The Great Divide (Willie Nelson album)
The Great Divide is an album released in 2002 by American country music singer Willie Nelson. It contains several duets and musical collaborations with artists such as Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty, Lee Ann Womack, Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, Brian McKnight, and Bonnie Raitt. The album produced two chart singles in "Mendocino County Line" and "Maria (Shut Up and Kiss Me)", which respectively reached #22 and #41 on the Hot Country Songs charts. Also included is a cover of "Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)", previously a hit for Kenny Rogers and the First Edition. The songs "Mendocino County Line," "Last Stand in Open Country," and "This Face" were co-written by Bernie Taupin, the lyricist best known for his collaborations with Elton John.

The Great Divide (1929 film)
The Great Divide is a 1929 American Pre-Code Western film produced and distributed by First National Pictures, and starring Dorothy Mackaill. The film was released in both a silent and sound version and was directed by Reginald Barker. The Great Divide is a remake of a silent film he made at MGM in 1925. It was shot once again in 1931 as the full sound film Woman Hungry. All three films are based on the 1906 Broadway play The Great Divide by William Vaughn Moody.
A print of the film is preserved at the Library of Congress.
Plot
Stephen Ghent, a mineowner, falls in love with Ruth Jordan, an arrogant girl from the East, unaware that she is the daughter of his dead partner. Ruth is vacationing in Arizona and Mexico with a fast set of friends, including her fiancé, Edgar. Manuella, a Spanish halfbreed hopelessly in love with Ghent, causes Ruth to return to her fiancé when she insinuates that Ghent belongs to her. Ghent follows Ruth, kidnaps her, and takes her into the wilderness to endure hardship. There she discovers that she loves Ghent, and she discards Edgar in favor of him.

1948年3月，在东北站稳脚跟的解放军，在林彪（马绍信饰）的领导下，发展为近百万大军。毛泽东（古月饰）、周恩来（苏林饰）、任弼时（路希饰）等离开西北来到河北与刘少奇（郭法曾饰）、朱德（刘怀正饰）等会合，并讨论了当时的形势。毛泽东、朱德等及时把握战略决战时机，命令东北野战军南下北宁，强攻锦州，切断东北蒋军退华北的路。以彻底残灭东北国民党军卫立煌（卢学公饰）集团。林彪为了有把握，提出先打长春，以围点歼灭沈阳援敌。经过毛主席多次做工作，1948年7月，林彪决定按毛泽东意见办，南下攻击锦州。此期间，蒋介石（赵恒多饰）对东北蒋军的撤、守，也犹豫不绝，出于政治利害考虑，终于没有下从东北全部撤至华北的决心。1948年9月12日，辽沈战役终于在毛泽东的坚持下打响了。10月14日，东野主力向锦州发起总攻，31个小时便克锦州。接着，长春宣告解放。未几，沈阳、营口亦相继解放。在东北野战军南下北宁线同时，华东野战军胜利举行了济南战役，中央军委决定发起淮海战役 。

The Great Divide is a 1929 American pre-Code Western film directed by Reginald Barker and starring Dorothy Mackaill. Released in both silent and sound versions, it was produced and distributed by First National Pictures. The film is a remake of The Great Divide, made at MGM in 1925 and also directed by Barker. There was another remake in 1931 as the full sound film Woman Hungry. All three films are based on the 1906 Broadway play The Great Divide by William Vaughn Moody.
The film was released on DVD In 2011, through the Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (via Warner Archive Collection).
A print of the film is preserved at the Library of Congress. Parts of the film were shot in Zion National Park in Utah.

【内容简介】
1948年3月，在东北站稳脚跟的解放军，在林彪（马绍信饰）的领导下，发展为近百万大军。毛泽东（古月饰）、周恩来（苏林饰）、任弼时（路希饰）等离开西北来到河北与刘少奇（郭法曾饰）、朱德（刘怀正饰）等会合，并讨论了当时的形势。毛泽东、朱德等及时把握战略决战时机，命令东北野战军南下北宁，强攻锦州，切断东北蒋军退华北的路。以彻底残灭东北国民党军卫立煌（卢学公饰）集团。林彪为了有把握，提出先打长春，以围点歼灭沈阳援敌。经过毛主席多次做工作，1948年7月，林彪决定按毛泽东意见办，南下攻击锦州。此期间，蒋介石（赵恒多饰）对东北蒋军的撤、守，也犹豫不绝，出于政治利害考虑，终于没有下从东北全部撤至华北的决心。1948年9月12日，辽沈战役终于在毛泽东的坚持下打响了。10月14日，东野主力向锦州发起总攻，31个小时便克锦州。接着，长春宣告解放。未几，沈阳、营口亦相继解放。在东北野战军南下北宁线同时，华东野战军胜利举行了济南战役，中央军委决定发起淮海战役 。
