Reading, Writing, Action is the personal blog of Joseph Nhan-O'Reilly. I use it to share good stuff I've come across, along with articles I've written and projects I'm working on in the hope that you might like them too or at least find them interesting.

I have the enormous privilege of working for Save the Children, the world's largest children's rights organisation.

I support a global team of educators and managers committed to increasing access to quality education for the world's poorest children.

The vision of the International Children’s Book Initiative is, ‘More children, reading more and better books’.

I created the Initiative to help close the book gap in developing countries. The Initiative is now operating in Rwanda and Bhutan and is set to be replicated elsewhere.

The Global Partnership for Education is the world’s only multilateral partnership devoted to getting all children into school for a quality education.

I was elected to represent international non-government organisations and Northern civil society on the Partnership’s board in 2011 and re-elected for a second term in 2013.

World Animal Protection (formerly WSPA) works to end animal cruelty across the globe. In communities, in farming, in the wild and during disasters World Animal Protection is moving the world to protect animals.

I was honoured to join the WSPA international board in 2013.

First Read supports families with young children learn together.

Inspired by my own experience of the power and potential of family learning I developed First Read as a way of sharing evidence based approaches to child development and learning with families in developing countries.

Send My Friend to School brings together thousands of children across the UK to speak up for the right to education. It is run by the UK coalition of the Global Campaign for Education.

I led the Coalition’s policy work for many years and remain a committed supporter.
