Zlatni Rat
The Zlatni Rat, often referred to as the Golden Cape or Golden Horn (translated from the local Chakavian dialect), is a spit of land located about 2 kilometres (1 mile) west from the harbour town of Bol on the southern coast of the Croatian island of Brač, in the region of Dalmatia. It extends into the Hvar Channel, a body of water in the Adriatic Sea between the islands of Brač and Hvar, which is home to strong currents. The landform itself is mostly composed of a white pebble beach, with a Mediterranean pine grove taking up the remainder.
The beaches on either side of the spit extend for some 634 metres (2,080 ft) altogether, but the exact shape and length of the landform varies with regard to changes in tide, current, and wind. The farthest end, which is usually turned slightly towards the east, will often shift to the west in certain weather conditions, esp. a strong south-easterly Sirocco wind (known in Croatia as the Jugo). The surrounding waters are usually cool and very clear, due to the current in the Hvar Channel. The current is mildly hazardous for swimmers who decide to venture far directly southwards from the tip towards the open sea, as it could be difficult to swim back west towards the beach (the swimmer being effectively well over 150 metres (492 ft) from the coast); the danger is not severe, however, as the standard current would merely take the swimmer back east towards the harbor of Bol (and the beaches on the promontory of land that lies between Zlatni Rat and the town). A reliable afternoon westerly wind known as a Maestral has made the beach a destination for windsurfers.

Bol Town, Brac Island & Zlatni Rat Beach [CROATIA's GEM]
Bol Town on Brac Island is a beautiful, peaceful town along the Croatian coastline. It is only a one hour ferry ride from Split. Zlatni Rat Beach in Bol is probably one of the most famous beaches in Croatia and I can see why. We visited this gem of a place in late May, so we were able to enjoy the beach without the summer crowds. Yes, the water is still a bit cold but we were able to have a refreshing swim since the sun is pretty hot. Bol was an amazing start to our island hopping adventure along the Dalmatian Coast! Bol Town on Brac Island is a beautiful, peaceful town along the Croatian coastline. It is only a one hour ferry ride from Split. Zlatni Rat Beach in Bol is probably one of the most famous beaches in Croatia and I can see why. I'm not sure about the world, but I haven't found a more beautiful beach and cleaner sea in Europe.

It was created by deposits of fine pebbles as sediment around the underwater reef, spreading as a small tongue as much as 500 metres into the sea. Zlatni rat is a natural phenomenon and is solely built by nature without any human intervention. The beach is growing - it is getting longer over the years. The latest data shows that from 2006 until today, Zlatni rat beach grew in length by roughly 80 meters. This location is a favorite spot for windsurfers and kite-surfers from around the globe.
Zlatni rat beach is only 2 km from Bol, and you can reach it either by car or by a 20-minute walk along the sea. If you choose to go there by car, there is a parking spot for you to leave your vehicle there for the day and it costs around 25 EUR. During the summer months, every half an hour there is a small tourist train going to the beach, as well as tourist boats that take off from the port of Bol and costs 5 EUR one way. The ride is fun along the coast and takes 10-15 minutes.
An interesting fact about this beach is that it changes its shape and position depending on the wind, tide, and the current, and sometimes, the tip of the beach rotates so significantly that it forms a small pool.
Usually, the mornings are windless, and the wind blows every afternoon, but one side of the beach always has calm water and offers perfect conditions for families with small children.

Bol Town on Brac Island is a beautiful, peaceful town along the Croatian coastline. It is only a one hour ferry ride from Split. Zlatni Rat Beach in Bol is probably one of the most famous beaches in Croatia and I can see why. We visited this gem of a place in late May, so we were able to enjoy the beach without the summer crowds. Yes, the water is still a bit cold but we were able to have a refreshing swim since the sun is pretty hot. Bol was an amazing start to our island hopping adventure along the Dalmatian Coast!

Brac Island & Zlatni Rat beach in summer 2022 - Croatia best beach, 4k video.
Brač is a Croatian island in the Adriatic sea that boasts spectacular nature, picturesque small towns and beautiful beaches with crystal clear waters. Brac is the nearest island to Split and it takes about 1 hour to travel from Split to Brac by ferry.
The main entry point to Brac island is Supetar, its capital and largest town. Brac island is most famous with its large V-shape pebble beach Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn) that changes its shape depending on the wind and tide.
Zlatni Rat is located in the small town of Bol and is one of Croatia's best beaches. To get to Bol you can get a taxi or a bus from Supetar for about 1 hour.
Zlatni Rat beach is 2 km from the central part of Bol and you go through a shady pine trees promenade to reach the beach. Along the way you will see other small beaches.
Zlatni Rat offers various beach activities - aquapark, banana ride, paddle boats and more. There are also a few bars and restaurants on the beach and on the promenade that leads to the beach.

Bol Croatia, the most beautiful beach in Europe and among the 5 most beautiful beaches in the world! Those were the most frequent captions of the articles while I was reading and preparing to visit the island of Brac in Croatia, where this paradise is located. I'm not sure about the world, but I haven't found a more beautiful beach and cleaner sea in Europe.
Nestled on the southern coast of the island of Brač in Croatia, Bol is a picturesque town that has captured the hearts of travelers from around the world. Among its many attractions, one stands out as the crown jewel—the breathtaking Zlatni Rat Beach. Often referred to as the most beautiful beach in Croatia, Zlatni Rat is a natural wonder that epitomizes the charm and allure of the Dalmatian Coast.
Zlatni Rat, also known as the Golden Horn or Golden Cape, is not just a beach; it's a natural phenomenon. This unique spit of land stretches out into the Adriatic Sea, forming a striking shape that changes with the tides, currents, and winds. The beach's golden pebbles, which shimmer under the sun, give it its name and create an almost magical ambiance. Zlatni rat beach is located in Bol, on the island of Brac in Croatia. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean. Thanks to its particular shape, which makes it on of the most exceptional beaches in the world, it is also a symbol of Croatian tourism. It was created by deposits of fine pebbles as sediment around the underwater reef, spreading as a small tongue as much as 500 metres into the sea. Zlatni rat is a natural phenomenon and is solely built by nature without any human intervention. The beach is growing - it is getting longer over the years. The latest data shows that from 2006 until today, Zlatni rat beach grew in length by roughly 80 meters. This location is a favorite spot for windsurfers and kite-surfers from around the globe.
Zlatni rat beach is only 2 km from Bol, and you can reach it either by car or by a 20-minute walk along the sea. If you choose to go there by car, there is a parking spot for you to leave your vehicle there for the day and it costs around 25 EUR. During the summer months, every half an hour there is a small tourist train going to the beach, as well as tourist boats that take off from the port of Bol and costs 5 EUR one way. The ride is fun along the coast and takes 10-15 minutes.
An interesting fact about this beach is that it changes its shape and position depending on the wind, tide, and the current, and sometimes, the tip of the beach rotates so significantly that it forms a small pool.
Usually, the mornings are windless, and the wind blows every afternoon, but one side of the beach always has calm water and offers perfect conditions for families with small children.

Zlatni Rat
The Zlatni Rat, often referred to as the Golden Cape or Golden Horn (translated from the local Chakavian dialect), is a spit of land located about 2 kilometres (1 mile) west from the harbour town of Bol on the southern coast of the Croatian island of Brač, in the region of Dalmatia. It extends into the Hvar Channel, a body of water in the Adriatic Sea between the islands of Brač and Hvar, which is home to strong currents. The landform itself is mostly composed of a white pebble beach, with a Mediterranean pine grove taking up the remainder.
The beaches on either side of the spit extend for some 634 metres (2,080 ft) altogether, but the exact shape and length of the landform varies with regard to changes in tide, current, and wind. The farthest end, which is usually turned slightly towards the east, will often shift to the west in certain weather conditions, esp. a strong south-easterly Sirocco wind (known in Croatia as the Jugo). The surrounding waters are usually cool and very clear, due to the current in the Hvar Channel. The current is mildly hazardous for swimmers who decide to venture far directly southwards from the tip towards the open sea, as it could be difficult to swim back west towards the beach (the swimmer being effectively well over 150 metres (492 ft) from the coast); the danger is not severe, however, as the standard current would merely take the swimmer back east towards the harbor of Bol (and the beaches on the promontory of land that lies between Zlatni Rat and the town). A reliable afternoon westerly wind known as a Maestral has made the beach a destination for windsurfers.
