Bernard John "Bernie" Taupin (born 22 May 1950) is an English lyricist, poet, and singer, best known for his long-term collaboration with Elton John, writing the lyrics for the majority of the star's songs, making his lyrics some of the best known in pop-rock's history.
In 1967, Taupin answered an advertisement in the UK's music paper New Musical Express that was seeking new songwriters. Around the same time Elton John submitted samples of his work to the paper, and the pair were brought together, collaborating on many projects since.
Much of Taupin's childhood is reflected in his lyrics and poetry. He was born at Flatters Farmhouse which is located between the village of Anwick and the town of Sleaford in the southern part of Lincolnshire, England. Of French ancestry, his father was educated in Dijon and was employed as a stockman by a large farm estate near the town of Market Rasen and his mother worked as a nanny, having previously lived in Switzerland. The family later relocated to Rowston Manor, a significant step up from Flatters Farmhouse which had no electricity.

From the advent of Alice as front man for a group of Phoenix freaks in the 60s to the hazy decadence of celebrity in the 70s to his triumphant comeback as 80s glam metal godfather, we will watch as Alice and Vincent battle for each others' souls. The is the first ever 'doc opera' - a dizzying blend of documentary archive footage, animation and rock opera that will cement forever the legend of Alice Cooper.
Genres: Documentary, Music,Oh the press is down
And the flesh is black and white
Eager workers turning the pages
Dirty fingers touch your life
All you pretty maids
With all your charms on view
Farm the wasteground in your head now
Your sisters can't get through
Oh hey, hey, Citizen Jane
What will your sisters say
Oh they'll say ain't it a shame
After comin' such a long, long way
Citizen Jane
Now they're trading skin
And the cause is pushed away
Greedy piggies live on Fleet Street
Dealing meat out every day
Oh hey, hey, Citizen Jane
What will your sisters say
Oh they'll say ain't it a shame
After comin' such a long, long way
Citizen Jane
What a picture, what a woman
What a curve on the great white way
A little touch up, a little airbrush
