Thomas Hansen (musician)
Thomas Hansen (February 13, 1976 – September 5, 2007) was a Norwegian alt-country musician performing under the name Saint Thomas (previously St. Thomas).
He became a musician after quitting his job as a mailman after hearing music from Elliott Smith and Will Oldham. He formed a short-lived band called Emily Lang before attempting solo work. His music caught the eye of a very small Norwegian label, which released 200 copies of his debut 7" "Songs," and the French label Darjeeling Sounds released his first proper album Surfer's Morning in limited numbers.
Hansen's biggest break came shortly after Norway's Quart Festival in 1999, where he got signed to Racing Junior. His first album, I'm Coming Home, was preceded by "The Cornerman EP," which was a summer chart success in Norway in 2001. The album then received international releases throughout 2002.
Hansen since released three other albums, and also toured Europe with Lambchop and the United States in 2005 with Of Montreal. His next album, Children Of The New Brigade, was released in August 2005 in Norway by Racing Junior. His work was also released on Misra Records.

St. Thomas (song)
"St. Thomas" is among the most recognizable instrumentals in the repertoire of American jazz tenor saxophonist Sonny Rollins. Although Rollins is commonly credited as its composer, the tune is based on the traditional English song "The Lincolnshire Poacher". By way of the folk process, "The Lincolnshire Poacher" evolved into a nursery song in the Virgin Islands, which Rollins' mother sang to him when he was a child. As such, it has a distinct Caribbean vibe to it.
"St. Thomas" became popular when it was released on Rollins's 1956 album Saxophone Colossus, though it had previously been recorded by Randy Weston in 1955 under the title "Fire Down There", on his Get Happy album. The tune is now considered to be a jazz standard and has been recorded by dozens of artists.
In popular culture
"St. Thomas" was also featured as a track on the JNR 108.5 Radio Station in the 2008 video game Grand Theft Auto IV. It also appears on the soundtrack to the 1988 film Working Girl. The song also is performed on a 1991 episode of "The Cosby Show" entitled "27 and Still Cooking".

St. Thomas's Church (Rateče)
St. Thomas's Church in Rateče, Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, is one of the oldest churches in the upper Sava Valley, confirmed by written documents and excavations as well as the church's original furnishings.
The oldest written document mentioning Rateče is the Vidimus (from Latin: "we saw") by the first Ljubljana Bishop Sigmund Lamberg, which is preserved today in the kapitelj archive of the Ljubljana archdiocesan archives. It is a parchment document created at the time of Bishop Lamberg's visit to Kranjska Gora and is dated January 28, 1467. The Vidimus is a transcript of three manuscripts from the year 1390 (dated May 30, November 12, and December 8) addressing a change in the parish to which the church in Rateče belonged. The church, which until that time had been an affiliate church of the parish of Maria Gail (Slovene: Marija na Zilji) near Villach (Beljak) in Carinthia, was taken from that parish and transferred to the parish of Kranjska Gora in Carniola under a grant by the regent Count Frederick III of Ortenburg. On 8 December 1390, Jan Soběslav, the Patriarch of Aquileia confirmed this change.

It is commonly believed that Christianity came to India with St. Thomas as early as 52 CE. He is said to have landed in Kerala and the religion took root there. He then walked across to Mylapore in present-day Chennai, spoke of a new God in a new land, and left his footprints on the sands of time.
There are many fascinating stories behind how the religion grew, spread and evolved into the many different denominations you see spread across India today. This short video takes you to the tomb of St. Thomas, at Santhome Basilica in Chennai. And it takes you through the story of the arrival of Christianity in India. With this composition I wanted to recreate the speech of a king to his soldiers, motivating them to confront what will be their last battle after years of war. They are a small nation compared to the other ones, but through perseverance and endurement they have been able to fight tirelessly
for a long time now. And the king, who also took part in these battles, being fully aware of his soldiers reaching their limits, decided to stand up and give them one last speech to remind them why they are fighting.
I hope you enjoy it and, as always, thank you so much for listening.
The singer of this project is Thomas Hansen. He's an amazing opera lyric baritone singer, and it really shows. It has been a pleasure to collaborate with him and I can't thank him enough for wanting to be the singing voice of this

When thinking about the lyrics, I decided to write them in latin. There are some phrases I've completely made up and some where I took the liberty of adding, removing or changing words to make them sound better musically speaking. However, I think the overall message is still there. The lyrics and the translation are in the comment section.

The second St. Thomas music video had a twenty times as high budget as "Cornerman." In the video, Thomas is a taxi driver who is listening to and singing along to "Take A Dance With Me," and the passengers in his taxi react differently to the music they hear.
The video was shot in one cold Friday night in October 2001 in Oslo, Norway, and the passengers in Thomas' taxi are members of the St. Thomas band plus friends and relatives of the ones involved in the video project, including the director's father-in-law as the businessman.

With this composition I wanted to recreate the speech of a king to his soldiers, motivating them to confront what will be their last battle after years of war. They are a small nation compared to the other ones, but through perseverance and endurement they have been able to fight tirelessly
for a long time now. And the king, who also took part in these battles, being fully aware of his soldiers reaching their limits, decided to stand up and give them one last speech to remind them why they are fighting.

The singer of this project is Thomas Hansen. He's an amazing opera lyric baritone singer, and it really shows. It has been a pleasure to collaborate with him and I can't thank him enough for wanting to be the singing voice of this

When thinking about the lyrics, I decided to write them in latin. There are some phrases I've completely made up and some where I took the liberty of adding, removing or changing words to make them sound better musically speaking. Con esta composición he querido representar el discurso de un rey hacia sus soldados, motivándoles para afrontar lo que será su última batalla tras varios años de guerras. Comparado con sus naciones vecinas ellos son un reino modesto, pero con perseverancia y aguante han sido capaces de luchar durante todo este tiempo. Y el rey, quién ha acompañado a su ejército en todas sus batallas, se ha dado cuenta de que sus soldados están llegando a su límite. Por ello, decide alzarse y dar un último discurso antes de la batalla final, haciéndoles recordar el motivo por el que han luchado durante tanto tiempo.
