A highlight film of the 2004-2005 National Football League season, leading up to the conference championship games. Though the Super Bowl itself is not shown, as this was produced the week prior to the big game, the New England Patriots won the championship that year over the Philadelphia Eagles.
This came off of a Super Bowl XXXI-XL DVD collection I own. It most likely aired on FOX hours before the Super Bowl was played.
Personally speaking, this was the year I got into football, and it was crazy. This was at the height of the AFC's dominance over the NFC, as only four NFC teams even finished with a winning record. Even crazier, the two playoff teams that snuck in with 8-8 record (the Rams and Vikings) both won in the first round. Living in Dover, DE, where most of the fans root for the Eagles, it was pretty exciting seeing them finally reach the Super Bowl, even if they came up short.
Also, some of the most excellent musical tracks from the NFL Network series "America's Game" make early-bird cameos in this film.

A highlight film of the 2002-2003 National Football League season, leading up to the conference championship games. Though the Super Bowl itself is not shown, as this was produced the week prior to the big game, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the championship that year over the Oakland Raiders.
This came off of a Super Bowl XXXI-XL DVD collection I own. Judging by the score graphics, it most likely aired on ABC hours before the Super Bowl was played.
Requested by Anthony Gironda.

Malcolm Butler made a miraculous play on the one yard line to save the season for the Patriots at the end of the 4th quarter. The 2014 Patriots became the first team in NFL history to come back from a 10 point deficit in the 4th quarter of a super bowl game and win. The Patriots won the game with a final score of 28-24.

From NFL Films, the 2014 New England Patriots are profiled along with Bill Belichick's famous quote as a head coach with the team, "do your job". Was there more meaning behind Coach Bill Belichick's motto "just do your job" as he mentioned to Pats' players throughout the season and in Super Bowl XLIX? In this documentary, Bill Belichick explains this message more in detail and how it impacted the Patriots to win Super Bowl XLIX over the Seattle Seahawks with a final score of 28-24.

The 10-6 Oakland Raiders are in Foxboro Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts to take on the 11-5 New England Patriots. The famous divisional round game is known as "The Snow Bowl", "The Snow Job", or my own personal favorite, "The Tuck Rule Game". Patriots' kicker, Adam Vinatieri, kicked a 45 yard field goal to send the game into overtime with a score of 13-13 and later on, kicked the game-winning 23 yard field goal in overtime to end the game with a final score of 16-13 Patriots. The head referee was Walt Coleman, the game was aired on CBS, and the announcers were Greg Gumbel and Phil Simms.
Game-time Attendance: 60,292 people
Date of the Game: January 19, 2002
Head Coach of the Oakland Raiders: Jon Gruden

A highlight film of the 1996-97 National Football League season, leading up to the conference championship games.
This came off of a Super Bowl XXXI-XL DVD collection I own. I have no idea when, where, or even IF this ever aired on television, but if it did, it had to have been during the week leading up to the Super Bowl. It may have aired on FOX hours before kickoff that day, but I have no data to support this.
The point is, watch this if only for the wonderful slow-motion film sequences and brilliant synchronization with orchestral music, tropes that NFL Films is known for. On top of that, enjoy one of the craziest years in NFL history, where two second-year expansion teams made it to the conference championships, some nobody named Terry Allen led the league in rushing touchdowns, and the Baltimore Ravens actually had the worst pass defense of all teams.
Narrated by Earl Mann.

A highlight film of the 1994-95 National Football League season, leading up to the conference championship games. Though the Super Bowl itself is not shown, as this was produced the week prior to the big game, the San Francisco 49ers won the championship that year over the San Diego Chargers.
This came off of a Super Bowl XXI-XXIX DVD collection I own. According to a New York Times article I found, it was aired in syndication on the Saturday before the big game.
Also note that this film was edited slightly from its original release, which I think they had to do because of music licensing issues. The original film included music from Aladdin and Forrest Gump, among others.

A highlight film of the 2000-2001 National Football League season, leading up to the conference championship games. Though the Super Bowl itself is not shown, as this was produced the week prior to the big game, the Baltimore Ravens (whoo!) won the championship that year over the New York Giants.
This came off of a Super Bowl XXXI-XL DVD collection I own. It most likely aired on CBS hours before the Super Bowl was played.
For this film and each edition of Road to the Super Bowl until XL (except for XXXVIII, for some reason), Jim Birdsall, who may also be known for his work at CNBC, takes over narration duties from Earl Mann. While I like most of Mann's work, I personally love Birdsall's narration, almost as much as that of Facenda and Kalas.
