True American Icons here and I'd like to take this opportunity to recognize Bill Cosby as a recent recipient of The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for Humor award in 2009. If you have a chance to watch the award show, please do. It was incredibly interesting to see Cosby's career and influence on artists you'd never know he had an impact on. Little known fact: Jerry Seinfeld wore white sneakers on the show as an homage to Bill Cosby.

Life goes on much the same - birth - death - struggle mixed with occassional laughter - a few successes. Plants don't grow as tall or water not as clean - it's the harsh reality of living without. Yet the spirit and aspirations of the inhabitants thrives much as those living in light. These worlds within worlds are a place I call Shadowland.

Here's another stage I made using Reggie, the theme here being to run as fast as possible without being crushed by the several King Bills coming from every direction. Two King Bills are always following you while the others come in to destroy the landscape leaving you with little room to maneuver. It's a fun, quick, and somewhat difficult stage, and it was fun making it.

Wilbur "Bill" King (October 6, 1927 - October 18, 2005) was one of the most prominent sports announcers in San Francisco Bay Area history, widely recognized by his distinctive handlebar mustache and beard and his broadcasting catchphrase "Holy Toledo!"
King was best known as the radio voice of the Oakland Athletics baseball team for twenty-five years (1981–2005), the longest tenure of any A's announcer since the team's games were first broadcast in Philadelphia in 1938. Earlier in his career, he had been a member of the San Francisco Giants' original broadcasting team (together with Russ Hodges and Lon Simmons) when the Giants moved west from New York in 1958, had called University of California football and basketball games, and had served as the longtime radio play-by-play announcer for the Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders football team and the San Francisco/Golden State Warriors basketball team.
King was born in Bloomington, Illinois and was stationed on the island of Guam at the end of World War II when he began his broadcasting career with the Armed Forces Radio Network, converting play-by-play accounts of games as they came in over the wire and broadcasting them in a manner that made it sound as if he were actually at the game. After the war, he began his professional sportscasting career in Pekin, Illinois, broadcasting high school football and basketball games as well as minor league baseball games. He later announced basketball games for Bradley University and basketball and football games for the University of Nebraska. King moved to the Bay Area in 1958, when the San Francisco Giants hired him as an announcer.

Holy Roller is a term in American English used to describe Pentecostal Christian churchgoers. The term is commonly used derisively, as if to describe people literally rolling on the floor or speaking in tongues in an uncontrolled manner.
It is generally considered pejorative, but some have reclaimed it as a badge of honor, William Branham wrote: "And what the world calls today holy-roller, that's the way I worship Jesus Christ." Gospel singer Andrae Crouch stated, "They call us holy rollers, and what they say is true. But if they knew what we were rollin' about, they'd be rollin' too."
Merriam-Webster traces the word to 1841. The Oxford English Dictionary cites an 1893 memoir by Charles Godfrey Leland, in which he says "When the Holy Spirit seized them ... the Holy Rollers ... rolled over and over on the floor."
Similar disparaging terms directed at outspoken Christians but later embraced by them include Jesus freaks or, from former centuries, Methodists, Quakers, and Shakers.

William Henry "Bill" Cosby, Jr. (born July 12, 1937) is an American comedian, actor, author, television producer, educator, musician and activist. A veteran stand-up performer, he got his start at various clubs, then landed a starring role in the 1960s action show, I Spy. He later starred in his own series, the situation comedy The Bill Cosby Show. He was one of the major characters on the children's television series The Electric Company for its first two seasons, and created the educational cartoon comedy series Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, about a group of young friends growing up in the city. Cosby has also acted in a number of films.
During the 1980s, Cosby produced and starred in what is considered to be one of the decade's defining sitcoms, The Cosby Show, which aired eight seasons from 1984 to 1992. The sitcom highlighted the experiences and growth of an affluent African-American family. He also produced the spin-off sitcom A Different World, which became second to The Cosby Show in ratings. He starred in the sitcom Cosby from 1996 to 2000 and hosted Kids Say the Darndest Things for two seasons.

Plot: Largely fictional account of the last few years in the life of matinée idol 'Rudolph Valentino (I)' (qv). Regardless of what he was doing professionally, women were attracted to him, and he in turn loved them back which often got him into trouble. After voluntarily leaving a dancing gig due to a dispute with the troupe's leading lady, that gig which brought him to the US, he needed to work a series of odd jobs before movie director Bill King discovered him working as a taxi dancer/gigolo in an upscale dance club. In reality, King's companion that evening, his professional and personal leading lady Joan Carlisle, unofficially discovered Valentino earlier when they had a romance aboard the transatlantic crossing which brought Valentino to the US. At the time, she was traveling incognito under the name Sarah Gray. Valentino's movie career was somewhat stalled until he campaigned for and won the leading role in _The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (1921)_ (qv), after which his career skyrocketed. By his side for most of this period was his friend, Luigi Verducci, who he met at one of those odd jobs. He remained in love with Joan over the remainder of his life, often acting solely in her best interest, but she in return was hot and cold toward him, the coldness due to her belief that he was often using her to further his acting career. It was also both their fondness for King that they often repressed their feelings for each other, but which made working with each other difficult if not impossible.

Two King Bills are always following you while the others come in to destroy the landscape leaving you with little room to maneuver. It's a fun, quick, and somewhat difficult stage, and it was fun making it.
