We were busy during the first half of the day that week, so we only got to go to the park for 3 hours before it closed each day. But we got a season pass at Costco so we were able to go 4 days in a row!
On DAY 2 we went on the Jurassic Park ride. Jillian didn't want to go on it so she got to play in the Dino Play Child Switch area and Evan got to ride twice. Then it was off to The Mummy and Transformers Ride. We finished off the 3 hour excursion with a Squishee from Krustyland and the special effects show.
We got a bite to eat at Universal CityWalk and went shopping at the Things From Another World store! Stay tuned for more of our Universal Studios adventure!

Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem is a simulator ride attraction at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood. The attraction is based on Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment's 2010 animated film Despicable Me and employs the use of 3-D HD digital animation. The attraction replaced Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast in Florida and Terminator 2 3D in Hollywood.
Universal Orlando Resort announced that the attraction is being designed by their Universal Creative company in association with Illumination Entertainment and Despicable Me film producer Chris Meledandri. The ride is a motion simulator and employs the use of high-definition 3-D Infitec projection systems, and features multiple characters from the film, including Gru, Margo, Edith, Agnes and the Minions.
The attraction at Universal Studios Florida is located in Soundstage 42 in the Production Central area. The soundstage previously housed The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera 1990 until 2002 and Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast from 2003 until 2011. The attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood is located on the former site of T2 3-D: Battle Across Time on the Upper Lot.
After the ride, the door opens to a dance party with the public dancing to "Boogie Fever," along with a costumed Minion.

On DAY 4 Jillian and MommyTube spent the morning at the pool while Evan and DaddyTube were finishing up their project at the recording studios. Then it was time to do some shopping and meet up at Universal CityWalk.
Silly Swirly Fun Ride was the only ride we hadn't gone on, so we hit that first. Then it was back to Minion Mayhem for some more 3-D simulation fun. We caught a couple of shows, Shrek 4-D and Universal Animal Actors.
We had to try out the "World Famous - The Big Pink" giant pink donut at Lard Lad Donuts in Krustyland. We got ONE to share! This thing was HUGE!

In one of the pre-ride video sequences for The Simpsons Ride look out for a cameo by Doc Brown, who attempts to borrow money to save the Institute of Future Technology. This is a tribute to Back to the Future: The Ride, which was replaced by The Simpsons Ride.
Back in the late 1990s, Universal had really ambitious plans for its Orlando resort. They planned to make it twice as big as it is now but after a disastrous opening year, the people in charge at Universal Studios Florida reconsidered it and thought it was a bad idea after all.
The T-700 terminators that line the wall of the Terminator 2: 3-D theater are each eight feet tall, and are predecessors of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800.
Legendary movie director Steven Spielberg makes an appearance in Men in Black: Alien Attack, wearing a Jurassic Park baseball cap and reading a newspaper. When shot, the figure lowers the newspaper to reveal a triple-headed alien.
During the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, a statue of geologist Louis Agassiz fell outside the Stanton University Zoology building. Look out for a replica in Richter’s Burger Co., one of the restaurants in the San Francisco backlot area. It is partially buried, with its head embedded in the ground.
When you’re embarking on the Revenge of the Mummy ride in Universal Studios, keep your eye out for a king in the treasure room at the beginning of the ride. If you look to the front left of the room, you’ll be able to see a little golden statue of King Kong beating his chest.
You’ve heard of butterbeer, but have you heard of pumpkin fizz? Available at the Three Broomsticks or Hog’s Head Pub, this carbonated pumpkin drink is sure to add a little extra flavor to your trip.
Peer at the windows of the Metropolis Tribune building in the New York backlot. Each is marked with the name of someone who helped in the development of Universal Studios Florida, such as Charlie Gundacker, senior vice president of attractions development.
When Nickelodeon Studios shut its doors in April 2005, Soundstage 18 was transformed over the next two years into a 1,000-seat venue for the Blue Man Group, which began its shows there in June 2007. The only element of the studios that is still visible from outside is the orange handrail on the second floor of the Sharp AQUOS Theater.

Dolph Lundgren (born Hans Lundgren; 3 November 1957) is a Swedish actor, director, and martial artist. He belongs to a generation of film actors who epitomise the movie action hero stereotype including Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme.
A graduate in chemical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and the University of Sydney in Sydney, Australia in 1982, Lundgren holds a rank of 3rd dan black belt in Kyokushin Karate and was European champion in 1980 and 1981. While in Sydney, he became a bodyguard for Jamaican singer Grace Jones and began a relationship with her. They moved together to New York City, where after a short stint as a model and bouncer at the Manhattan nightclub 'The Limelight', Jones got him a small debut role in the James Bond film A View to a Kill as a KGB henchman.

In one of the pre-ride video sequences for The Simpsons Ride look out for a cameo by Doc Brown, who attempts to borrow money to save the Institute of Future Technology. This is a tribute to Back to the Future: The Ride, which was replaced by The Simpsons Ride. Back in the late 1990s, Universal had really ambitious plans for its Orlando resort. They planned to make it twice as big as it is now but after a disastrous opening year, the people in charge at Universal Studios Florida reconsidered it and thought it was a bad idea after all. The T-700 terminators that line the wall of the Terminator 2: 3-D theater are each eight feet tall, and are predecessors of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800. Legendary movie director Steven Spielberg makes an appearance in Men in Black: Alien Attack, wearing a Jurassic Park baseball cap and reading a newspaper. When shot, the figure lowers the newspaper to reveal a triple-headed alien. During the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, a statue of geologist Louis Agassiz fell outside the Stanton University Zoology building. Look out for a replica in Richter’s Burger Co., one of the restaurants in the San Francisco backlot area. It is partially buried, with its head embedded in the ground. When you’re embarking on the Revenge of the Mummy ride in Universal Studios, keep your eye out for a king in the treasure room at the beginning of the ride. If you look to the front left of the room, you’ll be able to see a little golden statue of King Kong beating his chest. You’ve heard of butterbeer, but have you heard of pumpkin fizz? Available at the Three Broomsticks or Hog’s Head Pub, this carbonated pumpkin drink is sure to add a little extra flavor to your trip. Peer at the windows of the Metropolis Tribune building in the New York backlot. Each is marked with the name of someone who helped in the development of Universal Studios Florida, such as Charlie Gundacker, senior vice president of attractions development. When Nickelodeon Studios shut its doors in April 2005, Soundstage 18 was transformed over the next two years into a 1,000-seat venue for the Blue Man Group, which began its shows there in June 2007. Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem is a simulator ride attraction at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood. The attraction is based on Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment's 2010 animated film Despicable Me and employs the use of 3-D HD digital animation. The attraction replaced Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast in Florida and Terminator 2 3D in Hollywood. We were busy during the first half of the day that week, so we only got to go to the park for 3 hours before it closed each day. But we got a season pass at Costco so we were able to go 4 days in a row!
On DAY 2 we went on the Jurassic Park ride. Jillian didn't want to go on it so she got to play in the Dino Play Child Switch area and Evan got to ride twice. Then it was off to The Mummy and Transformers Ride. We finished off the 3 hour excursion with a Squishee from Krustyland and the special effects show.
We got a bite to eat at Universal CityWalk and went shopping at the Things From Another World store! Stay tuned for more of our Universal Studios adventure!

The attraction is based on Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment's 2010 animated film Despicable Me and employs the use of 3-D HD digital animation. The attraction replaced Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast in Florida and Terminator 2 3D in Hollywood.
Universal Orlando Resort announced that the attraction is being designed by their Universal Creative company in association with Illumination Entertainment and Despicable Me film producer Chris Meledandri. The ride is a motion simulator and employs the use of high-definition 3-D Infitec projection systems, and features multiple characters from the film, including Gru, Margo, Edith, Agnes and the Minions.
The attraction at Universal Studios Florida is located in Soundstage 42 in the Production Central area. The soundstage previously housed The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera 1990 until 2002 and Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast from 2003 until 2011. The attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood is located on the former site of T2 3-D: Battle Across Time on the Upper Lot.
After the ride, the door opens to a dance party with the public dancing to "Boogie Fever," along with a costumed Minion.

Silly Swirly Fun Ride was the only ride we hadn't gone on, so we hit that first. Then it was back to Minion Mayhem for some more 3-D simulation fun. We caught a couple of shows, Shrek 4-D and Universal Animal Actors.
We had to try out the "World Famous - The Big Pink" giant pink donut at Lard Lad Donuts in Krustyland. We got ONE to share! This thing was HUGE!

Look out for Disney jibes in the posters outside Shrek 4-D, which poke fun at the Enchanted Tiki Room and Dumbo the Flying Elephant.
In one of the pre-ride video sequences for The Simpsons Ride look out for a cameo by Doc Brown, who attempts to borrow money to save the Institute of Future Technology. This is a tribute to Back to the Future: The Ride, which was replaced by The Simpsons Ride.
Back in the late 1990s, Universal had really ambitious plans for its Orlando resort. They planned to make it twice as big as it is now but after a disastrous opening year, the people in charge at Universal Studios Florida reconsidered it and thought it was a bad idea after all.

Sound Stage 28 is the oldest sound stage and rumored to be haunted. (6:15) Stage 27 was used for Snow White and the Hunstman, and the Muppet Movie! (6:44)
While you continue the Studio Tour, you'll pass more sound stage and sets of TV shows and films, including The Mindy Project, Friends and more. Heading into the Back Lot, you'll see exterior sets used (10:15), known as the "Metropolitan Sets."
Jimmy Fallon welcomes you onto the New York Street at (12:27)! During your tour, you'll see clips of movies shot at the studio and interviews with famous directors and more, like Peter Jackson, while passing the sets and sound stages.
At (15:07), you'll enter your first ride experience of the Studio Tour- King Kong! Flesh eating dinosaurs completely surround you (15:50) at 360 degrees with 3D effects, as you witness a gruesome fight between King Kong and a T-Rex.
Don't worry-- you'll make it out alive! (17:00) On your continuation of the tour, you'll see film props, like the cars used in The Fast and the Furious.
Sound Stage 55 (20:01) is where you'll experience special effects used in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Bullet hits, smoke, fire and a full run-through occurs at (20:25) with the command of "Clear on the set!"
Jurassic Park will be the next set after The Fast and the Furious! (22:20) Keep a lookout- some dinosaurs might have escaped. (23:00)
The tram will head into Old Mexico, Six Points Texas and on the left, you'll a sneak peek of Hallmark's show, Home and Family, being shot. (27:42) Your next immersive experience (28:45) includes an 8.3 earthquake with water effects!
For the rest of the tour you'll venture through the Jaws set, the Desperate Housewives' neighborhood, The Grinch set, Psycho and more. Watch out for Norman Bates chasing you with a knife! (38:54) The last ride experience of the tour is inside the Mummy's tomb (43:57) with the Mummy cursing your tram and causing havoc.
