The Lord of the Rings is an epic high-fantasy novel written by English author J. R. R. Tolkien. The story began as a sequel to Tolkien's 1937 fantasy novel The Hobbit, but eventually developed into a much larger work. Written in stages between 1937 and 1949, The Lord of the Rings is the best-selling novel ever written, with over 150 million copies sold.
The title of the novel refers to the story's main antagonist, the Dark Lord Sauron, who had in an earlier age created the One Ring to rule the other Rings of Power as the ultimate weapon in his campaign to conquer and rule all of Middle-earth. From quiet beginnings in the Shire, a hobbit land not unlike the English countryside, the story ranges across Middle-earth, following the course of the War of the Ring through the eyes of its characters, the hobbits Frodo Baggins, Samwise "Sam" Gamgee, Meriadoc "Merry" Brandybuck and Peregrin "Pippin" Took, but also the hobbits' chief allies and travelling companions: the Men Aragorn son of Arathorn, a Ranger of the North, and Boromir, a Captain of Gondor; Gimli son of Glóin, a Dwarf warrior; Legolas Greenleaf, an Elven prince; and Gandalf, a Wizard.
Łukasz Jankowski (born 7 December 1982 in Leszno, Poland) is a Polish motorcycle speedway rider who rode for the Poole Pirates in the British Elite League. He is the son of Roman Jankowski, a popular Polish speedway rider. His brothers Marcin and Norbert are also speedway riders.
The Hobbit, or There and Back Again is a fantasy novel and children's book by English author J. R. R. Tolkien. It was published on 21 September 1937 to wide critical acclaim, being nominated for the Carnegie Medal and awarded a prize from the New York Herald Tribune for best juvenile fiction. The book remains popular and is recognized as a classic in children's literature.
Set in a time "Between the Dawn of Færie and the Dominion of Men",The Hobbit follows the quest of home-loving hobbit Bilbo Baggins to win a share of the treasure guarded by the dragon, Smaug. Bilbo's journey takes him from light-hearted, rural surroundings into more sinister territory. The story is told in the form of an episodic quest, and most chapters introduce a specific creature, or type of creature, of Tolkien's geography. By accepting the disreputable, romantic, fey and adventurous sides of his nature and applying his wits and common sense, Bilbo gains a new level of maturity, competence and wisdom. The story reaches its climax in the Battle of the Five Armies, where many of the characters and creatures from earlier chapters re-emerge to engage in conflict.
The Rings is a 1985 Iranian horror mystery film written by director Mohsen Makhmalbaf and directed by Mohammad Reza Honarmand. It tells the story of a reporter investigating the sudden, inexplicable deaths of a growing number of people who had received phone calls informing them of exactly how long they had to live. The word Zangha is Persian for "The Rings" (as in telephone rings).
The citizens of an unnamed city are being terrorized by an extraordinary killer. The victims pick up a ringing phone and are told by a mysterious voice how long they have to live. Invariably, they all die in mysterious ways at the exact specified moment.
A reporter begins to investigate the phenomenon, but the more he investigates the deaths the more mysterious they seem. As he delves into more cases, he becomes personally involved and obsessed. Before long, he finds his family and finally himself targets of the elusive killer. The film ends with the reporter's death. The nature of who or what (if anything) caused the deaths is not resolved in the end, and the audience is left to decide on the film's narrative.

The little dwarf brings so much light-heartedness and humour to the trilogy. I decided to make a group of videos showing those humorous moments. :) I was going to put all the funny moments from all three films in one video but there was to many so I decided to split them into three separate videos, one for each film. But this one is quite short because most of the humour is in the other two films. :) Remember, these are only the funny moments from the Theatrical edition. I know there are some more funny moments in the Extended edition but I don't have the Extended edition. When I get the Extended edition I will make a separate video showing Gimli's funny moments that were cut out of the Theatrical version. I re-uploaded this as ...
Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King ___________________________________ Gandalf: Frodo has passed beyond my sight. The darkness is deepening. Aragorn: If Sauron had the Ring, we would know it. Gandalf: It's only a matter of time. He has suffered a defeat, yes... ...but behind the walls of Mordor, our enemy is regrouping. Gimli: Let him stay there. Let him rot! Why should we care? Gandalf: Because 10,000 Orcs now stand between Frodo and Mount Doom. I've sent him to his death. Aragorn: No. There is still hope for Frodo. He needs time and safe passage across the plains of Gorgoroth. We can give him that. Gimli: How? Aragorn: Draw out Sauron's armies. Empty his lands. Then we gather our full strength and march on the Black Gate. Éomer: We cannot achieve victory through strength...
John Rhys-Davies chats about making Lord of The Rings trilogy and whether he still hangs out with Orlando Bloom, how he filmed scenes as dwarf Gimli, meeting his wife in New Zealand, and why J.R.R. Tolkien books are unfilmable which makes Peter Jackson's achievement in creating the Lord of The Rings movies one of greatest achievements of modern cinema history.
