Since 2010, you’ve sent nearly 30 million in humanitarian aid, reaching over 1.6 million people. Comprehensive assistance that ranges from healthcare to water programs to emergency relief to jobs skills training. You’ve trusted Islamic relief to deliver that aid effectively and efficiently. And Alhamdulillah, the Islamic Relief family has been doing work in the region since 1992 with your support. We are now providing services for more than a dozen offices and field units throughout Pakistan. You showed families that you are invested in their long-term wellbeing by empowering them to create sustainable livelihoods. You gave farmers tools, supplies, training, and even installed irrigation systems to improve their crop yields. You ensured that farm animals were vaccinated and healthy so that food and livelihood sources could be sustained. You enabled marginalized, disadvantaged, and at-risk communities to pursue self-reliance by providing business training and grants. You developed cash for work opportunities for individuals struggling to earn a living and provided small business loans to help families in need get on the right track. In emergencies, you bring rapid relief; afterwards you bring hope. You sent emergency food relief for years in a row including vital food aid, kitchen sets, and medical care after devastating floods in 2010 and 2011. You provided temporary housing for flood victims and helped with evacuation. In the aftermath of the earthquake in 2015, you gave relief to victims by distributing emergency shelter tents and winterization kits. You gave internally displaced individuals in Pakistan access to proper health services and psychosocial support especially for pregnant women, new mothers, and young children. And you made sure they had hygiene supplies, water, and sanitary waste collection facilities in their camps. You prevented blindness in entire communities by supporting preventative eye care services. You’ve insured that individuals that needed eye surgery got proper care and those who needed treatment for eye related diseases got the medicine they needed. You gave the gift of sight. You established an intensive care unit for children and newborns so that more children will survive past their 5th birthday. You supported widows in need with free healthcare and insured that those with chronic diseases got specialized treatment. You limited the spread of hepatitis C in Pakistan with awareness campaigns and preventative care. You sponsored hygiene promotion sessions to help educate communities on how to stay healthy and keep diseases away. And you ensured families had mosquito nets to prevent the spread of malaria. You supported the development of small villages by improving access to latrines and sanitation facilities to keep out disease. And you constructed disaster resilient homes that can withstand monsoon rains. You established centralized hand pumps so entire villages can have easy access to clean water when they don’t have one at home. You rehabilitated and treated existing water supplies to make water clean and drinkable. You brought families food. This was especially helpful during Ramadan when you delivered food packages filled with staple foods so that families can make nutritious meals to break their fasts with. And for Eid, you sent Qurbani meat, a gift that many families couldn’t afford otherwise. Currently, IRUSA donors like you are sponsoring more than 2,800 orphans in Pakistan, delivering financial support to their guardians so that they can get the things they need like clothes, food, school supplies, medical care, and more.
