Plot: Sam Bissel is a wholesome family man with a loving wife, Min, and two loving daughters. They lead a happy suburban life. The only part of Sam's life that he is not happy about is his job as a lowly cog in the art department of the advertising firm of Burke & Hare. Sam's professional life takes a major turn when he is made executive of the Nurdlinger Dairy account. Simon Nurdlinger is a wholesome family man who wants a wholesome family man with wholesome family ideals heading his account, Sam the only one in Burke & Hare that fits the bill. Sam's home life also takes a major turn when Min's college friend, Janet Lagerlof, moves in next door. Janet stands to inherit $15 million from her grandfather's estate, but the will has a clause that she must be happily married to inherit the money. Janet is technically divorced from Howard Ebbets, and states that getting back with Howard is not worth $15 million. But when Jack Bailey and Irene Krump - two of Janet's relatives who would like to find any excuse to contest the will - come by for an unexpected visit, Janet impetuously introduces Sam as her husband, Howard. Things get more complicated for Sam when he is later forced to introduce Janet as Mrs. Bissel to both Burke and Nurdlinger. Sam and by association Min go along with the ruse, and for their troubles Janet offers to give them $1 million of her inheritance. After that, further complications occur: Janet notices a private investigator snooping around the neighborhood, the P.I. hired by Janet's relatives; Howard, Janet's ex-husband comes back wanting to reconcile with her; and without Sam's knowledge, the Nurdlinger creative includes billboards featuring a wholesome couple espousing the goodness of Nurdlinger milk, that wholesome couple being Sam and Janet as Mr. & Mrs. Sam Bissel. They just have to continue dealing with these complications until the legal hearing. But Min may just have had enough of this plan before they get the money.

The Hi-Lo's: [words sung for the Hertz commercial] Let Hertz put you in the drivers seat. Let Hertz take you anywhere at all. By the hour, by the day, by the week or any way, let Hertz put you in the drivers seat... today!
Sam Bissell: He took a shower?::Minerva Bissell: Well, of course. Didn't you take a shower at Janet's?::Sam Bissell: No, I didn't take a shower at Jan... What do you think I am? Some kind of a sex maniac?

Jamie Wyeth comes from a family of artists, including his grandfather, the illustrator Newell Convers Wyeth (1992-1945); his father, painter Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009); and his aunt, Caroline Wyeth Hurd (1909-1994). He was encouraged to seriously pursue art at a young age, but never attended art school. Instead, he left school at the age of 11 and received instruction at home from his aunt, a Surrealist painter, with critical guidance from his father. Later, Wyeth studied anatomy by sketching cadavers in a New York City morgue, and worked with Andy Warhol in the Factory. His strain of realism has consequently evolved in directions that are significantly different from that of his grandfather and father.
Elliot Davis, Curator of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, organized the Jamie Wyeth retrospective. Join Davis as she conducts a lively onstage conversation with Wyeth about his career, his art, and his fascination with gulls and chickens.

Maryland watercolor artist Susan Avis Murphy paints a portrait of N.C. Wyeth in front of a live audience at the Sandy Spring Museum, in Sandy Spring, MD. Susan discusses her approach using a toned background and liftable paints. First she creates an interesting background wash using raw umber, which is sprayed with water to form a rivulet texture. Next shadow areas are painted in using non-staining colors. Then light areas are lifted off using stencil brushes. Finally small areas are toned and adjusted using transparent paints. Pigments used in this painting were raw umber, verditer blue, cobalt blue, neutral tint, and brown madder. Susan Murphy is a full-time artist and signature member of the American Watercolor Society.

Andrew Newell Wyeth (July 12, 1917 – January 16, 2009) was an American visual artist, working predominantly in a regionalist style. Despite being considered a realist painter, some argue that he adopted an abstract style, especially in his watercolors, to communicate emotionally charged symbolic objects and people in rural environments. He was one of the best known American artists of the middle 20th century. In his art, Wyeth's favorite subjects were the land and people around him, both in his hometown of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, and at his summer home in Cushing, Maine. Wyeth often noted: "I paint my life." Calm landscapes, a sense of romance, human presence and the passage of time were touchstones of his artwork throughout his career, all rendered with a beautiful, subdued color palette.
One of the best-known images in 20th-century American art is his painting 'Christina's World' (06:50) currently in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. This tempera was painted in 1948, when Wyeth was 31 years old.

Andrew Newell WYETH ( July 12, 1917 -- January 16, 2009), a painter of landscape and figure subjects in Pennsylvania and Maine, became one of the best-known American painters of the 20th century. His style is both realistic and abstract, and he works primarily in tempera and watercolor, often using the drybrush technique.
Andrew Wyeth maintained a style strongly oriented towards Realism when Abstract Expressionism was all-prevalent. Adhering to his own path, he was snubbed by many prominent art critics. However, his paintings have elements of abstraction in that the work derives from his strong feelings about his subjects, which often appear in unusual positions, juxtapositions, and with features highlighted for emotional effect. His work usually suggests rural quiet, isolation, and somber mood and is devoid of modern-day objects such as automobiles.
In 1937, Wyeth's first one-man show of watercolors depicting scenes around Port Clyde, Maine, sold out at the Macbeth Gallery in New York. In Maine, Andrew first spent his summers in Port Clyde with his family, but after his marriage to Betsy James in 1940, he and his wife went regularly to Cushing.
Christina Olson of Cushing, at the end of Hathorn Point, was his most famous model, but over the years, Wyeth formed close friendships with - and painted - several other Maine neighbors. His closest friend, Walt Anderson, gradually ages before the eyes of viewers in numerous Wyeth drawings and paintings that show life's changes from the youthful Young Swede (1939) to the older man in Adrift (1982).
The Olson House is the first property ever named to the National Register of Historic Places for being recognized as the site of a painting, Christina's World, one of the most recognized paintings in American art.
After the death of Christina Olson, Wyeth used female models Siri Erickson of Cushing, and Helga Testorf of Chadds Ford. Depictions of the nude Helga, a total of 240 works, provided grist for an avalanche of sensational publicity. The Helga paintings were exhibited in 1987 at the National Gallery of Art, the gallery's first exhibition of works by a living artist.
Andrew Wyeth passed on in his sleep at the age of 91 on January 16, 2009 at his home in Chadds Ford.

Sergei Vasilievic RACHMANINOFF (Russian: Сергей Васильевич Рахманинов) (1 April 1873 -- 28 March 1943) was a Russian composer, pianist, and conductor. Rachmaninoff is widely considered one of the finest pianists of his day and, as a composer, one of the last great representatives of Romanticism in Russian classical music. Early influences of Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, and other Russian composers gave way to a thoroughly personal idiom that included a pronounced lyricism, expressive breadth, structural ingenuity, and a tonal palette of rich, distinctive orchestral colors. The piano is featured prominently in Rachmaninoff's compositional output. He made a point of using his own skills as a performer to explore fully the expressive possibilities of the instrument. Even in his earliest works he revealed a sure grasp of idiomatic piano writing and a striking gift for melody.
