Steve Hinton is an American aviator who held a world speed record from 1979 to1989 and won six Unlimited-class air races, including two national championships. He won four consecutive Unlimited races in one year, and remains the only pilot ever to do so. He retired from racing in 1990. His son, Steven Hinton, Jr., became the youngest pilot to win the Reno Air Races Unlimited-class championship in 2009 at the age of 22. Steve is the president of Planes of Fame Air Museum with locations in Chino, California and Valle-Grand Canyon, Arizona, and owner of Fighter Rebuilders, a military aircraft restoration company.
On August 14, 1979, Hinton set the piston-driven aircraft 3-kilometer world speed record at 499.018 mph in the highly-modified RB51 Red Baron at Tonopah, Nevada, making Hinton, age 27, the youngest person ever to capture the speed record.
On September 16, 1979, Hinton was racing the RB-51 in Reno when the plane suffered catastrophic engine failure. Hinton finished the race in second place, but crashed short of the runway. Although the plane's fuel erupted in a fireball, the cockpit was thrown away from the fire and Hinton survived with a broken back, leg, and ankle.
Planes of Fame Air Museum is an aviation museum located in Chino, California, and Valle, Arizona. The museum has many flying and static aircraft, along with multiple rare examples under restoration.
Planes of Fame Air Museum was founded by Edward T. Maloney on January 12, 1957 in Claremont, California, to save historically important aircraft. At that time, it was called "The Air Museum". A small group of volunteers, including future Museum president Steve Hinton, set out to make the museum's aircraft flyable.
As the Museum's collection of aircraft and memorabilia continued to grow, it became necessary to find a new home with enough space to house everything. In 1962 the museum relocated to nearby Ontario Airport, Ontario, California.
A few years later, in 1970, redevelopment of the airport at Ontario forced The Air Museum to move again. The non-flyable aircraft became part of the "Movie World: Cars of the Stars and Planes of Fame Museum" in Buena Park, California, located near Knott's Berry Farm, while the flyable aircraft relocated to Chino Airport, about 30 miles (48 km) away. When Movie World closed, the name "Planes of Fame" stayed.
Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen (2 May 1892 – 21 April 1918), also widely known as the Red Baron, was a German fighter pilot with the Imperial German Army Air Service (Luftstreitkräfte) during the First World War. He is considered the ace-of-aces of the war, being officially credited with 80 air combat victories.
Originally a cavalryman, Richthofen transferred to the Air Service in 1915, becoming one of the first members of Jasta 2 in 1916. He quickly distinguished himself as a fighter pilot, and during 1917 became leader of Jasta 11 and then the larger unit Jagdgeschwader 1 (better known as the "Flying Circus"). By 1918, he was regarded as a national hero in Germany, and widely respected even by his enemies.
Richthofen was shot down and killed near Amiens on 21 April 1918. There has been considerable discussion and debate regarding aspects of his career, especially the circumstances of his death. He remains perhaps the most widely known fighter pilot of all time, and has been the subject of many books, films and other media.

Stephen or Steven /ˈstiːvən/ is a masculine first name, derived from the Greek name Στέφανος (Stéfanos), in turn from the Greek word "στέφανος", meaning "wreath, crown, honour, reward", literally "that which surrounds or encompasses". In ancient Greece, a wreath was given to the winner of a contest (from which the crown, symbol of rulers derived). The use of the noun was first recorded in Homer's Iliad. The name is significant to Christians: according to the Book of Acts in the New Testament, Saint Stephen was a deacon who was stoned to death and is regarded as the first Christian martyr. The name has many variants, which include Stephan, Stevan, Stefan and Stevon.
In Middle English, the name Stephen or Stephan was pronounced as a bi-syllabic word — Step-hen or Step-han — much like a Scandinavian surname. Steve was pronounced as it is in Modern English. This etymological usage began a decline in the mid-19th century.
Steve is the common short form, while various diminutives such as Stevie and Ste are also used. Many family names are derived from Stephen: the most common are Stephens/Stevens and Stephenson/Stevenson (others include Stephen, Stephan, Staphan, Stefan, Stevin and Stever).

As the race progresses the Red Baron, piloted by young Steve Hinton, is not able to close on the P51 of eventual winner John Crocker. On the last lap the Red Baron pulls up after losing power and is forced to land off the runway. In a story worthy of Hollywood the crash destroys the Red Baron and nearly costs Steve Hinton his life. Steve recovers and goes on to become one of the most respected race pilots and restorers of WW2 aircraft. Thirty years after this event his son became the youngest pilot ever to win the Reno event.

Steve Hinton puts a Grumman F7F Tigercat through its paces at the Planes of Fame Chino Airshow 2009. This is probably the best aerobatics performance in an F7F Tigercat you will ever see. Just listen to the roar of those PW R-2800 Double Wasp radial engines pumping out over 2,000 horse power each! The Planes of Fame Chino Airshows are probably the most unique collection of flying warbirds anywhere in the world today. This years theme was a salute to Grumman Aircraft and featured Grumman aircraft were J2F, F3F, F4F, F6F, F7F, F8F and the TBM Avenger. http://www.planesoffame.org http://www.flybynightvideos.com

Here's my interview with Bill "Tiger" Destefani, L.D. Hughes, and Steven Hinton Jr. at the Pacific Coast Dream Machines. Unfortunately we did it way too close to the taxiway, lots of airplanes were flying around, and it was windy - so the audio kinda sucks - but hey...... I got to hang out with the Strega crew!
From searching on Google to real-time translation, millions of people use deep learning every day, mostly without knowing it. It's a form of artificial intelligence designed to mimic the human brain. Geoffrey Hinton is a professor in the department of computer science at the University of Toronto. His work on deep learning has been snapped up by Google and is now being used to power its search engine. He joins The Agenda to discuss deep learning and the future of artificial intelligence.
This is the second trailer in the series for "Chasing Reno Gold, the story of the unlimited gold winning pilots from the Reno Air Races. Steven Hinton, winner of the unlimited gold races in 2009 and 2010 talks about his first flights, joining up with the Strega team and flying his first P-51.

Picture perfect memories scattered all around the floor
Reachin' for the phone 'cause I can't fight it anymore
And I wonder if I ever cross your mind
For me it happens all the time
It's a quarter after one
I'm all alone
And I need you now
Said I wouldn't call
But I've lost all control
And I need you now
And I don't know how I can do without
I just need you now
Another shot of whiskey, can't stop looking at the door
Wishing you'd come sweeping in the way you did before
And I wonder if I ever cross your mind
For me it happens all the time
It's a quarter after one
I'm a little drunk
And I need you now
Said I wouldn't call
But I've lost all control
And I need you now
And I don't know how I can do without
I just need you now
Yes I'd rather hurt than feel nothing at all
It's a quarter after one
I'm all alone
And I need you now
And I said I wouldn't call,
But I'm a little drunk
And I need you now
And I don't know how I can do without
I just need you now
I just need you now
