A Georgia police officer charged with making up a story about being shot by a suspect has been fired, the Jackson police chief said Saturday.
Officer Sherry Hall made a police radio call earlier this month and falsely said she had been shot, Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Joe Wooten said in a news conference Friday. She has now lost her job, Police Chief James Morgan announced Saturday, according to WGXA.
Police had previously said she was shot in the abdomen on Sept. 13, but her bulletproof vest protected her. Hall said several times during interviews with investigators that she was shot by a black man near some woods. "There is no person out there with a gun shooting at our police officers," Towaliga Judicial Circuit District Attorney Richard Milam said at the news conference. "There is no person out there that needs to be found."
A Jackson police officer accused of lying about the day she was shot made her first appearance in court on Tuesday.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed Monday that Sherry Hall is being held at the Butts County Jail. She will remain there as the judge refused bond based on what he called her mental state.
She faces charges of making false statement, tampering with evidence, interference with government property and violation of oath of office.
On September 13, Hall reported that she has been shot by a black man while on the job in Jackson. Investigators say evidence suggests Hall actually shot herself.
She has been under voluntary medical care for the last few weeks.

State investigators said they Jackson, Georgia police officer who claimed she was shot on Sept. 13 actually shot herself and then made up the story to cover for it.
The GBI announced they have issued arrest warrants for Jackson Police Officer Sherry Hall. Hall, who checked herself into a private facility for treatment unrelated to any physical wounds, will be charged with making a false statement, tampering with evidence, criminal damage to property, and violation of oath of office upon her release.
Hall originally said she spotted a man near the wood line on Camelia Court just after midnight on Sept. 13. She said she was shot in the abdomen area of her body armor when she confronted the man. Hall said she fired twice at the gunman before he fled. She gave investigators a description of the man before being taken to Macon Medical Center where she was treated and released.
"A lot of times humans make mistakes and we expect mistakes to be made. cops are just that they are humans and they make mistakes," said Butts County Sheriff Gary Long. "This is not a mistake this is criminal."
GBI agents later determined she had a second service weapon they believe was used during the incident, which they found during a search of her home. Investigators said there were also inconsistencies in her statement leading up to her no longer cooperating with the investigation when she was questioned again.
"For two weeks, the good people of the city of Jackson have poured out their hearts, their expressions of concern and their support for what we believe to be a police officer, one of our own, harmed in the line of duty," said Jackson Mayor Kay Pippin. "I share their disappointment in what we now believe to be a rouse."

People are wondering why an officer would make up a story like this. Many law enforcement agencies have a rule which calls for the termination of an employee if a weapon is accidentally discharged. FOX 5’s Morse Diggs asked the Jackson Police Chief about that with his department.
“That rule does exist, however it's always mitigating circumstances. Again, situation of that caliber, we will have an independent agency look at that,” said Jackson Police Chief James Morgan.
The GBI has not specified if this incident was an accidental discharge situation.
Hall, who had only been on the force for three months at the time of the incident, has been on paid administrative leave since the shooting.

"In the fifth episode, we headed over to the Trocadero theater in Philly to meet up with Immortal Technique. He was on tour to promote his new album "The Martyr" and was under the weather but took the time to record some vocals for us to use as a scratch hook. Even though he was exhausted he was cool enough to give us a shout
out and some words of encouragement. Then we went
to Occupy Philadelphia at City Hall to meet up with an amazing woman named Sherry Somach. She talked
to us a while about protesting back in the days of the Vietnam war vs. today and played us her original song "99 Percent". Next we headed up to New York City to film on Wall St. where the entire occupy movement began. Finally, since the protest has spread to over 200 different cities nationwide, we gather some clips filmed in other parts of the country.
Big thank you to Immortal Technique and Sherry Somach for being a part of the song. Also big thanks to Reef the Lost Cause.

A Ride West - live is the new iteration of an interdisciplinary project which began in 2012 when Valentina Vella became strangely obsessed with the idea of riding a horse across America. The ride was attempted in the summer 2013 and it culminated in a long video piece which was first presented as a video installation at the 2014 Interdisciplinary Arts MFA show at Columbia College Chicago. While exploring the same themes - the American West as a repository of dreams and projections, the Hero’s Journey as a storytelling device, Jungian theories about the psyche, the heroic stance as an antidote to erotic longing, the encounter with non-human animals as a gateway to the unconscious - the work presented at Links Hall created a different experience for the audience by inserting new material, by rearranging the hierarchy of its components and by articulating the distance between the past tense of narration (and of photographic documents) and the present tense of performance. The video installation was a structurally circular visual and aural experience guided by the voice of a disembodied narrator, the same narrator whose body was finally present (but not always visible) in front of the Links Hall audience.
The show featured a live band (Nathan Paulus, Sharon Hoyer and Josh Miller from the I Ching Quartet and Daniel Schneider from The Singleman Affair) and live video editing and processing by Michael LaHood. Sound design by Alex Drosen. Lighting by Chelsey Shilling.

Frankie Valli
Frankie Valli (born Francesco Stephen Castelluccio; May 3, 1934) is an American popular singer, known as the frontman of The Four Seasons beginning in 1960. He is known for his unusually powerful falsetto voice.
Valli scored 29 Top 40 hits with The Four Seasons, one Top 40 hit under The Four Seasons' alias 'The Wonder Who?', and nine Top 40 hits as a solo artist. As a member of The Four Seasons, Valli's number-one hits included "Sherry" (1962), "Big Girls Don't Cry" (1962), "Walk Like a Man" (1963), "Rag Doll" (1964) and "December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)" (1975). Valli's recording of the song "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" reached number two in 1967. "You're Ready Now", a Valli solo recording from 1966, became a surprise hit in Great Britain as part of the Northern soul scene and hit number eleven on the British pop charts in December 1970. As a solo artist, Valli scored number-one hits with the songs "My Eyes Adored You" (1974) and "Grease" (1978).

Lene Hall
Lene Hall (born Sherrylene Hall) is a Barbadian model. She modeled throughout her high school career, but it was only when an agent approached Hall at her work place in Barbados and encouraged her to come to New York that she would have her chance on the international fashion stage. Things moved quickly: on her first interview with an agency, she was signed on the spot and sent directly for her first casting at "Prescriptive by Estée Lauder." Hall landed the job, becoming the face of Prescriptive for the next year. Hall has gone on to walk the runway for Ralph Lauren and European couture designers. In addition to Esteé Lauder, Hall has done campaigns for Noxzema, Lubriderm, Kohler, and Vaniqua, and has been the face for Revlon, Lafayette 148, and Oil of Olay.

Sherry
Sherry (English /ˈʃɛri/, Spanish: Jerez [xeˈɾeθ] or [xeˈɾes]) is a fortified wine made from white grapes that are grown near the town of Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia, Spain. Sherry is produced in a variety of styles made primarily from the Palomino grape, ranging from light versions similar to white table wines, such as Manzanilla and Fino, to darker and heavier versions that have been allowed to oxidise as they age in barrel, such as Amontillado and Oloroso. Sweet dessert wines are also made from Pedro Ximenez or Moscatel grapes, and are sometimes blended with Palomino-based Sherries.
The word "Sherry" is an anglicisation of Xeres (Jerez). Sherry was previously known as sack, from the Spanish saca, meaning "extraction" from the solera. In Europe, "Sherry" has protected designation of origin status, and under Spanish law, all wine labelled as "Sherry" must legally come from the Sherry Triangle, an area in the province of Cádiz between Jerez de la Frontera, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, and El Puerto de Santa María. In 1933 the Jerez Denominación de Origen was the first Spanish denominación to be officially recognised in this way, officially named D.O. Jerez-Xeres-Sherry and sharing the same governing council as D.O. Manzanilla Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

"And I" is a song written by American R&B singer Ciara, and produced by Adonis Shropshire for Ciara's first album, Goodies (2004). It was released as the album's fourth and final single on August 30, 2005 (see 2005 in music) in North America.
The song was originally the third choice for the fourth single. Ciara has mentioned in an interview that "Thug Style", "Hotline" or "Pick up the Phone" would be the fourth single, but when Ciara suggested "And I" to executives at her previous record label LaFace, they were unhappy because they wanted "Next to You" to be the fourth single.
Chart performance
At the time of the U.S. release of "And I", Ciara's collaboration with Bow Wow, "Like You", and her collaboration with Missy Elliott, "Lose Control", were at the height of their popularity. "And I" peaked at 96 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and 27 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, which were poor positions compared to those attained by the first three singles from the album Goodies. It was not released outside North America because of this, and it is Ciara's least successful single.

Animal Bikes and Chess Move Cartel Present: Live from the Streets. "In the fifth episode, we headed over to the Trocadero theater in Philly to meet up with Immortal Technique. He was on tour to promote his new album "The Martyr" and was under the weather but took the time to record some vocals for us to use as a scratch hook. Even though he was exhausted he was cool enough to give us a shout out and some words of encouragement. Then we went to Occupy Philadelphia at City Hall to meet up with an amazing woman named Sherry Somach. She talked to us a while about protesting back in the days of the Vietnam war vs. today and played us her original song "99 Percent". Next we headed up to New York City to film on Wall St. where the entire occupy movement began. Finally, since the protest has spread to over 200 different cities nationwide, we gather some clips filmed in other parts of the country. Big thank you to Immortal Technique and Sherry Somach for being a part of the song. Also big thanks to Reef the Lost Cause. "... because why would anyone want to ride a horse to California? Especially a woman. Especially an Italian woman who can’t ride very well. Especially an Italian woman who doesn’t have a gun.” A Ride West - live is the new iteration of an interdisciplinary project which began in 2012 when Valentina Vella became strangely obsessed with the idea of riding a horse across America. The ride was attempted in the summer 2013 and it culminated in a long video piece which was first presented as a video installation at the 2014 Interdisciplinary Arts MFA show at Columbia College Chicago. The video is available here: https://vimeo.com/93747729 While exploring the same themes - the American West as a repository of dreams and projections, the Hero’s Journey as a storytelling device, Jungian theories about the psyche, the heroic stance as an antidote to erotic longing, the encounter with non-human animals as a gateway to the unconscious - the work presented at Links Hall created a different experience for the audience by inserting new material, by rearranging the hierarchy of its components and by articulating the distance between the past tense of narration (and of photographic documents) and the present tense of performance. The video installation was a structurally circular visual and aural experience guided by the voice of a disembodied narrator, the same narrator whose body was finally present (but not always visible) in front of the Links Hall audience. The show featured a live band (Nathan Paulus, Sharon Hoyer and Josh Miller from the I Ching Quartet and Daniel Schneider from The Singleman Affair) and live video editing and processing by Michael LaHood. Sound design by Alex Drosen. Lighting by Chelsey Shilling. Presented with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago. A Jackson police officer accused of lying about the day she was shot made her first appearance in court on Tuesday. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed Monday that Sherry Hall is being held at the Butts County Jail. She will remain there as the judge refused bond based on what he called her mental state. She faces charges of making false statement, tampering with evidence, interference with government property and violation of oath of office. On September 13, Hall reported that she has been shot by a black man while on the job in Jackson. Investigators say evidence suggests Hall actually shot herself. She has been under voluntary medical care for the last few weeks.

A Jackson police officer accused of lying about the day she was shot made her first appearance in court on Tuesday.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed Monday that Sherry Hall is being held at the Butts County Jail. She will remain there as the judge refused bond based on what he called her mental state.
She faces charges of making false statement, tampering with evidence, interference with government property and violation of oath of office.
On September 13, Hall reported that she has been shot by a black man while on the job in Jackson. Investigators say evidence suggests Hall actually shot herself.
She has been under voluntary medical care for the last few weeks.

State investigators said they Jackson, Georgia police officer who claimed she was shot on Sept. 13 actually shot herself and then made up the story to cover for it.
The GBI announced they have issued arrest warrants for Jackson Police Officer Sherry Hall. Hall, who checked herself into a private facility for treatment unrelated to any physical wounds, will be charged with making a false statement, tampering with evidence, criminal damage to property, and violation of oath of office upon her release.
Hall originally said she spotted a man near the wood line on Camelia Court just after midnight on Sept. 13. She said she was shot in the abdomen area of her body armor when she confronted the man. Hall said she fired twice at the gunman before he fled. She gave investigators a description of the man before being taken to Macon Medical Center where she was treated and released.
"A lot of times humans make mistakes and we expect mistakes to be made. cops are just that they are humans and they make mistakes," said Butts County Sheriff Gary Long. "This is not a mistake this is criminal."
GBI agents later determined she had a second service weapon they believe was used during the incident, which they found during a search of her home. Investigators said there were also inconsistencies in her statement leading up to her no longer cooperating with the investigation when she was questioned again.
"For two weeks, the good people of the city of Jackson have poured out their hearts, their expressions of concern and their support for what we believe to be a police officer, one of our own, harmed in the line of duty," said Jackson Mayor Kay Pippin. "I share their disappointment in what we now believe to be a rouse."

People are wondering why an officer would make up a story like this. Many law enforcement agencies have a rule which calls for the termination of an employee if a weapon is accidentally discharged. FOX 5’s Morse Diggs asked the Jackson Police Chief about that with his department.
“That rule does exist, however it's always mitigating circumstances. Again, situation of that caliber, we will have an independent agency look at that,” said Jackson Police Chief James Morgan.
The GBI has not specified if this incident was an accidental discharge situation.
Hall, who had only been on the force for three months at the time of the incident, has been on paid administrative leave since the shooting.

He was on tour to promote his new album "The Martyr" and was under the weather but took the time to record some vocals for us to use as a scratch hook. Even though he was exhausted he was cool enough to give us a shout
out and some words of encouragement. Then we went
to Occupy Philadelphia at City Hall to meet up with an amazing woman named Sherry Somach. She talked
to us a while about protesting back in the days of the Vietnam war vs. today and played us her original song "99 Percent". Next we headed up to New York City to film on Wall St. where the entire occupy movement began. Finally, since the protest has spread to over 200 different cities nationwide, we gather some clips filmed in other parts of the country.

A Ride West - live is the new iteration of an interdisciplinary project which began in 2012 when Valentina Vella became strangely obsessed with the idea of riding a horse across America. The ride was attempted in the summer 2013 and it culminated in a long video piece which was first presented as a video installation at the 2014 Interdisciplinary Arts MFA show at Columbia College Chicago. While exploring the same themes - the American West as a repository of dreams and projections, the Hero’s Journey as a storytelling device, Jungian theories about the psyche, the heroic stance as an antidote to erotic longing, the encounter with non-human animals as a gateway to the unconscious - the work presented at Links Hall created a different experience for the audience by inserting new material, by rearranging the hierarchy of its components and by articulating the distance between the past tense of narration (and of photographic documents) and the present tense of performance. The video installation was a structurally circular visual and aural experience guided by the voice of a disembodied narrator, the same narrator whose body was finally present (but not always visible) in front of the Links Hall audience.
The show featured a live band (Nathan Paulus, Sharon Hoyer and Josh Miller from the I Ching Quartet and Daniel Schneider from The Singleman Affair) and live video editing and processing by Michael LaHood. Sound design by Alex Drosen. Lighting by Chelsey Shilling.

A Ride West - live is the new iteration of an interdisciplinary project which began in 2012 when Valentina Vella became strangely obsessed with the idea of riding a horse across America. The ride was attempted in the summer 2013 and it culminated in a long video piece which was first presented as a video installation at the 2014 Interdisciplinary Arts MFA show at Columbia College Chicago. As part of GENERATION at Kelvingrove, David Sherry has made a new film to be shown on the digital signage screens in the main hall. From the moment he proposed the idea for his film Sherry engaged a range of Glasgow Museum staff, managers, conservators and technicians, in conversations about how he could realise the work.
In seeking permission to make Kelvingrove Film Sherry got to know the staff at Kelvingrove better and was able to experience the museum while it was closed. His ambitions to make a piece of work that turned the museum from a purely exhibition function for the artist to a site of production, alongside the process of negotiation to make that happen, were all part of the work itself.
“All of these factors filtered into the process and the outcome of the piece. Kelvingrove Film is a playful work that related to both performance and sculpture. I think the final piece is a series of reflective moments that draws out our relationship to material, space, representation, history and the elements that make up a walk through a great museum.”

Project Lacey Green (2014 – ) is concerned with the relationship between design, making and place – examining how the communal act of building can affect architectural processes and forms. It celebrates contingency, and seeks to occupy the fertile space between academia, practice, and industry. Initiated as Clem's final design thesis at the RCA, the project will continue as a long-term collaboration with Grysmdyke Farm, the Architectural Association, Webb Yates Engineers, and St. John's School.
The built outcome of the first phase is a new music pavilion for St John's, and has been developed with input from construction professionals, teachers, parents, children, and a team of international design students who participated in the AA Lacey Green Visiting School. Relationships have been established with regional manufacturers and suppliers who have enabled the project through the provision of in-kind support and expertise. The structure was prototyped and fabricated at Grysmdyke Farm, a research and fabrication facility in the village, using timber donated by Hooke Park, a managed forest owned and run by the Architectural Association. As a reciprocal frame, with each member resting on the adjacent one to create an interlocking lattice, the structural design reflects the ethos of collaboration and interdependence within the project as a whole.
The roof, floor and landscaping is currently being completed and the space will be enclosed as an interior classroom next summer. Through this process of incremental and collaborative completion, the project suggests ways in which built structure can become an ongoing framework for social and cultural infrastructure.

Project Lacey Green (2014 – ) is concerned with the relationship between design, making and place – examining how the communal act of building can affect architectural processes and forms. It celebrates contingency, and seeks to occupy the fertile space between academia, practice, and industry. Initiated as Clem's final design thesis at the RCA, the project will continue as a long-term collaboration with Grysmdyke Farm, the Architectural Association, Webb Yates Engineers, and St. John's School.
The built outcome of the first phase is a new music pavilion for St John's, and has been developed with input from construction professionals, teachers, parents, children, and a team of international design students who participated in the AA Lacey Green Visiting School. Relationships have been established with regional manufacturers and suppliers who have enabled the project through the provision of in-kind support and expertise. The structure was prototyped and fabricated at Grysmdyke Farm, a research and fabrication facility in the village, using timber donated by Hooke Park, a managed forest owned and run by the Architectural Association. As a reciprocal frame, with each member resting on the adjacent one to create an interlocking lattice, the structural design reflects the ethos of collaboration and interdependence within the project as a whole.
The roof, floor and landscaping is currently being completed and the space will be enclosed as an interior classroom next summer. Through this process of incremental and collaborative completion, the project suggests ways in which built structure can become an ongoing framework for social and cultural infrastructure.
