Ringo Lam Ling-Tung (simplified Chinese: 林岭东; traditional Chinese: 林嶺東; pinyin: Lín Lǐngdōng, Cantonese: Lam Ling-tung), born in 1955 is a Hong Kong film director, producer and scriptwriter. He is known for gritty, dark and realistic action thrillers. noted for films such as City on Fire, Prison on Fire, Full Contact and Full Alert.
He was born in Hong Kong and studied film at York University film school in Toronto. Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs (1992) was reworked from Lam's City on Fire (1987), and critics have indicated that there are shot-by-shot copies of certain action sequences.
Most of his films include a collaboration with Chow Yun-fat: City on Fire (1987), Prison on Fire (1987), Wild Search (1989), Prison on Fire II (1991) and Full Contact (1993). also with Jean-Claude Van Damme: Maximum Risk (1996), Replicant (2001), and In Hell (2003).

Jackie Chan, SBS, MBE (born Chan Kong-sang, 陳港生; 7 April 1954) is a Hong Kong-born Chinesestuntman, actor, and director whose perilous acrobatic stunts and engaging physical humour made him an action-film star in Asia and helped to bring kung fu movies into the mainstream of American cinema. In his movies, he is known for his acrobatic fighting style, comic timing, use of improvised weapons, and innovative stunts. Jackie Chan has been acting since the 1960s and has appeared in over 100 films.
Chan has received stars on the Hong Kong Avenue of Stars and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. As a cultural icon, Chan has been referenced in various pop songs, cartoons, and video games. An operatically trained vocalist, Chan is also a Cantopop and Mandopop star, having released a number of albums and sung many of the theme songs for the films in which he has starred. In addition to acting, Chan pursued a career in the Hong Kong music industry, releasing a number of original albums beginning in 1984. He founded the Jackie Chan Charitable Organization in 1998, which, among other projects, offers scholarships to Hong Kong youths, and he worked as a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF.

Aaron Kwok Fu-shing (born 26 October 1965) is a Hong Kong singer, dancer and actor. He has been active since the 1980s to the present. The media refer to him, Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau and Leon Lai as the Cantopop Four Heavenly Kings (四大天王). Kwok's onstage dancing and displays is influenced by Michael Jackson. While most of his songs are in the dance-pop genre, he has experimented numerous times with rock and roll, ballad, rock, R&B, soul, electronica and traditional Chinese music.
Kwok graduated from Joseph's College in Hong Kong. After graduating from secondary school, Kwok worked as a junior staff in King Fook Gold & Jewellery Co. Ltd. His father, who owns a small gold retail store, desired that he gain experience in the business with the view of eventually handing the family business over to him. If not for one of Kwok's brothers taking over the gold business, his father would not have allowed him to join the entertainment industry.
Kwok has been in a serious relationship with Chinese-born actress Lynn Hung since 2006.

It is the second collaboration between Jean-Claude Van Damme and Hong Kong film director Ringo Lam, and the fifth time that Van Damme has starred in a dual role.
A serial killer (Van Damme) is on the loose. A cop (Michael Rooker) is on the trail. And the only way to find him...is to create him.
With the use of a genetic double (also played by Van Damme), a cop has to not only find the killer...but to also make sure that the clone doesn't follow in his original's footsteps...

Nato sotto una cattiva stella, il progetto è poi passato per le mani di un altro regista e, in fine, in quelle del produttore Philippe Martinez, alla prova dei fatti, inadatto a cavare da una sceneggiatura più che di routine un action degno degli anni Duemila. Potrebbe suonare strano, ma Wake of Death - Scia di morte è molto più vicino a certi sbrigativi film d'azione anni Ottanta che ai titoli successivi a quella rivoluzione oriental-action, in Occidente, tenuta a battesimo proprio dalle collaborazioni dello stesso Van Damme con John Woo, Tsui Hark o Ringo Lam. Dal canto suo, Martinez sceglie un'impostazione da cui sono totalmente assenti quelle raffinatezze visive e quei marchi di fabbrica ormai dati per acquisiti, allontanando lo spettatore sempre più anestetizzato da un susseguirsi di scene prive di mordente. Per contrasto, si pensi alla coreografata e "ricercata" sequenza iniziale, poi assorbita in una giustapposizione di situazioni portate avanti soltanto per arrivare alla conclusione: dopotutto, il vecchio meccanismo della vendetta, qui, non è pretesto per lavorare ad un altro piano, ma parte essenziale, argomento e motivo di racconto. È un peccato che gli sceneggiatori non abbiano approfittato dell'occasione per virare in tonalità più crepuscolari il personaggio del quarantaquattrenne Van Damme (inoltre si sarebbe sentita di meno la mancanza delle evoluzioni fisiche di una volta).
Non disprezzabile il ritratto della "famiglia acquisita" di Ben, un insieme di compari che lo aiutano a mettere in pratica la vendetta, tra i quali c'è spazio anche per Tony, l'amico fraterno disposto a tutto. Wild City is Hong Kong action director Ringo Lam’s (林嶺東) first feature in eight years. Lam says the film completes a trilogy with City on Fire (龍虎風雲, 1987) and Full Alert (高度戒備, 1997) as all three touch upon the theme of being lost in the city. If you are a fan of Lam’s trademark over-the-top car chases, seedy underworld figures, gritty heroes, mysterious damsels in distress and lots of guns and explosions, you’ll enjoy this film....
