Many of us take great care of our personal health. We exercise, eat right and try to limit the amount of junk or harmful things we take into our bodies. For the most part, such tactics can help us live long and happy lives. Others, however aren’t as lucky. Some people are just bound to suffer from bad health and defects no matter what they do. It could have to do with where they live or even what kinds of genes they have. Bad air and water can definitely affect your health, but so can bad genes. To go one step further damaged genes, as in the form of disorders or mutations, can be even worse and cause conditions that the sufferer can do absolutely nothing about.
When you think of mutations, you likely think about fictional characters from movies and comic books. Sure they all suffer from mutations but in a cool way. After all, a mutation that allows you super-strength, the ability to fly or shoot flames out of your hands is pretty sweet. Real life is a different matter. In this world, bad or damaged genes can lead to mutations which just seem cruel. They often lead to bizarre deformities and, as you’ll see, can shorten the length and quality of life for those affected. From extra limbs to overly advanced aging, you’ll see that these fascinating mutations are definitely some of the worst you could be afflicted with.

The human body alone is pretty incredible, with the capability to heal itself of wounds, fight off disease and infection, and give birth to new life. When we read comic books and watch television and movies, we are drifted off to a fantasy world where the human body can do incredible things like fly, become invisible, control the elements, cast magic spells, and shoot lasers from their eyes. Having superpowers in general, is merely a fantasy that is reserved for Hollywood and the library. But, there are a special few out there who have been born with what we would call superpowers. The people in this video possessed abilities that defy physics and normal human nature.
For example, if you are blind, you obviously don’t have the ability to see at all. But there are two individuals named Daniel Kisch and Ben Underwood, who have the ability to see despite losing their vision to retinal cancer at a young age. Though these two never met growing up, they both figured out how to survey their surroundings and literally see what’s around them using echolocation by the click of their tongues. While Ben ultimately succumbed to the same cancer that took away his vision, Kisch has dedicated his life to teaching his echolocation technique to other blind children. So, this means that there could be more people who, while they can’t see with their eyes, can live a somewhat normal life without the restrictions of having no sight.
Of course, there are some special people out there who were born with abilities that are straight up bizarre. Take Wim Hof for example. The man seems to be impervious to the cold. No matter how cold it gets, Wim maintains his internal body temperature. He is able to withstand freezing ice baths, and has broken numerous world records for not only temperature, but also duration of withstanding these temperatures. Wim has also climbed Mount Kilamonjaro along with attempting to climb Mount Everest. But the reason of being unable to complete Everest wasn’t because it got too cold, instead he had a foot injury that prevented him from going any further.
Then we have a man who can conduct his own electricity. His name is Slavisa Pajkic, and he realized that he had a special gift after he accidentally touched a live electric fence. But nothing happened! Realizing this, Slavisa started experimenting and learned that he could cook a sausage in his hands, as well as heat up a cup of water. Just be careful if you decide to shake hands with him.
Next, the ability to have X-ray vision isn’t just reserved for the comic book superheroes. A young woman by the name of Natasha Demkina claims to possess a special kind of vision where she can see the internal organs of other people. This skill first came to light when she was only ten years old when she told her mother she could see inside her body. Her mother took her to the doctor, and Natasha was able to tell the doctor exactly what kind of scars he had under his clothing.
That’s just a few, here are more people with superhuman powers.

When it comes to the fantastic, weird and wonderful world of comic book characters, it's easy to think that they're all entirely fictitious and created solely from the imaginations of talented writers. Real People
Real People is an NBC reality television series that aired from 1979 to 1984, on Wednesday and then Sunday nights. Its initial episodes aired live in the Eastern and Central Time Zones.
Synopsis
Real People featured a panel of seated hosts in front of a large studio audience. The hosts introduced pre-filmed segments and engaged in comedic banter about them. Each segment was a visit to someone with a unique occupation or hobby. Occasionally someone was brought into the studio to interact with the audience.
In its early seasons, Real People was NBC's most popular series, often scoring at the top of the ratings, and was a rare hit for the network at a time when NBC was a distant third in the ratings and struggling with numerous flops. Segments included "funny pictures" and funny newspaper errors sent in by viewers, who were awarded a Real People T-shirt. According to a 2008 interview with producer George Schlatter, who also co-created Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In for NBC, the series also covered serious topics, such as war heroes.

Ice cube
An ice cube is a small, roughly cube-shaped piece of ice (frozen water), conventionally used to cool beverages. Ice cubes are sometimes preferred over crushed ice because they melt more slowly; they are standard in mixed drinks that call for ice, in which case the drink is said to be "on the rocks."
Origin
American physician and humanitarian John Gorrie built a refrigerator in 1844 with the purpose of cooling air. His refrigerator produced ice which he hung from the ceiling in a basin. Gorrie can be considered the creator of ice cubes, but his aim was not to cool drinks: he used the ice to lower the ambient room temperature. During his time, a dominant idea was that bad air quality caused disease. Therefore, in order to help treat sickness, he pushed for the draining of swamps and the cooling of sickrooms.
Methods of production
Ice cubes are produced domestically by filling an ice cube tray with water and placing it in a freezer. Many freezers also come equipped with an icemaker, which produces ice cubes automatically and stores them in a bin from which they can be dispensed directly into a glass.

When we read comic books and watch television and movies, we are drifted off to a fantasy world where the human body can do incredible things like fly, become invisible, control the elements, cast magic spells, and shoot lasers from their eyes. Having superpowers in general, is merely a fantasy that is reserved for Hollywood and the library. But, there are a special few out there who have been born with what we would call superpowers. The people in this video possessed abilities that defy physics and normal human nature. For example, if you are blind, you obviously don’t have the ability to see at all. But there are two individuals named Daniel Kisch and Ben Underwood, who have the ability to see despite losing their vision to retinal cancer at a young age. Though these two never met growing up, they both figured out how to survey their surroundings and literally see what’s around them using echolocation by the click of their tongues. While Ben ultimately succumbed to the same cancer that took away his vision, Kisch has dedicated his life to teaching his echolocation technique to other blind children. So, this means that there could be more people who, while they can’t see with their eyes, can live a somewhat normal life without the restrictions of having no sight. Of course, there are some special people out there who were born with abilities that are straight up bizarre. Take Wim Hof for example. The man seems to be impervious to the cold. No matter how cold it gets, Wim maintains his internal body temperature. He is able to withstand freezing ice baths, and has broken numerous world records for not only temperature, but also duration of withstanding these temperatures. Wim has also climbed Mount Kilamonjaro along with attempting to climb Mount Everest. But the reason of being unable to complete Everest wasn’t because it got too cold, instead he had a foot injury that prevented him from going any further. Then we have a man who can conduct his own electricity. His name is Slavisa Pajkic, and he realized that he had a special gift after he accidentally touched a live electric fence. But nothing happened! Realizing this, Slavisa started experimenting and learned that he could cook a sausage in his hands, as well as heat up a cup of water. Just be careful if you decide to shake hands with him. Next, the ability to have X-ray vision isn’t just reserved for the comic book superheroes. A young woman by the name of Natasha Demkina claims to possess a special kind of vision where she can see the internal organs of other people. This skill first came to light when she was only ten years old when she told her mother she could see inside her body. Her mother took her to the doctor, and Natasha was able to tell the doctor exactly what kind of scars he had under his clothing. That’s just a few, here are more people with superhuman powers. When you think of mutations, you likely think about fictional characters from movies and comic books. Sure they all suffer from mutations but in a cool way. After all, a mutation that allows you super-strength, the ability to fly or shoot flames out of your hands is pretty sweet. Real life is a different matter. In this world, bad or damaged genes can lead to mutations which just seem cruel. They often lead to bizarre deformities and, as you’ll see, can shorten the length and quality of life for those affected. From extra limbs to overly advanced aging, you’ll see that these fascinating mutations are definitely some of the worst you could be afflicted with.

When you think of mutations, you likely think about fictional characters from movies and comic books. Sure they all suffer from mutations but in a cool way. After all, a mutation that allows you super-strength, the ability to fly or shoot flames out of your hands is pretty sweet. Real life is a different matter. In this world, bad or damaged genes can lead to mutations which just seem cruel. They often lead to bizarre deformities and, as you’ll see, can shorten the length and quality of life for those affected. From extra limbs to overly advanced aging, you’ll see that these fascinating mutations are definitely some of the worst you could be afflicted with.

The human body alone is pretty incredible, with the capability to heal itself of wounds, fight off disease and infection, and give birth to new life. When we read comic books and watch television and movies, we are drifted off to a fantasy world where the human body can do incredible things like fly, become invisible, control the elements, cast magic spells, and shoot lasers from their eyes. Having superpowers in general, is merely a fantasy that is reserved for Hollywood and the library. But, there are a special few out there who have been born with what we would call superpowers. The people in this video possessed abilities that defy physics and normal human nature.
For example, if you are blind, you obviously don’t have the ability to see at all. But there are two individuals named Daniel Kisch and Ben Underwood, who have the ability to see despite losing their vision to retinal cancer at a young age. Though these two never met growing up, they both figured out how to survey their surroundings and literally see what’s around them using echolocation by the click of their tongues. While Ben ultimately succumbed to the same cancer that took away his vision, Kisch has dedicated his life to teaching his echolocation technique to other blind children. So, this means that there could be more people who, while they can’t see with their eyes, can live a somewhat normal life without the restrictions of having no sight.
Of course, there are some special people out there who were born with abilities that are straight up bizarre. Take Wim Hof for example. The man seems to be impervious to the cold. No matter how cold it gets, Wim maintains his internal body temperature. He is able to withstand freezing ice baths, and has broken numerous world records for not only temperature, but also duration of withstanding these temperatures. Wim has also climbed Mount Kilamonjaro along with attempting to climb Mount Everest. But the reason of being unable to complete Everest wasn’t because it got too cold, instead he had a foot injury that prevented him from going any further.
Then we have a man who can conduct his own electricity. His name is Slavisa Pajkic, and he realized that he had a special gift after he accidentally touched a live electric fence. But nothing happened! Realizing this, Slavisa started experimenting and learned that he could cook a sausage in his hands, as well as heat up a cup of water. Just be careful if you decide to shake hands with him.
Next, the ability to have X-ray vision isn’t just reserved for the comic book superheroes. A young woman by the name of Natasha Demkina claims to possess a special kind of vision where she can see the internal organs of other people. This skill first came to light when she was only ten years old when she told her mother she could see inside her body. Her mother took her to the doctor, and Natasha was able to tell the doctor exactly what kind of scars he had under his clothing.
That’s just a few, here are more people with superhuman powers.

When it comes to the fantastic, weird and wonderful world of comic book characters, it's easy to think that they're all entirely fictitious and created solely from the imaginations of talented writers. For decades, the entertainment industry has made millions of dollars from animation. Children connect with cartoons in kid-friendly programming and the characters have made such an impact on us all that we continue to enjoy their stories for years after we are no longer children. Cartoons have helped shaped the childhoods of most kids and young adults today. But what many people don’t know is that artists and animators gets their inspiration from real life. Documentaries have often shown animators of “The Lion King” spending their time at zoos and safaris while animating their iconic characters. For any massive movie or television project, there is an immense amount of research done that requires artists to watch real life.
One way you can achieve immortality and be remembered forever is not only by being famous, but also by being famous enough so that you inspire others to create characters based on yourself. The characters you will meet in this video are based on real people that we all know and love. Once you know which character is based on which person, you can’t help but notice the similarities not only in appearance, but also in personality and characteristics. As the saying goes, art inspires art. Given the release rate of new cartoons and children’s stories, it’s only a matter of time before we are introduced to a new gang of characters that are inspired by the celebrities we know and love today.

Public television's longest-running sewing and quilting program has been the source for innovative sewing, quilting and embroidery techniques and has inspired hobbyists nationwide since host Nancy Zieman transformed the television studio into her classroom in 1982.
The first Sewing With Nancy program aired on cable TV in 1982. Initially, the programs were videotaped in Nancy’s living room with a camera crew of one person and 13-hour taping days! In the early years, Nancy Zieman ran a one-woman show, developing the scripts, making the samples, and taping the programs.
Today, Nancy still writes the scripts, yet it’s a team effort to plan the programming, develop the samples, and write and illustrate the books.

Public television's longest-running sewing and quilting program has been the source for innovative sewing, quilting and embroidery techniques and has inspired hobbyists nationwide since host Nancy Zieman transformed the television studio into her classroom in 1982.
The first Sewing With Nancy program aired on cable TV in 1982. Initially, the programs were videotaped in Nancy’s living room with a camera crew of one person and 13-hour taping days! In the early years, Nancy Zieman ran a one-woman show, developing the scripts, making the samples, and taping the programs.
Today, Nancy still writes the scripts, yet it’s a team effort to plan the programming, develop the samples, and write and illustrate the books.

Here's the last 20 minutes of an (incomplete) episode of the prototypical "reality show" Real People on WMAQ Channel 5. The show was hosted by Byron Allen, Sarah Purcell, John Barbour, and Skip Stephenson (and featured, on and off over the years, contributions from the likes of Bill Rafferty, Mark Russell and Fred Willard - none of whom are on this edition), and ran from 1979 to 1984 at a time when NBC's ratings (and reputation) were in the toilet.
This segment (joined in progress) pertains to the 1980 Bloomer (WI) Rope Jump Contest, in a filmed piece reported by Byron Allen. Features an interview with coach Wally Mohrman who started the contest back in 1960. After the end of the filmed piece, Byron introduces Morning and coach Mohrman in the studio, and Paul shows off his rope jumping skill to the studio audience. (NOTE: Mohrman's involvement with the annual contest ended after the next year's edition.)
