by two dogs with four eyes.

Nachiketa (Sanskrit: नचिकेत / नचिकेतस्, Hindi: नचिकेता, Bengali: নচিকেতা) was a son of the sage Vājashravasa (Sanskrit: वाजश्रवसः, famed for donations) is the child protagonist in an ancient Hindu fable about the nature of the soul and Brahman. The story is told in the Katha Upanishad (c. 5th century BCE), though the name has several earlier references.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katha_Upanishad
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yajurveda
He was taught Self-knowledge, the separation of the human soul (the supreme Self) from the body, by the god of Death, Yama.
Nachiketa is noted for his rejection of material desires which are ephemeral, and for his single-minded pursuit of the path of realising Brahman / Moksha i.e. emancipation of the soul from rebirth.
Vājashravasa, desiring a gift from the gods, started an offering to donate all his possessions. But Nachiketa noticed that he was donating only the cows that were old, barren, blind, or lame;
not such as might buy the worshiper a place in heaven.
Nachiketa wanting the best for his father's rite, asked: "I too am yours, to which god will you offer me?". After being pestered thus, Vājashravasa answered in a fit of anger, "I give you to Death (Yama)".

Thus having learnt the wisdom of the Brahman from Yama, Nachiketa was freed from the cycle of births.
