I went to Saratov for my first trip alone ever.
After a lot of work getting Visa and all documents ready i finally went for 8 days between 2 sept and 10sept 2012.
I fell in love with the city and Russia as a country.
I know some of the pics are little blurry but it was first time i used the camera.
I hope you like the video.
First time i ever tried making one.
I dont own the right for the music in this video.

Saratov is the Capital of Saratov Oblast located in the Volga region, a considerable road junction and a river port.
The official date of foundation is the 5th (15th) of July, 1590. It was the day when Founding Fathers of the city came to the Volga river bank a prince Grigory Osipovich Zasekin and Fyodor Mikhaylovitch Turov. Thay laid foundation of the first fortree on the right bank of the Volga river, opposite Tatar fortress Uvek.
The city was moved from one place to another during its existence not once. Saratov was built in 1617 on the right bank of the Volga, where it is still situated.
According to one of the versions, the citys name comes from Tatar Mongolian words: sary (yellow) and tau (a mountain). So that was the name of Saratovs Sokolovaya mountain, yellow in colour. Many nationalities representatives live in Saratov the Russians, the Mordovians, the Tatars, the Chuvash, the Kazakhs, the Germans. It will be remembered that Catherine the Great signed a manifest in 1764, inviting foreigners to come to the Russian lands. Since then foreigners, primarily the Germans, have settled here. There are a lot of places in Saratov, telling about German culture.

Saratov (Russian: Сара́тов; IPA: [sɐˈratəf] (
listen)) is a major city in southern Russia. It is the administrative center of Saratov Oblast and a major port on the Volga River. Population: 837,831 (2010 Census preliminary results); 873,055 (2002 Census); 904,643 (1989 Census). In addition to ethnic Russians, the city also has many Tatar, Ukrainian, Jewish, and German residents.
Ukek, a city of the Golden Horde, was situated near the site of the modern city of Saratov from the mid 13th century until its destruction in 1395.
The modern city was founded in 1590. It traces its history to the reign of Tsar Feodor Ivanovich, who constructed several settlements along the Volga River in order to secure the southeastern boundary of his state. During the summer of 1586, the fortress of Samara was founded, followed by Tsaritsyn in 1589 and finally Saratov, located midway between Samara and Tsaritsyn, in 1590. Saratov was built at the insistence of count Grigory Zasekin. All three forts were located in a region where the Volga and the Don flow nearest one another, which allowed the Duchy of Moscovy to secure both rivers and to ensure control over the recently annexed khanates of Kazan and Astrakhan in the years following the Livonian War. The future town's buildings were first constructed in the upper reaches of the Volga, a full year prior to the in situ foundation of Saratov. In the spring of 1590, workers disassembled the constructions, marked each log, and delivered the "town" to its destination via the river. This method allowed the buildings to be rapidly erected in just a few weeks.
