I had a long layover during the day in Narita airport, which is about 1.5 hours away from Tokyo. Though Tokyo was somewhat close by, I decided to visit Narita City, which is only a 10-minute train ride from the airport...was not disappointed!
Though it was a cold & rainy day, it did not stop me or many other tourists from visiting the walking city! The big highlights for me were: Buddhist temple, rows of shops selling snacks to souvenirs, & the food (Unagi and takoyaki).
Tokyo Travel Guide: Narita Airport to Central Tokyo. Here is a quick guide to your transportation options once you land at Narita International Airport, 60km to the east of Tokyo. I decided to purchase the N'Ex Suica Card and took the Narita Express Train to Tokyo Station. Hopefully you find this short video helpful.

There are about 60 kilometers to the west from here Narita Airport to the Tokyo downtown area. Do you go to the Tokyo by bus? Or do you go by train?
This time, we will introduce a trip to Shinjuku by Narita Express to Yokohama and Shinjuku leaving Narita Airport Terminal-1 at 14:44 via Terminal-2, Tokyo, Shibuya Station. As for this train, 4 vehicles in the front are bound for Yokohama, and 4 vehicles in the rear are bound for Shinjuku. The vehicles to Yokohama and to Shinjuku are separated at Tokyo Station. As for the fare, to Shinjuku is 3,190 yen, and to Yokohama is 4,290 yen. It was comfortable movement while looking at the rural scenery of neighborhood of airport and buildings to crowd of the Tokyo downtown area.

First off guys thanks for subbing I have come along way in only a few months of trying my best on this channel. And just today went to this MASSIVE shopping mall in Narita, it was really good, overall Narita is a really good city I was amazed it has lots of things you can do there, this was just one of the places to go, it also has a Humax 8 cinema next door which is cool too.
If you come to Narita airport and you have some time you should see some of what Narita has to offer!

► Here's a look at Omotesando, an old lively street in Narita, lined by numerous restaurants and shops, that have been selling traditional crafts, foods and souvenirs to tourists and pilgrims for centuries.
Omotesando street has more than 150 shops, offering everything from unagi (grilled eel) sembei (rice crackers with soy, seaweed, and spices), to sake and custom made chopsticks of the highest quality.
Visiting this old street is the next best thing to timetravel, so if you happen to be in Tokyo, I strongly recommend visiting here.
Easy access to Omotesando Street from Narita Station (NOT the Narita Airport Station) by Keisei Line. - Enjoy!

(Airport Tour #7) Here is a roughly five-minute partial tour of Narita International Airport, Japan's busiest airport in terms of international traffic. (Haneda Airport, located closer to central Tokyo, is the busiest in Japan and the fourth busiest in the world.) It's 'partial' in that it covers only a section of Terminal 1, but nevertheless it provides a picture of what Narita is like. You'll mainly see Star Alliance aircraft (Thai, Singapore, Swiss, Asiana, United, etc.) since I didn't spend much, if any time in the airport's Oneworld section. The credit card I use gives me two free United Club tickets a year, so I had a chance to use them here in Narita -- you'll see a tour of the club at the end of the video. Enjoy!

Narita (成田市, Narita-shi?) is a city located in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. It is the site of Narita International Airport, the main international airport serving the Greater Tokyo Area.
As of March 31, 2011, the city has an estimated population of 126,235, with 54,021 households and a population density of 590.33 persons per km². Its total area was 213.84 km².
The area around present-day Narita has been inhabited since the Japanese Paleolithic period. Archaeologists have found stone tools dating to some 30,000 years ago on the site of Narita Airport. Numerous shell middens from the Jōmon period, and hundreds of burial tumuli from the Kofun period have been found in numerous locations around Narita. Place names in the vicinity of Narita appear in the Nara period Man'yōshū (although the name “Narita” does not appear in written records until 1408). As Narita is located roughly equidistant from the Pacific Ocean and Tokyo Bay, around a number of small rivers, it was a natural political and commercial center for the region, and gained importance as a pilgrimage destination with the foundation of the noted Buddhist temple of Shinsho-ji in 940 AD. During the Heian period, the area was a center for the revolt of Taira Masakado. During the Edo period, the area continued to prosper as part of the tenryō within Shimōsa Province under direct control of the Tokugawa shogunate.

10-Hour Layover in Narita, Japan!!! What to do?
I had a long layover during the day in Narita airport, which is about 1.5 hours away from Tokyo. Though Tokyo was somewhat close by, I decided to visit Narita City, which is only a 10-minute train ride from the airport...was not disappointed! Though it was a cold & rainy day, it did not stop me or many other tourists from visiting the walking city! The big highlights for me were: Buddhist temple, rows of shops selling snacks to souvenirs, & the food (Unagi and takoyaki). -

There are about 60 kilometers to the west from here Narita Airport to the Tokyo downtown area. Do you go to the Tokyo by bus? Or do you go by train? This time, we will introduce a trip to Shinjuku by Narita Express to Yokohama and Shinjuku leaving Narita Airport Terminal-1 at 14:44 via Terminal-2, Tokyo, Shibuya Station. As for this train, 4 vehicles in the front are bound for Yokohama, and 4 vehicles in the rear are bound for Shinjuku. The vehicles to Yokohama and to Shinjuku are separated at Tokyo Station. As for the fare, to Shinjuku is 3,190 yen, and to Yokohama is 4,290 yen. It was comfortable movement while looking at the rural scenery of neighborhood of airport and buildings to crowd of the Tokyo downtown area. -

AEON Shopping Mall in Narita AMAZING!

And just today went to this MASSIVE shopping mall in Narita, it was really good, overall Narita is a really good city I was amazed it has lots of things you can do there, this was just one of the places to go, it also has a Humax 8 cinema next door which is cool too. (Haneda Airport, located closer to central Tokyo, is the busiest in Japan and the fourth busiest in the world.) It's 'partial' in that it covers only a section of Terminal 1, but nevertheless it provides a picture of what Narita is like. You'll mainly see Star Alliance aircraft (Thai, Singapore, Swiss, Asiana, United, etc.) since I didn't spend much, if any time in the airport's Oneworld section. On 31 July 1997, FedEx Express Flight 14 crashes at Newark Liberty International Airport, United States. On landing, the McDonnell Douglas MD-11F bounces, rolls to the right and flips over, bursting into flames. All five of the people on board survive. On 23 March 2009, FedEx Express Flight 80 crashes on landing at Narita International Airport, Japan, in similar circumstances to that of Flight 14. Both of the pilots are killed in the incident.

There are about 60 kilometers to the west from here Narita Airport to the Tokyo downtown area. Do you go to the Tokyo by bus? Or do you go by train?
This time, we will introduce a trip to Shinjuku by Narita Express to Yokohama and Shinjuku leaving Narita Airport Terminal-1 at 14:44 via Terminal-2, Tokyo, Shibuya Station. As for this train, 4 vehicles in the front are bound for Yokohama, and 4 vehicles in the rear are bound for Shinjuku. The vehicles to Yokohama and to Shinjuku are separated at Tokyo Station. As for the fare, to Shinjuku is 3,190 yen, and to Yokohama is 4,290 yen. It was comfortable movement while looking at the rural scenery of neighborhood of airport and buildings to crowd of the Tokyo downtown area.

And just today went to this MASSIVE shopping mall in Narita, it was really good, overall Narita is a really good city I was amazed it has lots of things you can do there, this was just one of the places to go, it also has a Humax 8 cinema next door which is cool too.
If you come to Narita airport and you have some time you should see some of what Narita has to offer!

(Airport Tour #7) Here is a roughly five-minute partial tour of Narita International Airport, Japan's busiest airport in terms of international traffic. (Haneda Airport, located closer to central Tokyo, is the busiest in Japan and the fourth busiest in the world.) It's 'partial' in that it covers only a section of Terminal 1, but nevertheless it provides a picture of what Narita is like. You'll mainly see Star Alliance aircraft (Thai, Singapore, Swiss, Asiana, United, etc.) since I didn't spend much, if any time in the airport's Oneworld section. The credit card I use gives me two free United Club tickets a year, so I had a chance to use them here in Narita -- you'll see a tour of the club at the end of the video. Enjoy!
