When I was in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), along with eating as much Vietnamese food as I could, one of my goals was to film a travel video about some of the best things to do in Saigon. After putting together a complete list, it turned out to be 23, and I hope this list of attractions will help and inspire you to visit Vietnam’s largest and most exciting city.
1. Binh Tay Market - Binh Tay Market is one of the largest wholesale distribution markets, and a perfect place to go if you’re looking to go shopping in Ho Chi Minh City.
2. Thien Hau Temple (Pagoda) - Located in Chinatown, in District 5, the temple is dedicated to Thien Hau and I really loved the sculptures and the elaborate design of the temple.
3. Museum of Ho Chi Minh City - This museum offers a glimpse into the history and development of the city and Vietnam.
4. Bitexco Financial Tower - This is the tallest building in Saigon, and you can either go to the Skydeck or a cafe at the top for a view of the city.
5. Independence Palace (Reunification Palace) - Probably one of the most well known tourism things to do in Saigon is to visit the Independence Palace, the the former home of the president of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
6. Saigon Cathedral of Notre Dame - With the French influence in Vietnam, the Notre Dame cathedral is a beautiful Catholic church. Attend a service or just visit.
7. Central Post Office - Designed by Gustave Eiffel, the Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh City is an attraction mainly for its design and architecture. It’s a beautiful building.
8. War Remnants Museum - Although this is not one of the happiest attractions in Saigon, it’s a place to remember and honor the horrible events that are a result of a war.
9. Opera House - Right in Dong Khoi area, and there are still opera shows available.
10. Dong Khoi Street - This is the height of high end shopping in Saigon.
11. Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens - The zoo itself is not too great, but the beauty of the Saigon zoo is the botanical gardens, and the lush gardens, and taking a break from the city.
12. FITO Museum (Museum of Traditional Vietnamese Medicine) - I was quite impressed by the Vietnamese medicine private museum - very interactive and educational.
13. San Art Laboratory – If you love modern art, the San Art Laboratory is a great place to see and visit in Saigon.
14. Turtle Lake at Night - If you’re looking for some things to do at night in Saigon, head to Turtle Lake to chill out, relax, hang out with friends, and eat snacks.
15. Ben Thanh Market - One of the most famous things to do in Saigon District 1 is visit the Ben Thanh Market, one of the major central landmarks of the city.
16. Phu My Hung and Starlight Bridge - Located outside of central Ho Chi Minh City, Phu My Hung is a modern development, and a great place to walk around.
17. Water Puppet Show - Though originally from the north of Vietnam, water puppet shows are popular also in Saigon. I went to the Golden Dragon Water Puppet theater.
18. Museum of Vietnamese History - Probably one of the most extensive and important museum showing the history of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City.
19. Rooftop Bar - Seeing Saigon from above offers a great perspective.
20. Fine Arts Museum - This was my favorite of all the museums in Saigon. The museum is housed in a well preserved building, and the art is amazing - located right in District 1 across the roundabout from Ben Thanh Market.
21. Jade Emperor Pagoda - Dedicated to the Jade Emperor, the pagoda has a real ancient feel to it, and it’s worth seeing when you visit.
22. Local Wet Market - One of my favorite things to do is visit a local fresh wet market, which you’ll find all over the city. The ingredients, food, and culture, all stand out at fresh markets.
23. Vietnamese Street Food - By my ultimate favorite activity in Saigon is eating street food, and there are an abundance of delicious Vietnamese street foods to sample.

Hồ Chí Minh (/ˈhoʊ ˈtʃiː ˈmɪn/;[4] Northern Vietnamese pronunciation: [ho̞˧˩ t͡ɕi˧˥ mɪŋ˧] ( listen), Southern Vietnamese pronunciation: [ho̞˧˩ t͡ɕɪj˧ mɪ̈n˧] ( listen); 19 May 1890 – 2 September 1969), born Nguyễn Sinh Côn,[5][6][7] or Nguyễn Sinh Cung, also known as Nguyễn Tất Thành and Nguyễn Ái Quốc, was a Vietnamese Communist revolutionary leader who was prime minister (1945–55) and president (1945–69) of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam). He was a key figure in the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945, as well as the People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN) and the Việt Cộng (NLF or VC) during the Vietnam War.
He led the Việt Minh independence movement from 1941 onward, establishing the Communist-ruled Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945 and defeating the French Union in 1954 at the battle of Điện Biên Phủ. He officially stepped down from power in 1965 due to health problems, but remained a highly visible figurehead and inspiration for those Vietnamese fighting for his cause—a united, communist Vietnam—until his death. After the war, Saigon, the former capital of the Republic of Vietnam, was renamed Hồ Chí Minh City; however, the name Saigon is still very widely used.
In 1911, while working as the cook's helper on a ship, Nguyễn traveled to the United States. From 1912–13, he lived in New York City (Harlem) and Boston, where he worked as a baker at the Parker House Hotel. Among a series of menial jobs, he claimed to have worked for a wealthy family in Brooklyn between 1917–18, and for General Motors as a line manager. It is believed that, while in the United States, he made contact with Korean nationalists, an experience that developed his political outlook.
At various points between 1913 and 1919, Nguyễn lived in West Ealing, and later in Crouch End, Hornsey. He reportedly worked as either a chef or dish washer [reports vary] at the Drayton Court Hotel in West Ealing.[11] It is claimed that Nguyễn trained as a pastry chef under Auguste Escoffier at the Carlton Hotel in the Haymarket, Westminster, but there is no evidence to support this.[10][12] However, the wall of New Zealand House, home of the New Zealand High Commission, which now stands on the site of the Carlton Hotel, displays a blue plaque, stating that Nguyễn worked there in 1913 as a waiter. Nguyễn was also employed as a pastry boy on the Newhaven–Dieppe ferry route in 1913.
From 1919–23, while living in France, Nguyễn began to show an interest in politics, being influenced by his friend and Socialist Party of France comrade Marcel Cachin. Nguyễn claimed to have arrived in Paris from London in 1917, but the French police only had documents recording his arrival in June 1919.[10] He joined a group of Vietnamese nationalists in Paris whose leaders were Phan Chu Trinh and Phan Văn Trường, bearing a new name Nguyễn Ái Quốc ("Nguyễn the Patriot"). Following World War I, the group petitioned for recognition of the civil rights of the Vietnamese people in French Indochina to the Western powers at the Versailles peace talks, but was ignored.[15] Citing the language and the spirit of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, they expected U.S. President Woodrow Wilson to help remove the French colonial rule from Vietnam and ensure the formation of a new, nationalist government. Although they were unable to obtain consideration at Versailles, the failure further radicalized Nguyễn, while also making him a symbol of the anti-colonial movement at home in Vietnam.[16]
In 1920, Nguyễn became a representative to the Congress of Tours of the Socialist Party of France, Quốc voted for the Third International and a founding member of the Parti Communiste Français (FCP). Taking a position in the Colonial Committee of the PCF, he tried to draw his comrades' attention towards people in French colonies including Indochina, but his efforts were often unsuccessful. During this period he began to write journal articles and short stories as well as running his Vietnamese nationalist group. In May 1922, Nguyễn wrote an article for a French magazine criticizing the use of English words by French sportswriters.[17] The article implored Prime Minister Raymond Poincaré to outlaw such Franglais as le manager, le round and le knock-out. While living in Paris, he reportedly had a relationship with a dressmaker named Marie Brière.
In 1923, Nguyễn (Ho) left Paris for Moscow, where he was employed by the Comintern, studied at the Communist University of the Toilers of the East,[18][19] and participated in the Fifth Comintern Congress in June 1924, before arriving in Canton (present-day Guangzhou), China, in November 1924.

Đọc cả hai bản gốc di chúc còn lại ta thấy rằng việc chôn cất sau khi chết là một việc vô cùng quan trọng đối với HCM. Quan trọng đến mức trong bản di chúc thứ hai, ông đưa việc này lên đầu văn bản, thay vào vị trí dành cho Đảng trong bản di chúc thứ nhất.
Cần nhấn mạnh rằng mong muốn của HCM về việc hỏa táng là không thay đổi. Đó là mong muốn duy nhất của ông.
Theo những gì được ông trực tiếp trình bày trong di chúc, thì ông muốn làm gương cho hình thức hỏa táng, vốn không phải là một truyền thống của người Việt, vì các lý do được ông giải thích rõ:
"Tôi yêu cầu thi hài tôi được đốt đi, tức là "hỏa táng". Tôi mong rằng cách "hỏa táng" sau này sẽ được phổ biến. Vì như thế đối với người sống đã tốt về mặt vệ sinh, lại không tốn đất ruộng. Khi ta có nhiều điện, thì "điện táng" càng tốt hơn. "
Câu này được giữ nguyên trong cả hai văn bản di chúc. Chứng tỏ đó là ý nguyện bất di bất dịch của HCM, điều mà ông đã suy ngẫm rất kỹ. Hơn nữa ông dùng chữ " yêu cầu ", chứ không phải " đề nghị ". Đó là một mệnh lệnh. Để thấy rằng nguyện vọng này là một nguyện vọng hết sức quan trọng.
Tác giả bài viết Nguyen Thi Tu Huy cũng nhận định rằng: Những điều mà Chủ Tịch H.C.M giữ nguyên trong cả hai bản di chúc (viết vào năm 1965 và năm 1968) chính là : Di nguyện chọn hình thức hỏa táng, không tổ chức tang lễ linh đình, tránh lãng phí thời giờ và tiền bạc của nhân dân.” Di nguyện của HCM đã bị phản bội, cho tới tận lúc này, đã 46 năm kể từ khi ông mất. Ông bị phản bội từ di nguyện quan trọng nhất tới tận từng chi tiết nhỏ nhất của di chúc.
Hồ Chí Minh (19 tháng 5 năm 1890 – 2 tháng 9 năm 1969) là một nhà cách mạng, người sáng lập Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam, một trong những người đặt nền móng và lãnh đạo công cuộc đấu tranh giành độc lập, toàn vẹn lãnh thổ cho Việt Nam trong thế kỷ 20, một chiến sĩ cộng sản quốc tế. Ông là người viết và đọc bản Tuyên ngôn Độc lập Việt Nam khai sinh nước Việt Nam Dân chủ Cộng hòa ngày 2 tháng 9 năm 1945 tại quảng trường Ba Đình, Hà Nội, là Chủ tịch nước Việt Nam Dân chủ Cộng hòa trong thời gian 1945 – 1969, Chủ tịch Ban Chấp hành Trung ương Đảng Lao động Việt Nam trong thời gian 1951 – 1969.
Là một lãnh tụ được nhiều người ngưỡng mộ và tôn sùng, lăng của ông được xây ở Hà Nội, nhiều tượng đài của ông được đặt ở khắp mọi miền Việt Nam, hình ảnh của ông được nhiều người dân treo trong nhà, đặt trên bàn thờ, và được in ở hầu hết mệnh giá đồng tiền Việt Nam. After putting together a complete list, it turned out to be 23, and I hope this list of attractions will help and inspire you to visit Vietnam’s largest and most exciting city. 1. Binh Tay Market - Binh Tay Market is one of the largest wholesale distribution markets, and a perfect place to go if you’re looking to go shopping in Ho Chi Minh City. 2. Thien Hau Temple (Pagoda) - Located in Chinatown, in District 5, the temple is dedicated to Thien Hau and I really loved the sculptures and the elaborate design of the temple. 3. Museum of Ho Chi Minh City - This museum offers a glimpse into the history and development of the city and Vietnam. 4. Bitexco Financial Tower - This is the tallest building in Saigon, and you can either go to the Skydeck or a cafe at the top for a view of the city. 5. Independence Palace (Reunification Palace) - Probably one of the most well known tourism things to do in Saigon is to visit the Independence Palace, the the former home of the president of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War. 6. Saigon Cathedral of Notre Dame - With the French influence in Vietnam, the Notre Dame cathedral is a beautiful Catholic church. Attend a service or just visit. 7. Central Post Office - Designed by Gustave Eiffel, the Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh City is an attraction mainly for its design and architecture. It’s a beautiful building. 8. War Remnants Museum - Although this is not one of the happiest attractions in Saigon, it’s a place to remember and honor the horrible events that are a result of a war. 9. Opera House - Right in Dong Khoi area, and there are still opera shows available. 10. Dong Khoi Street - This is the height of high end shopping in Saigon. 11. Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens - The zoo itself is not too great, but the beauty of the Saigon zoo is the botanical gardens, and the lush gardens, and taking a break from the city. 12. FITO Museum (Museum of Traditional Vietnamese Medicine) - I was quite impressed by the Vietnamese medicine private museum - very interactive and educational. 13. San Art Laboratory – If you love modern art, the San Art Laboratory is a great place to see and visit in Saigon. 14. Turtle Lake at Night - If you’re looking for some things to do at night in Saigon, head to Turtle Lake to chill out, relax, hang out with friends, and eat snacks. 15. Ben Thanh Market - One of the most famous things to do in Saigon District 1 is visit the Ben Thanh Market, one of the major central landmarks of the city. 16. Phu My Hung and Starlight Bridge - Located outside of central Ho Chi Minh City, Phu My Hung is a modern development, and a great place to walk around. 17. Water Puppet Show - Though originally from the north of Vietnam, water puppet shows are popular also in Saigon. I went to the Golden Dragon Water Puppet theater. 18. Museum of Vietnamese History - Probably one of the most extensive and important museum showing the history of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City. 19. Rooftop Bar - Seeing Saigon from above offers a great perspective. 20. Fine Arts Museum - This was my favorite of all the museums in Saigon. The museum is housed in a well preserved building, and the art is amazing - located right in District 1 across the roundabout from Ben Thanh Market. 21. Jade Emperor Pagoda - Dedicated to the Jade Emperor, the pagoda has a real ancient feel to it, and it’s worth seeing when you visit. 22. Local Wet Market - One of my favorite things to do is visit a local fresh wet market, which you’ll find all over the city. The ingredients, food, and culture, all stand out at fresh markets. 23. Vietnamese Street Food - By my ultimate favorite activity in Saigon is eating street food, and there are an abundance of delicious Vietnamese street foods to sample. Hồ Chí Minh (/ˈhoʊ ˈtʃiː ˈmɪn/;[4] Northern Vietnamese pronunciation: [ho̞˧˩ t͡ɕi˧˥ mɪŋ˧] ( listen), Southern Vietnamese pronunciation: [ho̞˧˩ t͡ɕɪj˧ mɪ̈n˧] ( listen); 19 May 1890 – 2 September 1969), born Nguyễn Sinh Côn,[5][6][7] or Nguyễn Sinh Cung, also known as Nguyễn Tất Thành and Nguyễn Ái Quốc, was a Vietnamese Communist revolutionary leader who was prime minister (1945–55) and president (1945–69) of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam). He was a key figure in the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945, as well as the People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN) and the Việt Cộng (NLF or VC) during the Vietnam War. He led the Việt Minh independence movement from 1941 onward, establishing the Communist-ruled Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945 and defeating the French Union in 1954 at the battle of Điện Biên Phủ. He officially stepped down from power in 1965 due to health problems, but remained a highly visible figurehead and inspiration for those Vietnamese fighting for his cause—a united, communist Vietnam—until his death. After the war, Saigon, the former capital of the Republic of Vietnam, was renamed Hồ Chí Minh City; however, the name Saigon is still very widely used. In 1911, while working as the cook's helper on a ship, Nguyễn traveled to the United States. From 1912–13, he lived in New York City (Harlem) and Boston, where he worked as a baker at the Parker House Hotel. Among a series of menial jobs, he claimed to have worked for a wealthy family in Brooklyn between 1917–18, and for General Motors as a line manager. It is believed that, while in the United States, he made contact with Korean nationalists, an experience that developed his political outlook. At various points between 1913 and 1919, Nguyễn lived in West Ealing, and later in Crouch End, Hornsey. He reportedly worked as either a chef or dish washer [reports vary] at the Drayton Court Hotel in West Ealing.[11] It is claimed that Nguyễn trained as a pastry chef under Auguste Escoffier at the Carlton Hotel in the Haymarket, Westminster, but there is no evidence to support this.[10][12] However, the wall of New Zealand House, home of the New Zealand High Commission, which now stands on the site of the Carlton Hotel, displays a blue plaque, stating that Nguyễn worked there in 1913 as a waiter. Nguyễn was also employed as a pastry boy on the Newhaven–Dieppe ferry route in 1913. From 1919–23, while living in France, Nguyễn began to show an interest in politics, being influenced by his friend and Socialist Party of France comrade Marcel Cachin. Nguyễn claimed to have arrived in Paris from London in 1917, but the French police only had documents recording his arrival in June 1919.[10] He joined a group of Vietnamese nationalists in Paris whose leaders were Phan Chu Trinh and Phan Văn Trường, bearing a new name Nguyễn Ái Quốc ("Nguyễn the Patriot"). Following World War I, the group petitioned for recognition of the civil rights of the Vietnamese people in French Indochina to the Western powers at the Versailles peace talks, but was ignored.[15] Citing the language and the spirit of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, they expected U.S. President Woodrow Wilson to help remove the French colonial rule from Vietnam and ensure the formation of a new, nationalist government. Although they were unable to obtain consideration at Versailles, the failure further radicalized Nguyễn, while also making him a symbol of the anti-colonial movement at home in Vietnam.[16] In 1920, Nguyễn became a representative to the Congress of Tours of the Socialist Party of France, Quốc voted for the Third International and a founding member of the Parti Communiste Français (FCP). Taking a position in the Colonial Committee of the PCF, he tried to draw his comrades' attention towards people in French colonies including Indochina, but his efforts were often unsuccessful. During this period he began to write journal articles and short stories as well as running his Vietnamese nationalist group. In May 1922, Nguyễn wrote an article for a French magazine criticizing the use of English words by French sportswriters.[17] The article implored Prime Minister Raymond Poincaré to outlaw such Franglais as le manager, le round and le knock-out. While living in Paris, he reportedly had a relationship with a dressmaker named Marie Brière. Theo những gì được ông trực tiếp trình bày trong di chúc, thì ông muốn làm gương cho hình thức hỏa táng, vốn không phải là một truyền thống của người Việt, vì các lý do được ông giải thích rõ: "Tôi yêu cầu thi hài tôi được đốt đi, tức là "hỏa táng". Tôi mong rằng cách "hỏa táng" sau này sẽ được phổ biến. Vì như thế đối với người sống đã tốt về mặt vệ sinh, lại không tốn đất ruộng. Khi ta có nhiều điện, thì "điện táng" càng tốt hơn. " Câu này được giữ nguyên trong cả hai văn bản di chúc. Chứng tỏ đó là ý nguyện bất di bất dịch của HCM, điều mà ông đã suy ngẫm rất kỹ. Hơn nữa ông dùng chữ " yêu cầu ", chứ không phải " đề nghị ". Đó là một mệnh lệnh. Để thấy rằng nguyện vọng này là một nguyện vọng hết sức quan trọng. Tác giả bài viết Nguyen Thi Tu Huy cũng nhận định rằng: Những điều mà Chủ Tịch H.C.M giữ nguyên trong cả hai bản di chúc (viết vào năm 1965 và năm 1968) chính là : Di nguyện chọn hình thức hỏa táng, không tổ chức tang lễ linh đình, tránh lãng phí thời giờ và tiền bạc của nhân dân.” Di nguyện của HCM đã bị phản bội, cho tới tận lúc này, đã 46 năm kể từ khi ông mất. Ông bị phản bội từ di nguyện quan trọng nhất tới tận từng chi tiết nhỏ nhất của di chúc. Hồ Chí Minh (19 tháng 5 năm 1890 – 2 tháng 9 năm 1969) là một nhà cách mạng, người sáng lập Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam, một trong những người đặt nền móng và lãnh đạo công cuộc đấu tranh giành độc lập, toàn vẹn lãnh thổ cho Việt Nam trong thế kỷ 20, một chiến sĩ cộng sản quốc tế. When I was in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), along with eating as much Vietnamese food as I could, one of my goals was to film a travel video about some of the best things to do in Saigon. After putting together a complete list, it turned out to be 23, and I hope this list of attractions will help and inspire you to visit Vietnam’s largest and most exciting city.
1. Binh Tay Market - Binh Tay Market is one of the largest wholesale distribution markets, and a perfect place to go if you’re looking to go shopping in Ho Chi Minh City.
2. Thien Hau Temple (Pagoda) - Located in Chinatown, in District 5, the temple is dedicated to Thien Hau and I really loved the sculptures and the elaborate design of the temple.
3. Museum of Ho Chi Minh City - This museum offers a glimpse into the history and development of the city and Vietnam.
4. Bitexco Financial Tower - This is the tallest building in Saigon, and you can either go to the Skydeck or a cafe at the top for a view of the city.
5. Independence Palace (Reunification Palace) - Probably one of the most well known tourism things to do in Saigon is to visit the Independence Palace, the the former home of the president of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
6. Saigon Cathedral of Notre Dame - With the French influence in Vietnam, the Notre Dame cathedral is a beautiful Catholic church. Attend a service or just visit.
7. Central Post Office - Designed by Gustave Eiffel, the Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh City is an attraction mainly for its design and architecture. It’s a beautiful building.
8. War Remnants Museum - Although this is not one of the happiest attractions in Saigon, it’s a place to remember and honor the horrible events that are a result of a war.
9. Opera House - Right in Dong Khoi area, and there are still opera shows available.
10. Dong Khoi Street - This is the height of high end shopping in Saigon.
11. Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens - The zoo itself is not too great, but the beauty of the Saigon zoo is the botanical gardens, and the lush gardens, and taking a break from the city.
12. FITO Museum (Museum of Traditional Vietnamese Medicine) - I was quite impressed by the Vietnamese medicine private museum - very interactive and educational.
13. San Art Laboratory – If you love modern art, the San Art Laboratory is a great place to see and visit in Saigon.
14. Turtle Lake at Night - If you’re looking for some things to do at night in Saigon, head to Turtle Lake to chill out, relax, hang out with friends, and eat snacks.
15. Ben Thanh Market - One of the most famous things to do in Saigon District 1 is visit the Ben Thanh Market, one of the major central landmarks of the city.
16. Phu My Hung and Starlight Bridge - Located outside of central Ho Chi Minh City, Phu My Hung is a modern development, and a great place to walk around.
17. Water Puppet Show - Though originally from the north of Vietnam, water puppet shows are popular also in Saigon. I went to the Golden Dragon Water Puppet theater.
18. Museum of Vietnamese History - Probably one of the most extensive and important museum showing the history of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City.
19. Rooftop Bar - Seeing Saigon from above offers a great perspective.
20. Fine Arts Museum - This was my favorite of all the museums in Saigon. The museum is housed in a well preserved building, and the art is amazing - located right in District 1 across the roundabout from Ben Thanh Market.
21. Jade Emperor Pagoda - Dedicated to the Jade Emperor, the pagoda has a real ancient feel to it, and it’s worth seeing when you visit.
22. Local Wet Market - One of my favorite things to do is visit a local fresh wet market, which you’ll find all over the city. The ingredients, food, and culture, all stand out at fresh markets.
23. Vietnamese Street Food - By my ultimate favorite activity in Saigon is eating street food, and there are an abundance of delicious Vietnamese street foods to sample.

He led the Việt Minh independence movement from 1941 onward, establishing the Communist-ruled Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945 and defeating the French Union in 1954 at the battle of Điện Biên Phủ. He officially stepped down from power in 1965 due to health problems, but remained a highly visible figurehead and inspiration for those Vietnamese fighting for his cause—a united, communist Vietnam—until his death. After the war, Saigon, the former capital of the Republic of Vietnam, was renamed Hồ Chí Minh City; however, the name Saigon is still very widely used.
In 1911, while working as the cook's helper on a ship, Nguyễn traveled to the United States. From 1912–13, he lived in New York City (Harlem) and Boston, where he worked as a baker at the Parker House Hotel. Among a series of menial jobs, he claimed to have worked for a wealthy family in Brooklyn between 1917–18, and for General Motors as a line manager. It is believed that, while in the United States, he made contact with Korean nationalists, an experience that developed his political outlook.
At various points between 1913 and 1919, Nguyễn lived in West Ealing, and later in Crouch End, Hornsey. In 1911, while working as the cook's helper on a ship, Nguyễn traveled to the United States. From 1912–13, he lived in New York City (Harlem) and Boston, where he worked as a baker at the Parker House Hotel. Among a series of menial jobs, he claimed to have worked for a wealthy family in Brooklyn between 1917–18, and for General Motors as a line manager. It is believed that, while in the United States, he made contact with Korean nationalists, an experience that developed his political outlook.

Đọc cả hai bản gốc di chúc còn lại ta thấy rằng việc chôn cất sau khi chết là một việc vô cùng quan trọng đối với HCM. Quan trọng đến mức trong bản di chúc thứ hai, ông đưa việc này lên đầu văn bản, thay vào vị trí dành cho Đảng trong bản di chúc thứ nhất.
Cần nhấn mạnh rằng mong muốn của HCM về việc hỏa táng là không thay đổi. Đó là mong muốn duy nhất của ông.
Theo những gì được ông trực tiếp trình bày trong di chúc, thì ông muốn làm gương cho hình thức hỏa táng, vốn không phải là một truyền thống của người Việt, vì các lý do được ông giải thích rõ:
"Tôi yêu cầu thi hài tôi được đốt đi, tức là "hỏa táng". Tôi mong rằng cách "hỏa táng" sau này sẽ được phổ biến. Vì như thế đối với người sống đã tốt về mặt vệ sinh, lại không tốn đất ruộng. Khi ta có nhiều điện, thì "điện táng" càng tốt hơn. "
Câu này được giữ nguyên trong cả hai văn bản di chúc. Chứng tỏ đó là ý nguyện bất di bất dịch của HCM, điều mà ông đã suy ngẫm rất kỹ. Hơn nữa ông dùng chữ " yêu cầu ", chứ không phải " đề nghị ". Đó là một mệnh lệnh. Để thấy rằng nguyện vọng này là một nguyện vọng hết sức quan trọng.
Tác giả bài viết Nguyen Thi Tu Huy cũng nhận định rằng: Những điều mà Chủ Tịch H.C.M giữ nguyên trong cả hai bản di chúc (viết vào năm 1965 và năm 1968) chính là : Di nguyện chọn hình thức hỏa táng, không tổ chức tang lễ linh đình, tránh lãng phí thời giờ và tiền bạc của nhân dân.” Di nguyện của HCM đã bị phản bội, cho tới tận lúc này, đã 46 năm kể từ khi ông mất. Ông bị phản bội từ di nguyện quan trọng nhất tới tận từng chi tiết nhỏ nhất của di chúc.

Đọc cả hai bản gốc di chúc còn lại ta thấy rằng việc chôn cất sau khi chết là một việc vô cùng quan trọng đối với HCM. Quan trọng đến mức trong bản di chúc thứ hai, ông đưa việc này lên đầu văn bản, thay vào vị trí dành cho Đảng trong bản di chúc thứ nhất.
Cần nhấn mạnh rằng mong muốn của HCM về việc hỏa táng là không thay đổi. Đó là mong muốn duy nhất của ông.
Theo những gì được ông trực tiếp trình bày trong di chúc, thì ông muốn làm gương cho hình thức hỏa táng, vốn không phải là một truyền thống của người Việt, vì các lý do được ông giải thích rõ:
"Tôi yêu cầu thi hài tôi được đốt đi, tức là "hỏa táng". Tôi mong rằng cách "hỏa táng" sau này sẽ được phổ biến. Vì như thế đối với người sống đã tốt về mặt vệ sinh, lại không tốn đất ruộng. Khi ta có nhiều điện, thì "điện táng" càng tốt hơn. "
Câu này được giữ nguyên trong cả hai văn bản di chúc. Chứng tỏ đó là ý nguyện bất di bất dịch của HCM, điều mà ông đã suy ngẫm rất kỹ. Hơn nữa ông dùng chữ " yêu cầu ", chứ không phải " đề nghị ". Đó là một mệnh lệnh. Để thấy rằng nguyện vọng này là một nguyện vọng hết sức quan trọng.
Tác giả bài viết Nguyen Thi Tu Huy cũng nhận định rằng: Những điều mà Chủ Tịch H.C.M giữ nguyên trong cả hai bản di chúc (viết vào năm 1965 và năm 1968) chính là : Di nguyện chọn hình thức hỏa táng, không tổ chức tang lễ linh đình, tránh lãng phí thời giờ và tiền bạc của nhân dân.” Di nguyện của HCM đã bị phản bội, cho tới tận lúc này, đã 46 năm kể từ khi ông mất. Ông bị phản bội từ di nguyện quan trọng nhất tới tận từng chi tiết nhỏ nhất của di chúc.
Hồ Chí Minh (19 tháng 5 năm 1890 – 2 tháng 9 năm 1969) là một nhà cách mạng, người sáng lập Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam, một trong những người đặt nền móng và lãnh đạo công cuộc đấu tranh giành độc lập, toàn vẹn lãnh thổ cho Việt Nam trong thế kỷ 20, một chiến sĩ cộng sản quốc tế. Ông là người viết và đọc bản Tuyên ngôn Độc lập Việt Nam khai sinh nước Việt Nam Dân chủ Cộng hòa ngày 2 tháng 9 năm 1945 tại quảng trường Ba Đình, Hà Nội, là Chủ tịch nước Việt Nam Dân chủ Cộng hòa trong thời gian 1945 – 1969, Chủ tịch Ban Chấp hành Trung ương Đảng Lao động Việt Nam trong thời gian 1951 – 1969.
Là một lãnh tụ được nhiều người ngưỡng mộ và tôn sùng, lăng của ông được xây ở Hà Nội, nhiều tượng đài của ông được đặt ở khắp mọi miền Việt Nam, hình ảnh của ông được nhiều người dân treo trong nhà, đặt trên bàn thờ, và được in ở hầu hết mệnh giá đồng tiền Việt Nam. Ông được thờ cúng ở một số đền thờ và chùa Việt Nam. Ông đồng thời cũng là một nhà văn, nhà thơ và nhà báo với nhiều tác phẩm viết bằng cả tiếng Việt, tiếng Hán và tiếng Pháp. Ông đã được tạp chí Time bình chọn là một trong 100 người có ảnh hưởng nhất của thế kỷ 20

TRAVEL VLOG: VIETNAM | Ho Chi Minh CIty, Hanoi & Ha Long Bay
So I managed to plan a pretty last minute getaway to Vietnam for my midsem break, no regrets even though I'm being slammed by assignments at the moment. We spent 3 nights in Ho Chi Minh City and 5 nights in Hanoi which includes 1 night on a Ha Long Bay cruise. The really adorably decorated room in the video was taken at Supe Homestay, where we stayed in HCMC. Received quite a few messages from you guys on snapchat asking about the room haha. 3 days were definitely enough to travel most of HCMC and we didn't even take a taxi.
