Ob sie wirklich The Nice Guys sind, sei einmal dahingestellt. Auf jeden Fall sind Holland March (Ryan Gosling) und Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) ein ungewöhnliches Gespann: March ist Privatdetektiv und alleinerziehender Vater der 13-jährigen Holly (Angourie Rice), Healy arbeitet eigentlich als Schläger. In den 1970er Jahren untersuchen die beiden in Los Angeles den Tod eines ehemaligen Pornostars, wofür sie versuchen, eine gewisse Amelia (Margaret Qualley) aufzuspüren.
Für die Medien ist der Tod der einstigen Erotikdarstellerin Misty Mountains natürlich ein gefundenes Fressen, doch die Tante des Starlets glaubt, ihre Nichte auch noch nach deren Dahinscheiden gesehen zu haben. Unterdessen haben auch zwei Auftragskiller (Keith David und Beau Knapp), ein Filmvorführer (Jack Kilmer) und die undurchsichtige Judith Kuttner (Kim Basinger) ihre Finger im Spiel. Je länger das Duo ermittelt, desto stärker glauben die ungleichen Männer an eine Verschwörung, in die auf mysteriöse Weise auch die Autoindustrie verwickelt ist.

/ˈniːs/, French pronunciation: [nis]; Niçard Occitan: Niça [classical norm] or Nissa [nonstandard], Italian: Nizza or Nizza Marittima, Greek: Νίκαια, Latin: Nicaea) is the fifth most populous city in France, after Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Toulouse, with a population of 348,721 within its administrative limits on a land area of 71.92 km2 (28 sq mi). The urban area of Nice extends beyond the administrative city limits with a population of about 1 million on an area of 721 km2 (278 sq mi). Located on the south east coast of France on the Mediterranean Sea, Nice is the second-largest French city on the Mediterranean coast after Marseille.
The city is called Nice la Belle (Nissa La Bella in Niçard), which means Nice the Beautiful, which is also the title of the unofficial anthem of Nice, written by Menica Rondelly in 1912. Nice is the capital of the Alpes Maritimes département and the second biggest city of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region after Marseille.

The Nice were an English progressive rock band from the 1960s, known for their blend of rock, jazz and classical music. Their debut album, The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack was released in 1967 to immediate acclaim. It is often considered the first progressive rock album. The Nice are also a forerunner of the much more widely known Emerson, Lake & Palmer.
The Nice consisted initially of keyboardist Keith Emerson, bassist/vocalist Lee Jackson, drummer Brian Davison, and guitarist David O'List, more commonly known as "Davy". The band took their name from Steve Marriott's slang term for being high, a term he used in the song "Here Come the Nice". Marriott originally wanted to give the name to a band he was producing, called The Little People. Andrew Loog Oldham took it upon himself to rename The Little People Apostolic Intervention, and dubbed the Emerson, Jackson, Davison, O'List group "The Nice". Emerson's autobiography Pictures of an Exhibitionist suggests that the name originated with a suggestion from P. P. Arnold. The reference to "being high" is not mentioned, instead a routine by hipster/comic Lord Buckley is quoted.

Russell Ira Crowe (born 7 April 1964) is a New Zealand born Australian actor, film producer and musician. He came to international attention for his role as Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius in the 2000 historical epic film Gladiator, directed by Ridley Scott, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Actor, a Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Actor, an Empire Award for Best Actor and a London Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actor and ten further nominations for Best Actor. Crowe appeared as the tobacco firm whistle blower Jeffrey Wigand in the 1999 film The Insider, for which he received five awards as Best Actor and seven nominations in the same category. In 2001, Crowe's portrayal of mathematician and Nobel Prize winner John F. Nash in the biopic A Beautiful Mind brought him numerous awards, including an BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor category Motion Picture Drama and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role.

Handlung von The Nice Guys Ob sie wirklich The Nice Guys sind, sei einmal dahingestellt. Auf jeden Fall sind Holland March (Ryan Gosling) und Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) ein ungewöhnliches Gespann: March ist Privatdetektiv und alleinerziehender Vater der 13-jährigen Holly (Angourie Rice), Healy arbeitet eigentlich als Schläger. In den 1970er Jahren untersuchen die beiden in Los Angeles den Tod eines ehemaligen Pornostars, wofür sie versuchen, eine gewisse Amelia (Margaret Qualley) aufzuspüren. Für die Medien ist der Tod der einstigen Erotikdarstellerin Misty Mountains natürlich ein gefundenes Fressen, doch die Tante des Starlets glaubt, ihre Nichte auch noch nach deren Dahinscheiden gesehen zu haben. Unterdessen haben auch zwei Auftragskiller (Keith David und Beau Knapp), ein Filmvorführer (Jack Kilmer) und die undurchsichtige Judith Kuttner (Kim Basinger) ihre Finger im Spiel. Nice is the Côte d'Azur's fascinating and colorful city located on the curve of Angel Bay, a metropolis that has lost little of its turn of the century charm. It is also a place of contrast with all the pulsating life of an international city mixed with the rich Mediterranean flair of the south.
The magnificent Promenade Des Anglais was named after the resort's former large contingent of English visitors and was built during the 19th century.
The historical centre of the city, Vielle Ville, has become the home of Arabian immigrants, thus couscous features prominently on the menu. The old fish market is the most beautiful on the entire Côte d'Azur and its traditional displays of seafood are a feast to the eye.
The Russian Tsars also spent much time in Nice and around 1900, a Russian Orthodox Church was built. With its six eye-catching onion-shaped domes, it was designed by the Russian architect, Preobrajensky, and is the most beautiful example of its kind in the western hemisphere. The foundations of the building were designed in the shape of a Greek crucifix and the interior features a remarkable collection of Russian icons.
A good way to visit numerous places of interest is by taking a journey on a small sightseeing train known as the Azur Express.
Just outside Nice, there are some remarkable Roman ruins and a villa on the excavated site contains the Matisse Museum that features each of the famous artist's sculptures.
Nice is more than 'nice' -- joie de vivre never had it so good!

Nice is the Côte d'Azur's fascinating and colorful city located on the curve of Angel Bay, a metropolis that has lost little of its turn of the century charm. It is also a place of contrast with all the pulsating life of an international city mixed with the rich Mediterranean flair of the south.
The magnificent Promenade Des Anglais was named after the resort's former large contingent of English visitors and was built during the 19th century.
The historical centre of the city, Vielle Ville, has become the home of Arabian immigrants, thus couscous features prominently on the menu. The old fish market is the most beautiful on the entire Côte d'Azur and its traditional displays of seafood are a feast to the eye.
The Russian Tsars also spent much time in Nice and around 1900, a Russian Orthodox Church was built. With its six eye-catching onion-shaped domes, it was designed by the Russian architect, Preobrajensky, and is the most beautiful example of its kind in the western hemisphere. The foundations of the building were designed in the shape of a Greek crucifix and the interior features a remarkable collection of Russian icons.
A good way to visit numerous places of interest is by taking a journey on a small sightseeing train known as the Azur Express.
Just outside Nice, there are some remarkable Roman ruins and a villa on the excavated site contains the Matisse Museum that features each of the famous artist's sculptures.

Actually we like Nice much more than Paris. Monaco, meh... we are not too sure yet. It may take another couple of trips.
