Barbara may refer to:
Barbara Bain (born September 13, 1931) is an American film and television actress.
Bain was born Millicent Fogel in Chicago, the daughter of Russian Jewish immigrants. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in sociology. Developing an interest in dance, she moved to New York City, where she studied alongside Martha Graham. Dissatisfied with her career as a dancer, she went into modeling; jobs with Vogue, Harper's and other publications followed.
Still uninspired, however, Bain entered the Theater Studio to study acting; first under Curt Conway, then Lonny Chapman. Progressing to the Actors Studio, she was instructed by Lee Strasberg.
Bain's first acting role was in Paddy Chayevsky's play Middle of the Night, which embarked on a national tour in October 1957. Accompanying Bain was fellow actor and newly acquired husband Martin Landau; the final leg of the tour brought the couple to Los Angeles, where they settled permanently. After moving, Bain established herself at the Actors Studio West, where she continues to teach classes and perform scene work.
Susan Elizabeth Strasberg (May 22, 1938 – January 21, 1999) was an American stage, film and television actress.
Strasberg was born in New York City, the daughter of theatre director and drama coach Lee Strasberg of the Actors Studio and former actress Paula Strasberg. Her brother, John, is an acting coach. Her parents were both from Jewish families who emigrated from Europe.
After a widely praised performance as a teenager in Picnic, Strasberg originated the title role in the Broadway production of The Diary of Anne Frank and was nominated for a Tony Award at the age of 18. Strasberg became the youngest actress to star on Broadway with her name above the marquee title. In 1955, she appeared on the cover of Newsweek (December 19, 1955 issue) and twice on the cover of Life Magazine (July 11, 1955 issue; November 11, 1955 issue). She later starred in the Italian Holocaust film Kapò which was nominated for an Academy Award as best foreign film of 1960.
Lee Strasberg (born Israel Strassberg; November 17, 1901 – February 17, 1982) was an American actor, director and acting teacher born in a part of Galicia, Austrian Poland in what is now Ukraine. He co-founded, with directors Harold Clurman and Cheryl Crawford, the Group Theatre in 1931, which was hailed as "America's first true theatrical collective". In 1951, he became director of the non-profit Actors Studio, in New York City, considered "the nation's most prestigious acting school", and in 1966, was involved in the creation of Actors Studio West in Los Angeles.
Although other highly regarded teachers have also taught "The Method", it is Strasberg who is considered the "father of method acting in America," according to author Mel Gussow, and from the 1920s until his death in 1982 "he revolutionized the art of acting by having a profound influence on performance in American theater and movies". From his base in New York, he trained several generations of theatre and film notables, including Anne Bancroft, Dustin Hoffman, Montgomery Clift, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Jane Fonda, Julie Harris, Paul Newman, Ellen Burstyn, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and director Elia Kazan.
Brian Richard Linehan (September 3, 1944 – June 4, 2004) was a Canadian television host from Hamilton, Ontario. Linehan was best known for his celebrity interviews. Linehan was one of seven children. His estranged Irish father, Les, worked at one of the local steel mills, Dofasco; and his Serbian mother, Sava (née Kotur), was later remarried to a post World War II Serb immigrant, Jovan Rodic Sr. He too, was a steel worker.
Linehan was renowned for his composure, interview skills and meticulous research, often leading to in-depth questions that could last for minutes. His guests often responded to his questions with astonishment saying, "How did you know that?" His interviewing style was parodied on SCTV by Martin Short, as "Brock Linehan".
He was first the host of City Lights, a program produced by CityTV in Toronto, and syndicated throughout Canada and the United States, running from 1973 to 1989.
After taking time off, he spent the early 1990s doing publicity interviews in Hollywood. In the late 1990s, he hosted a second show entitled Linehan, which was produced for CHCH-TV in Hamilton, Ontario. He was also a long-time entertainment reporter on CFRB radio.

A tribute to Susan Strasberg, the beautiful, talented daughter of Lee Strasberg, head ot he famous Actors Studio., Its a mystery why Strasberg became esentially a starlet instead of a major star, after a great start as the toast of Broadway in The Diary of Anne Frank. A very talented actress, this video also proves that in her 30s, Susan Strasberg morphed into one of the world's most beautiful women. With so much to offer, it is astonishing that stardom eluded Ms. Strasberg. Read her two books..they reveal a compassionate kind woman. The Strasberg family was very friendly with Marilyn Monroe, who appears in a few shots in this video. It was said of him that in more than seventy films, he never once gave a bad performance. He was a charming and unconventional man with a “wild streak” and a compulsion to test himself at every turn. At his peak he became a leading man of immense attractiveness who refused to take fame and adulation seriously while in his later years a weary cynicism seemed to reflect the reality of the world around him. William Holden’s achievements as an Academy-Award winning, internationally-acclaimed actor are revealed in clips from some of his best films, such as The Golden Boy, Born Yesterday, The Country Girl, Sunset Boulevard, Stalag 17, Sabrina, The Bridge On The River Kwai, The World Of Suzie Wong and Network. Also featured are on-camera interviews with actors Robert Wagner, Robert Mitchum, Cli...
